SMARTRO SC93 Wireless Weather Station Review

This is an excellent, full-featured weather station. Nice, easy-to-read display, which has different brightness levels for the backlight (or the backlight can be turned off). It displays the time, date, indoor and outdoor temperature, sunrise/sunset times, mold risk indicator, moon phase, barometric pressure, weather forecast, as well as a host of other information..
The weather station comes with a wireless sensor that can be placed outdoors (the outdoor sensor has a small readout on it for the temperature and humidity as well). It supports up to 3 sensors (additional sensors available separately) and can automatically cycle through them.
The best part is that above all else, the weather station is very intuitive to use and set. The manual is easy to read and written in plain English. For almost all of the setup, I didn't even need to consult it. The only part you need the manual for is the code for the correct city, so it can show proper sunrise and sunset times, and that's found in a table at the end. Very simple.
The unit plugs in at all times and can be desk or wall mounted. Bear in mind that if you mount this on the wall, there will be a cord coming down. A backup battery function is included (uses 2 AA batteries), or, if you choose, you can run the weather station off the batteries without it being plugged in, but the backlight will not be lit. You must press a button on it for the display to light up, so that's the tradeoff, otherwise the batteries wouldn't last long. All around an excellent, full-featured weather station, everything you need is included, and it's easy to use and set up!

How are the viewing angles? The video shows the top of the screen is a little washed out when the monitor is angled back.

Just about any weather station like this, with a backlit display, that you can find today, uses the same type of LCD panel. You need to see it head on, period. You can buy 15 different ones and they will all have the same problem.
