I'm a student at Cal and you're one of the reasons I started my channel!! I'm a media studies major
Im 43 minutes away. I dnt think i need to live there... should I bart or drive?
What’s your major
I've told you this before, but your videos were one of the reasons I decided to transfer to Cal. My experience has been somewhat different than yours, partly due to being a transfer student. I didn't take any of those large lecture classes my first two years and I'm also part of a very, very small and tight knit major so I'm on first name terms with every professor I've had at Cal. However, mine isn't by any means a standard experience, but I wanted to offer an alternate perspective. :)
Beth Van Heuklom -I’m a future transfer student hopefully in the fall!!! Deciding between Cal and UCLA... I’m from San Diego too
Stanley Dunn wishing you all the best in your decision making process, and congrats on your recent admissions decisions!
what is your major if you don't mind me asking :)
Hi Beth what is your major if you don't mind me asking? I’m a transfer student that got accepted into Berkeley i’m nervous of grade deflation tho because I want to attend grad school.
I'm here from that relaxing music video
hi!! I got admitted as a transfer student for fall 2020 for ucb. With fall classes probably going online, would you rather just stay home and save costs on living or would u find housing? It would be my first semester there (coming from a cc in socal) and as much as I'd love to see it, I also want to save money as well.
Congratulations! Because there is such a high chance of the semester being online, I would recommend that you save your money. There will be very little for you to do in Berkeley if the semester is online. Plus, if things change and you decide that you do want to move to Berkeley later in the semester, I’m sure you’ll be able to find housing! There will likely be a lot of people staying at home during the fall.
Kayla Pimentel it’s gonna be weird adjusting to the academic rigor w it being online but yeah even if i moved up it’d still be online and saving money definitely is the move. Thank you!
I’m a transfer student who just got accepted into Berkeley do you recommend it? i’m scared of grade deflation because I want to attend grad school..
@@cetaceans4progress375 same lmk what u chose
@@compilationgems2237 I ended up choosing ucsd
Girl, I lived in and near the bay area...I know what you mean 🤣!
Actually UCLA had been ranked # 1 public school for the past 3 years. The area that UCLA is located in is gorgeous. Clean. Safe . Beautiful campus. Great weather. Academically rigorous. Not to mention lots of student housing available.Quality of life is good. But you've given good advice for prospective students overall.
I was going to comment on all this as well! And as far as the people go, not everyone here is stuck up lol
UCLA is indeed ranked #1 public school but only in the U.S. UC Berkeley is ranked #1 public school in the WORLD.
UCLA had been ranked # 1 public school for the past 3 years is like saying Disneyland is the happiest place on earth! I am sure you were either repeating something you saw or heard or just kidding.
Mathematics: (2) UC Berkeley vs (7) UCLA
Engineering: (3) UC Berkeley vs (13) UCLA
Computer Science: (1) UC Berkeley vs (13) UCLA
Business: (3) UC Berkeley vs UCLA No Business School
Economics: (1) UC Berkeley vs (12) UCLA
Physics: (3) UC Berkeley vs. (17) UCLA
Chemistry: (2) UC Berkeley vs. (13) UCLA
Biology & Biochemistry: (4) UC Berkeley vs. (18) UCLA
Biological Sciences: (1) UC Berkeley vs. (18) UCLA
Psychology: (1) UC Berkeley vs. (3) UCLA
English: (1) UC Berkeley vs. (6) UCLA
Is this enough? Not really, I just started, Let's continue...
1. Number of Noble price winners: UC Berkeley 107 winners vs. UCLA 15 winners
2. Nobel laureates by affiliation ranking: (3) UC Berkeley vs. (47)
3. Clubs: UC Berkeley 1200 vs. UCLA 1000
3. Libraries: UC Berkeley 22 vs UCLA 12
5. Mascot: A Cal Bear can easily maul a cute little Bruin Bear. UCLA couldn't even come up with a unique mascot
6. Semester System (16 weeks) VS. Quarter System (10 weeks): Better chance to make friends, better chance to form a relationship with your professor, better chance to raise your grade if you did not do well on your first exam, and a better chance to find a job when graduate.
7. Location: UC Berkely is located right by San Francisco and Silicon Valley so your chance of landing a job is infinitely great than being located in Brentwood.
8. Brand: Worldwide UC Berkeley has a better brand than UCLA.
9. Campus: UC Berkeley is gorgeous and more unique. You can go hiking around campus and see the whole bay area. Does UCLA even have a Campanile?
UCLA is a very good University, but UC Berkeley will always be # 1 :-)
