Is this really StarCraft 2? Or maybe the closest we'll get to StarCraft 3? Say hello to the Custom Scion Races Mod! If you're a returning viewer you'll likely be familiar with this one: it adds three new playable races to the StarCraft universe. Big shoutout to Solstice for making this possible.
Today we have a banger of a game between the Keiron and Genetron: Quoror (K) Vs Cognite (G). These are two very strong players who are familiar with the mod, and this game reflects that! We may as well be watching a game in an alternate StarCraft universe.
If you're new to this channel, I cast a wide range of StarCraft 2 content including casual games and modded games including viewer submitted content! If more casual and modded StarCraft are something you guys are interested in, please consider subscribing!
Since the majority of casts are of pro level games, I think it would be really interesting focus on StarCraft 2 ladder games from the more general population of StarCraft 2 players. Of course I will occasional host a pro-level match once in awhile, but for now I'm focused on casting StarCraft 2 from players in the community!

the quality of this mod always blows my mind. how is this even possible to make as many models with the same quality as the original game?
It's really professionally done, looks way better than a lot of official RTS games these days. I'll have to double check but I think some of these models are rendered in Blender
After all this years. SC engine is still kicking the new gen RTS game.....
Man....with the advanced of tech I wonder what limit we can push for SC....
ME I want it to have more cap or have no cap at all. For most of the cap is "SCV's"

It really does. It’s an entirely new experience
Building style from both races are extremely similar to Supreme commander Aeon and UEF races, overhaul style also have some similar tendency.
I Think this style of having lots of races is a lot more interesting, feels a lot like AoE2... its more having knowledge about everything and and your own race than just having insane micro speed and some very tight build.
15:47 Army at the start of the battle: Blue 130, Orange 108.
16:04 Army at the end of the battle: Blue 111, Orange 28.
The 2 races are clearly not balanced.
Blue could have won so eazy by just pulling the trigger with his Army in early game already.
The races are reasonably balanced. The players are not.
Imagine a race that relies mainly on buildings to win
That would be sick! I could see them using something like a creep mechanic
Yeah a *Tower Defense* race...
Perhaps something like the Creeper World games?

Thanks for taking the time to cast some games from my favorite game, I had fun watching it. I think you have what it takes to be up there with other SC2 casters, with a bit more content and polish. If you are open to constructive criticism, sometimes you say "so" in a very forceful manner between sentences in a way that it doesn't add anything to the cast, but subjectively, is a bit annoying to hear. I think you could improve this by replacing this crutch with "what we have here is a player XYZ, about to push out with unitName", or just dropping the "so" in some situations, as you can straight up continue with whatever you were about to say anyways. Best of luck growing the channel!

Cool stuff. Reminds me of a Starcraft BW mod that came out somewhere around 2002 or earlier that had its own custom race called 'Zeji' with its own small campaign. It was kinda janky, didn't have a ton of unit variety, and had to replace Protoss, but it was pretty cool to see for the time, when most of the other mods were something along the lines of 'Marines look like Crono from Chrono Trigger'.
Anyone happen to know the name of that mod? Curious to know what became of it.

Not even funny how much better this looks than Stormgate...
Honestly though. I'm excited for Stormgate, and this may be a hot take but I'm not a big fan of the cartoony graphics. Maybe I just like the more gritty sci-fi graphics of SC2 but Stormgate doesn't have the aesthetic for me. The graphics also seem a bit outdated
So one can create custom factions for Starcraft, eh?

the video starts and this allready looks better than the so called "starcraft killer" rts like stormgate and whatsitcalled
Specs of your mobile PC setup?
I’m using the ACE Magician, it’s nothing crazy, 16Gb of RAM and a AMD Ryzen 7 5700U with Radeon graphics 1.80GHz
It plays SC2 and older games pretty well, certain modern games struggle or run at a lower frame rate. I can get Baldur’s Gate 3 to run on low-ish settings at around 30fps. It gets the job done though!

No need to install it! All you need to do is launch the game, create a custom melee match and select 'create with mod' and type 'Scion' and the mod should come up!

Is the gameplay sped up at all? Units from this mod seem to move faster and die faster than vanilla SC2.
As far as I know the mod is normal game speed!
