I'm disappointed that "Five Nights at Chucky-E-Cheese: Rebooted" wasn't mentioned. Seriously that game nails the feel of working at a Chucky's location back in the late 70's, although I'm not sure if it was made by the same guy who made the original, but it's definitely better than it by a long shot

Heck yeah. You can tell the developer did his homework on Chuck-e-Cheese history, what with the PONG machines, the portrait-style animatronics, and adding in defunct old animatronics from CEC like Crusty the Cat and Dollie Dimples, the Hippo.

Also he completely imagined a mechanic when there isn't one (the door). So yeah, no. You can not make a fair/ indepth review of a game you only played 4-10 minutes of.

The only good part of this video is that it made one of the old Popgoes Devs, Phisnom, so pissed off that he held a 6 1/2 hour stream of him 100% every single Popgoes game and giving (increasingly drunk) dev commentary with the Creator of Popgoes (Kane Carter) the entire time. What a gem of a stream.

I'm actually surprised that they never mentioned Dayshift at Freddy's and the dating game franchise. Yes, someone turned FNAF into a dating game series, and the first one is genuinely hilarious.
Both of these are, but Dayshift can get a lot more inappropriate. So just be prepared for that, if you plan to play or watch it.
They never mention dsaf despite all 3 games coming together in an amazing story that seriously made me emotional for a game thatâs very comedic

This video is pretty flawed honestly. You clearly spent too little time with games like Popgoes, and outright got some details wrong or just barely acknowledged some of them. Also you make a big deal at the end about seeing how much the creators have grown and improved, yet you didn't even bother mentioning the later FNAW games. There are a lot of more high quality fan games out there, but over time FNAW got better and started becoming its own thing, Origins and 4 in particular are really cool, 4 has some unsettling moments and Origins has some pretty unique gameplay. I was hoping to see those get mentioned, but instead you just clown on the first one because haha funny Google Images horror game. That's like the lowest hanging fruit possible. I appreciate the lesser known fangames getting a chance in the spotlight, I was really happy to see Porkchop's Adventure getting some attention, but from your description it didn't even sound like you played it, Dawko did a better job at explaining how it worked. If you're going to do a big video like this then you have to actually commit to it and not just brush off some of the games. This video isn't terrible or anything, but it felt like more of a bare bones showcase than anything. It needed more time, or maybe just don't talk about games you've only played for 5 minutes and focus your time on a smaller selection with more detail. There are better FNAF fangame videos out there.

He didnât even beat the first level of TJOC:SM and compared it to a 3D version of fnaf 4. Maybe if he actually played through all of the games completely instead of only the first few nights he wouldnât be getting all this hate? And if he couldnât beat a game, then donât talk about it? I think it would be cool to have a remake of this video in the future, but just less rushed and more researched. I've seen a lot of people in this comments section bringing up some really good points about details you've missed and entire games you didn't mention that were related to ones you did. Other than that, cool video, hope to see you collab with people more often
yeah this could use a redo/sequel, i dont think its a bad video but i could certainly see how this would be frustrating to a big fan of the series. though at the same time i do understand how much effort he must have already put into this and how he might not want to repeat that just to please people

Edit: I donât see the problem with Popgoes having the several mechanics. For me itâs one of the only two fan games that Iâd consider to have any tension because of that fact (the only other reason is The Joy Of Creation because of the fact that you have to rely a lot more on sound than most fnaf style games).

If you ever take a second look at FNAW I highly recommend the third game, itâs incredibly unique, and all the generic problems with the first two, are almost completely gone

I agree while the first five nights at wario's game is not the best and is a bit on the generic side, WWWwario really put a lot of effort into the series recently, especially with the newest game, five shows at wario's, with the best gameplay mechanics I've seen in years for any fnaf fan game, so just talking about the first game doesn't give a good light to arguably one of the best fnaf fan games series

POPGOES giving off too much info to the player was the reason why Kane rebooted it in EVERGREEN.
Plus, Evergreen POPGOES resembling Freddy was intentional, his hat was taken from the OG Freddy via the Fnaf 3 auction.

While, yeah I did enjoy this video and the cameos were great, I don't really think you gave some games a fair shot... like, I won't even go into the whole "you only played 5 minutes of this game" debacle that everyone is talking about on Twitter, but I don't think there's the need to be so critical of fan-games that you can just get on GameJolt for free...
You even seemed way more critical of games like PopGoes than stuff like F**boys...
Furthermore, these aren't big ass corporations... most of these games were either done by one person or by a small team, and instead of giving out constructive criticism, you just sort of said some really negative stuff and that's it...
At the end of the day, it's your opinion and I'm still a fan of your work, but I just wish you could have given out some more constructive criticism instead of piling on negative stuff...
The Joy of Creation gave me anxiety for over a year when I was younger, mostly because it's so much more unnerving when you're the one walking around. Thanks for mentioning it, it deserves the attention.

A little fact about FNAW
While admittedly the first game is the weakest, itâs sequels only grow in improvement, with new and unique mechanics each game (story could use some work tho)
Also the dude who made these games (from what I heard) isnât a kid.
The same goes for the ONAF series, the sequels in the series are incredible imo
Fnaw3 is arguably one of the most unique fangames iâve played actually, getting to play in different rooms for each of the nights that have their own mechanics was rlly cool

the criticism for five nights at wario's seems incredibly unjustified. while the original game was pretty unoriginal with its presentation and gameplay, it should've been given similar levity to treasure island. plus you hardly did research into the rest of the series or wwwwario, the developer. then you say its worse than five nights at sonic's which i just straight up can't agree with.

The developer is a guy by the name of WWWWario, and I definitely think this video lacked research after hearing the way you talked about it... not because it was good, but because the developer made several sequels of increasing quality as the first one was their first dive into point and click games.

I'll give Mark the benefit of the doubt and assume he played it after the Livestream, but even then he STILL got stuff about the game wrong, primarily about the doors, so unless he made a mistake in his script, his takes are dumb
Exactly, he complained about the mechanics being too complex when really they aren't once you get to know them. He just thought that way because they are pretty different from the original fnaf mechanics, not because they were bad.
I absolutely don't understand why you get so heated over the fangames in this video. That's not to say fangames are exempt from criticism, but when you acknowledge yourself that these fangames are most likely made by younger audiences, it kind of comes off as dickish to slam the games for the pettiest of reasons (ex. "fnaw is lazy cause it uses stock photos, and model rips too, why didn't they just draw everything in the game???). Once you get into the popular stuff, that's when I feel like you start being more fair, which makes very little sense to me. I will fully admit FNAW could have had more effort put into it, but keep in mind it's made by one dude. No matter the quality, that's impressive in and of itself. While yes, it's more stand out with the more popular titles, you didn't even give the rest of the FNAW games a chance just because "muh aesthetic is shit". None of those games are perfect, but the later entries have some genuinely cool and unique approaches to the gameplay, which I think is super commendable. Especially with the latest entry, it just goes to show how creative you can get with FNAF fangames just past a basic FNAF 1 or 2 recreation. At the end of the day, these games were made for fun, and while it's okay to criticize them, you bring it to a point of beating it into the ground and sound like you're expecting every fangame to be a masterpiece. I get the feeling this wasn't your intention, but with how surface level of research you did here, it comes off that way, and it's lazy on your part. I usually enjoy your content but man, stick to what you know and put some more research in before coming back to video game reviews. Please.

I know this fan game changed the theme from horror to comedy, but holy shit that trilogy is pure gold, the characters, the soundtracks, and the story. However what stands the most for me is the writing, masterpiece.
dsaf is definitely one of my more beloved fangame franchises, and im so glad he didnt pointlessly bash into it because as it seems he has no time to devote into fully playing any of the games he talks about, let alone their sequels (completely ignoring onaf 2 for example being like nah moving on, playing old versions of the games and behaving like only the original first game can define the entire franchise (again talking about onaf)) and dsaf is the one franchise that requires full dedication for it
dsaf 1 is definitely the most comedic one that doesnt strive off much lore and just jokes about orange and purple idiots burn down restaurant and go to vegas and foxys salad bar sucks
dsaf 2 is kinda like extended 1 but introducing more characters, slowly diving into lore
dsaf 3 is the mixture of previous 2 but with full lore devotion and more rpg elements, whereas previous 2 just had the random encounters and stuff like that but dsaf 3 presents a full playthrough with foes and bosses, character introduction, extending your party, and still holding onto how dsaf 1 and 2 did the concept of you work at a pizzeria during daytime except youre the boss now
theyre all heavily connected, and its like a smooth gradient for complete joke to world building, still comedic tho
but seeing how mark treated every single fangame on this list, he wouldnt see any of these qualities, he would call dsaf 1 bad for using stock assets and being a blatant joke just bashing it to its core, probably even call it a bad five nights at fboys rip off
dsaf is gold indeed, directdoggo outdid himself with it and dialtown, so appreciated that there are even dsaf fangame communities too, but none of the takes in mark's videos can be validated as theyre purely biased with little to no input at all on how the community functions so id rather call this a blessing

Though my memory might be rusty, I remember following the development of 5 nights at warios. It was by this youtuber, I think named wwwario, who was making the game at first to make fun of all of the shitty fan games coming out at the time. I remember him trying to make the game have its own thing going though, even if its a shitpost first and foremost. He hid a bunch of stuff in there too. I remember briefly following his development on the sequel, and I recall him improving on everything by 10 fold. Never played the game personally, but Im sure mark could have wasted a couple hours to do more research and actually play the games hes condemning.
edit: briefly looked back on the series, and apparently there are a ton of 5 nights at warios games and spin offs, going from a shitpost game to something that genuinely has alot of effort and heart put into it. Sad to see Mark go from "dont judge a book by it's cover, try everthing out" in one video, and then not even play the games hes talking about in the next. Hell, even researching said games would make more sense then just watching gameplay of the game and being like "yeaae, thiss gaem is shieet XD"

I usually enjoy your videos, Mark, but this video is honestly a miss. I feel like you should've spent more time on some of these games rather than just dunking them for visuals, but judge them for their gameplay instead. The whole "looks like MS Paint!" schtick is quite repetitive. You also got some info wrong too, like when you said Five Nights at Wario's might've been made by a kid when really it was made by a grown man. You need to brush up on your fact checking a bit.
