I think mercs are fine but with the exception of Lillia sleep, all the cc you mentioned for mercs were slows? That also get countered by swifties? And swifties are great for dodging Illaoi E and Q too, so I would have gone swifties, and a maw or just a negatron cloak, or even a QSS
Way easier matchup then most people think it is
When I play renekton I go ghost with tanky build like gore, shojin and steraks with a plan to pop ult, ghost and rush down enemy backlane/ fed carry so they cant play or just cause chaos, but because I build those items I allways feel like im missing out on the bork. I fell like I skip shojin and even more so steraks i will be squishy and I wouldnt be able to run them down like that. Should I build bork earlier or bork isnt as important I think it is?
funny how illaoi have to E only once and with that she can win the lane XD
play with a better illaoi - the ones who plays safe until level 6 - i've had my share of illaoi - where i stomp hard. In the end, I always ban illaoi - because there are better illaois than that you played agianst. the ones i hate the most are the ones who just farms and split push, barely engaging, always disengaging and using q to farm - yes q, maxing q, and just farm.
I'm sure the average Illaoi that you play against is way better then this master Illaoi player...
@@luiswohlrab4847 nah, they are shit like me - but through out time - those who plays passively gets so hard to fight late game. that's why i ban them.
I've had games similar to this video lots of them actually. they are easy to explain and say this is how you stomp illaoi (in this kind of game). been there.
then you think you can beat all illaoi - then you get others where you go, how come it didin't work this time. and then you start measuring, analyzing --- and work out why... so I ban them.
as a master/gm illaoi one trick this is one of the worst illaois i have ever seen, in this lane as illaoi all you have to do is start d shield and go grasp and go bone plating, just keep procing grasp with w all the time and respect renekton, once you have iceborn you can basically never miss your E, just go melee with renekton and uses your e, after iceborn you will never lose to renekton, also almost always max Q or if you are confident put 3 points in Q then max E

Thats every Renekton vs damage tank matchup, volibear is preeetty much the same.
Played this a couple times today. As renek it basically devolves into maybe squeezing a pre 6/iceborne kill out. Then not inting and being as annoying as possible.
She backs? Shove then lane swap, shove again. Emerald and below I find they just wanna split push, make it difficult
Then in team fights flash W into the DPS .
Honestly she's a good ban, most other things you can play into
@@sprintstothebathroomdaily2429 I would have to bank on someone being able to stop her split, because renek cant hang with her once she gets iceborn. If my team falls behind, no one can stop her. Super worth to ban imo.
