I genuinely appreciate the omegaverse. My first encounter was probably one of those weird straight werewolf abo things on wattpad, and honestly I wasn't a fan. The next time was an old bxb bts fic. I don't usually like reading fics about real people, but I make an exception for bts because the fandom has so many talented writers with top quality writing (as long as you read as though they are characters inspired by people and not actual people lol). I would continue having various encounters with the omegaverse on fan fiction sites and reading bl novels and manhwa /manga /webtoons and end up reading out of boredom. After a while I gained an appreciation. I started realising that as weird and crazy as seemed at first, some are extremely well thought out and well written with amazing world-building and interesting social dynamics that change thoughout the omegaverse. I became captivated by the possibilities you could introduce into the verse and before I knew it I was planning my own female alpha fics and gl/bl/straight AA and OO fics. Now I have accepted that I am a part of this community, though I'm still not quite to sure why or how it happened, it just did. Abo found me and somehow, I have accepted that this is who I am now. Thanks to Stanzi, I have discovered that my expertise has practical usage in p*ssing certain types people off (and scaring away people you don't want to deal with) and that makes it even better.
I admit, the tropes behind the Omegaverse aren't my thing and I've tried to avoid the genre as a whole, but as a reader and writer, it makes me really fucking happy to have watched from the sides as this genre was created and grown. It clearly brings a lot of people a lot of happiness, and the fact that something that started as this little fanfic trope has bloomed into an *industry* is wild. Like I said, it may not be my thing, but holy shit is it awesome to see the joy it brings people and to have watched in realtime as a genre came into being.

I would continue having various encounters with the omegaverse on fan fiction sites and reading bl novels and manhwa /manga /webtoons and end up reading out of boredom. After a while I gained an appreciation. I started realising that as weird and crazy as seemed at first, some are extremely well thought out and well written with amazing world-building and interesting social dynamics that change thoughout the omegaverse. I became captivated by the possibilities you could introduce into the verse and before I knew it I was planning my own female alpha fics and gl/bl/straight AA and OO fics.
Now I have accepted that I am a part of this community, though I'm still not quite to sure why or how it happened, it just did. Abo found me and somehow, I have accepted that this is who I am now.
Thanks to Stanzi, I have discovered that my expertise has practical usage in p*ssing certain types people off (and scaring away people you don't want to deal with) and that makes it even better.

Some of the best serious Omegaverse fic is in the Sherlock fandom, like Gilded Cage, etc. The ABO worldbuilding out there is wild.
I admit, the tropes behind the Omegaverse aren't my thing and I've tried to avoid the genre as a whole, but as a reader and writer, it makes me really fucking happy to have watched from the sides as this genre was created and grown. It clearly brings a lot of people a lot of happiness, and the fact that something that started as this little fanfic trope has bloomed into an *industry* is wild.
Like I said, it may not be my thing, but holy shit is it awesome to see the joy it brings people and to have watched in realtime as a genre came into being.

I've been on the fence about A/B/O fanfics. The way some of them just turn the Omega character into a baby making machine property is kind of horrifying. Definitely prefer a take charge Omega who doesn't want to be defined by his biology. Or some Omega/Omega stories are always appreciated.
Look at some alpha x alpha as well. Or beta x beta/omega or alpha x beta. They can be really wholesome and deep because they don't follow the stereotype dynamics.
