Analize their body languaje to find the best time to manipulate them. The kidnapper would less likely try to hurt you if it sees you as another human being. And don't panick cuz it will make you less rational in a fight or flight situation. Second, because I have no sense of self preservation and I need a rest from everything. A dark and chilly but-not-cold basement? Dam that's a good place to sleep.
