I loved watching Bode ski -- he was so aggressive that he was always on the edge of crashing, which created suspense and excitement. Mikaela is so different in some ways, but her talent is through the roof and there's never been a skier I've enjoyed watching as much.
Always loved Bode finishing a downhill run on one ski! Classic!! I agree with everything he says about Mikaela! In the slalom event, she is especially smooth!Her lines are just incredible ! She is also very humble! Great quality .
Not just skiing all events but winning all events with impressive margins of victory. Beyond impressive her stability is in the snow beneath her, supporting her manipulations creating magical superfluid levitation... she flies over the snow barley in contact except for the thinnest amount of edge contact.
I completely agree with Bode. She is the complete package. Sure, she had a bad Olympics during Beijing. However, she recovered and went on to get more victories from the end of the Olympics to present day, than a handful of men or women in their whole careers. The year that her father died, she quit the tour halfway through the season and still was only a few points short of winning the Overall World Cup Globe that year. That is why Sports Illustrated called her the most dominant athlete in the whole world. It is how you overcome obstacles that makes you a great human being or a great ski racer. She is also a humble person that gives credit to others that have helped her over the years. She is not like some NFL or NBA jerks that tell you they are the greatest and are in your face. Like most women that outperform their male peers in an educational setting by having to be at least twice as good as the men, she dryland trains as hard as anybody (even among men). Every year she does basic skiing drills that reinforce her foundation, was always the last off the hill while training, and paid attention to her coaches. She is a great ambassador for the sport, and her competitors don't just respect her as a skier, but as a trusted friend and overall great person to be around. She is the best technical skier EVER in the sport. Could she win against the men? Absolutely in slalom, occasionally in GS; but not in SG or DH because she only weighs about 150 pounds versus over 200 pounds for average male downhillers. For all of the you CZcams commenters here please quit your misogynist comments. The greatest skiers in the world of the past and present have all said that Mikaela Shiffrin is the GOAT. Go back, to you beginner (bunny) slopes, and in your snowplow have your delusional dreams that that you are a better skier (and for that matter human being) than Shiffrin is. She needs just one Downhill win to be the second Alpine skier to win five world cups in DH, SL, DS and SG. Bode will still also have 5+ AC wins, but there's not much Shiffrin can do to match that one if they don't bring the Combined back on the circuit.

The girl blew up in the Olympics; quite literally could not feel her skis and just fell over, so you can look at the mountain of world cup wins, but skiing comes down to the Olympics, and in the last test, Micki fell off the roof in a fashion never really seen before; just a complete psycho and delaminated brain at every start.
