  • What's up guys, just a video of removing the ECU (Engine Control Module / Unit) and the RH Passenger dash airbag on a 350Z. I should have the Akebono's back from powder-coating soon, and should have them installed soon as well, and the radiator should be installed soon too. If you have any questions just drop a comment, I'd be happy to help if I can. If you're new to the channel, consider subscribing, and make sure to hit that like button. I'll probably be finishing up the Akebono big brake kit soon.

    I have an 06 350 z, it cranks but no start. Apparently no spark to coil 1.
    I've researched here on yt, and alot of z owners have had issues with ecu and ipdm.
    I just got some off of ebay. My question is, after I replace the ipdm and ecu will I need any kind of reprogramming?
    I bought it as a project car for my son
    Any tips will help. Thanks in advance.
    Great video

    Do you have any videos about removing the lower panel underneath the steering wheel. I tried removing it and the only thing left holding it up was the hood release lever and i cannot figure out how to remove thay

    • @fullthrottleperformance
      @fullthrottleperformance  Před 5 lety

      Did you end up getting it removed? Sometimes it's difficult to remove the hood release cable, but it is possible. It seems like you got most of the job done, just need to pull on the portion of the cable pushed into the trim panel. Hope that helps, sorry for the delayed response

    Does the new ECU have to be programmed? Can a normal garage perform the programming? And finally, will the keys still work after swapping out the ECU. My concern is not the difficulty of replacing the ECU, but more towards being stuck afterwards and not being able to start the car. I sincerely doubt that Nissan is willing to do the work with a used part.

    • @fullthrottleperformance
      @fullthrottleperformance  Před 5 lety

      Yeah, they'll reprogram it but they won't put in a used one. I sell them complete with the key, body control module, the ignition, and the driver door lock cylinder as a set. Because the ecu has the vin stored on it, and the other things will need to be replaced with the ecu in order to start the vehicle. But if you reprogram the ecu, to match your vehicle(vin, etc.) then all the other accessories don't need to be replaced. And honestly, I don't know if smaller shops have the ability. I'd just call around and see. Hope that helps

    Will the ECU...you uninstalled have the matched Chassis VIN# on it ?? My 2004 VQ35 DE...I can hear the noise inside cabin....but more so I believe coming from the Right passenger side of the Engine compartment or Header metal pipe (R) side connection. In the morning when I start the car Cold...its high rev's but, once it warms up...you can hear sort of a Rattling noise. Not loud though...but noticeable. Even when after I pump the gas couple times....Adult owned never raced...has 65k miles on it. I did replace the 2 service belts a/c etc. Maybe both Pulley issue bearings wearing out or even Knock Sensor ?? Not sure....Can you help??

    • @fullthrottleperformance
      @fullthrottleperformance  Před 5 lety

      Yes the VIN is programmed into the ecu.

      @@fullthrottleperformance How about the noise as described?? Was it clear to understand?? I just noticed the noise within a couple months ago. Just sitting in my Car waiting for it to warm up in the morning. Or if I'm at the Stop light.... faint rattling noise. Can you Help??

    • @fullthrottleperformance
      @fullthrottleperformance  Před 5 lety

      What does the rattle sound like? And Where does it sound like it's coming from? I'm taking it sounds like the front, because you think it may be the belt pulley's? Honestly, it could be a lot of things. Have you gotten under the car to see if anything is loose? I remember when I got this one z, this rattling was driving me crazy lol. I finally just started to tighten every thing down under the car, and it turned out one of the bolts for the catalytic converter bracket/exhaust bracket thing was loose. Just one loose bolt lol. I've came across a lot of small noises, with a lot of different causes. So, without hearing it myself, it's kinda hard to give a definitive answer

    • @everflores6758
      @everflores6758 Před 5 lety

      The lights in the inside of the car.

    • @fullthrottleperformance
      @fullthrottleperformance  Před 5 lety

      Yeah, when a vehicle is flooded they tend to have more issues than just the electrical components. Was your car deep enough for water to get into the intake? If it was, remove all of the spark plugs and make sure no water is in the piston cylinders before spending money on anything else. If your car was deep enough to suck water into the intake, it may not be worth all the trouble of fixing unless you want to completely rebuild the engine, and replace many of the electrical components. If it was deep enough for water to reach the Body Control Module, and ECU, then you'll need to replace those as well. Computers and water don't mix very well, especially when there was a charge to the unit when it was submersed. Hope that helps, this was a long ass comment lol

    Hey, hopefully u can help, my 2008 nissan 350z with 55k miles, fluctuates at idle, bogs so much in first and second, i cleaned the throttle body, did relearn, mass air flow sensor as well and all that good stuff. Nothing has changed. I believe its the ECU. Will this fix the issue? And do you sell them? thanks! Hopefully u can respond

    What’s up man I’m buying a project 350z with what seems to be a bad ECU, I’m clueless when it comes to replacing ecu’s and I’ve read certain numbers need to match if you’re buying one used? Do you know what needs to match? I would say obviously the year and transmission the used one is from but anything else? Also I’ve read the keys would not work anymore but that should be fixed when I get the ECU flashed to the car correct?

    • @fullthrottleperformance
      @fullthrottleperformance  Před 4 lety +1

      Yeah, the ECU needs to be reprogrammed to your vehicle. Or you buy a complete set of the
      Ignition
      Key / remote
      Body control module
      ECU
      Door lock cylinder
      Immobilizer
