    As someone with zero experience with woodwork who's trying to make a box from scratch this video was just what I needed. Too many seem to think you have a whole woodwork shop at your disposal. Cheers

    Love it, a video with the basic hand tools that almost anyone has. I love watching woodworking videos, but the amount of very specific tools precludes me from doing them. Subscribed and will watch all of your previous ones! Thank you. (And the bloopers made me laugh out loud!)

    Thank you for this very simple and informative video. A question, please. Would I get away with chiselling out the mortise to attach a front to a rabbit hutch long wise metal grilled with a wooden surround opening panel? Its sturdy pine, an older one kept dry indoors? Many thanks

    • @georgiana6598
      @georgiana6598 Před 2 měsíci

      Sorry I meant will I need to put a mortise in with the chisel for a hutch front attachment from the one side edge with two way hinges, as you are using or can I skip this process? It's not heavy and I will be installing 2 hinges at the one side so the hutch front swings open and closed on the left hand side? Thank you

  • @bluetech2809

    just wondering what you are using to hold the wood in place. Surely if you don't hold it somehow it would just move when you try to chisel it.

    • @LTWCarpentry
      @LTWCarpentry  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi buddy just I used double sided tape to hold it for the purpose of the video, generally it would be on something larger and wouldn’t need fixing in place, just didn’t want it sliding around for the video. Thanks for you comment.

    Any tips on getting my screws flush? Mine always seem to end up at a slight angle or is it just a case of practicing.

    • @LTWCarpentry
      @LTWCarpentry  Před 3 lety +2

      In a nut shell yes, practice practice practice, although saying that you can buy things called centre drill bits sets that will help no end with this. I have added a link to a set in the description of this video for you if you wish to buy some. These really helped me when I first started! Hope that helps.

    I just repainted a small jelly cabinet. Never have done this before. So .... I'm wondering about the hinges which I removed before painting. Open a hinge one way and both sides will lie flat, open the other way and the sides will sit at right angles. Does it matter which way the hinge faces? Or is it a choice?

    6:40 There's a wide gap between the wood planks whether in open or in closed position. I don't think this is the proper way to do it, unless of course it's how you wanted it.

    • @LTWCarpentry
      @LTWCarpentry  Před 2 lety +3

      Thanks for the comment, this is in fact how you would want this to look, if you have a look around a closed you should see (if installed correctly) a nice 2/3mm gap all the way round it.
