Has Moral Orel been requested here before?
â@@ReptilesPwnRodents Oh, that's a good one! So many characters to analyze.
Have you seen *Infinity Train* and its characters? You'll find a lot to analyze with that show.
Your suit details are nice. Did you decorate the buttons or find them?
Edit. The red buttons they are cool.
Kinda surprised you left out the part where Crimson was being homophobic to Moxxie. I get why, I just thought it might also fit into the "being raised by a psychopath" thing. Maybe if you do a separate video on Crimson, though.
Moxxie's hesitance to assassinate a mother in the first episode hits different on the re-watch
Oh wow.... just realized this also. WOW
"Maybe a shitty dad or a mob family. That's understandable."
The imp on the rowboat was a male. Broad black and white stripes. Salley May is a trans woman btw.
â@@PhantomQueenOne The first episode of "Helluva Boss"
@@savvivixen8490 The psycho cannibal family?
Moxxie deserves a lot more praise than he gets for being a better person than his father.
Im honestly so sad he really hasn't gotten a big moment to show off, even in that episode. I know the joke is he is capable but bumbling but they couldn't even let cook when standing up to his father, Millie had to come and save him again.
He does get to cook in other episodes though, especially the ones against Striker. Pretty much all of Western Energy was him making a seven-course meal. The fact that Striker is a highly competent, dangerous assassin just makes Moxxie's ability to come out of those fights with only bruises shows how much he can actually hold his own against the right opponent.
He is a lot stronger emotionally than we all give credit for growing up in terrible environment and came out the other side stronger. I think he most of the things he ever really wanted a loving wife a nice apartment. I don't think he likes his job most of the time but hey two out three not bad moxie.
â@@audralegg6477 I mostly agree, but I think he loves his job as long as he's killing bad people. He has a great deal of respect for Blitz, almost like his boss is a less-sh**ty father figure for him. The very first episode had him learn that the people I.M.P. are hired to kill are often even worse than the sinner who wants them dead. (and even worse than the sinner thought they were, because... yikes. Being a homewrecker was the least of what that woman did.)
I'm so proud to say he's my number 1 favorite character of the HB series.
This awesome gentleman is so underrated.
He might be the weakest member of IMP in many people's eyes, but he's so strong for breaking the cycle of his dad's madness and be the best loving husband to his girl.
Moxxie is the perfect example of great person/Bad Environment but can still manage to outweigh the bad with his positivity.
Unfortunately, in real life it's not how that works.
Moxxie is a caricature. But even then, he is living in a setting where it's culturally acceptable to kill and steal from people.
In real life society says one thing, reality says another. Which is why people with Marshall and/or Criminal background become isolated.
Quirks and problems people get from that make them look ackward and unrelatable to normal people. And source of the problem often can't be addressed in Public.
and a support system
Killing people make you a great person?
Real, but he's also a serial killer.
*Assassin.
An assassin is a serial killer that gets paid.
Taught to be a monster, but learned to be a loving man.
The scariest part of this is that it actually happens. My father is a sociopath, and I've been taught several ways of how to hurt and kill people as well as how to commit crimes without getting caught, and it has caused me to develop a fear that I'll end up like him one day.
That's also an assassin
â@@ddm09u sure your dad aint an assasin instead of a sociopath/psychopath? It seems like hes trying to to tewch you his trade and that seems more wholesome than being the one abused yourself.
he's a *VIRGO*
lol, i loved when he said that
@@ddm09 as long as you keep that fear in mind, that's a good sign you'll probably be ok
One thing I noticed during the episode is just _how quietly_ Moxxie cries. You can barely even hear him whimper. That's probably an adaptive behavior too, learned to not draw attention to himself when processing his trauma so that Crimson won't see and decide he needs more "toughening up". This probably happened at least once.
Poor Moxxie...
As someone who learned how to silent cry, I'd say you hit the nail on the head. If your tormenters hear you crying, they WILL make you cry more.
I can already see future titles analyzing Helluva Boss; self loathing, abandonment, neglect, depression, self worth.
And that's just Blitzo!
good one @Shiftarus
â@@Shiftarus The o is silent.
â@@Shiftarus it's spells blitzĂž
One thing i noticed is that while we, the audience, know that Millie can easily handle whatever Crimson has to throw at her (as she proves later in the episode), Moxxie is blinded by the fear of his father. It's not that he thinks Millie is helpless, he's just too traumatized in the moment to remember that Millie could defeat an angry hippo in battle with one hand tied behind her back.
It reminds me of a story someone told of a circus elephant. When it was little, it was tied to a post, and try as it might, it couldn't break the rope or post. Now, as an adult, it never even tries even though it can easily move cars
With a father like that no wonder he acted the way he did in unhappy campers
Exactly! I know his attitude wasnât good, but he was never validated for his skills/passions by his dad, so heâs desperately wanting that recognition for it from the campers and to get the praise from Blitz at doing a good job.đ
Yup. Even though how he tries to interact with the campers threatens to give death by 2nd-hand cringe, you get WHY he acts like that, and why he's so constantly in need of validation from those close to him.
YES! This is a point a lotta fans don't seem to understand :
@@willparry530 oh thank you
@@Indie973 you wouldn't believe the number of people who try and tell me like that episode (Unhappy Campers) feels like a step backward in his development as a character, or that it feels just completely out of character for him.
One thing I've often wondered is if Moxxie went through a period where he hated seeing himself in the mirror because his face so strongly resembles his seed donor. Also, allegedly, Mafia families usually try to keep the kids away from the "Family Business", to the point where often they encouraging them to venture away and form their own paths. Itâs also highly frowned upon to harm your spouse. Crimson is a failure on EVERY front
"Wives are to be treated with respect." - 7th Mafia Commandment.
Interesting. I wouldn't know, I haven't done research into mafia families.
He kinda sorta did. He considers himself a Wrath imp because his Mom is from Wrath. So he hates the part of him he gets from his dad, but copes with it by focusing on his Mom
@@rosenrot234True
My favourite detail in this episode is when Moxxie opens up about his relationship with Chaz. Up until this point, Millie was confused/upset about her husband hiding all this stuff about his family/upbringing from her. Especially with how honest and communicative their relationship is. But as soon as Millie learns how much Chaz hurt Mox, and that his dad is forcing Mox to interact with Chaz, Millie immediately flips back to her feral protective mode. She doesn't know the full extent of Mox's trauma at this point, but she knows him well enough to see it anyway. She and Mox can talk about his secrets later. Right now, her husband doesn't feel safe, and THAT becomes her #1 priority.
This is why Millie is Best Girl. â€
One thing I've noticed is Moxxie when talking to Crimson he calls him "sir" instead of "Dad" which I say further shows how bad their relationship is.
And him calling blitzĂž âsirâ is probably an adaptive behaviour from having to do that with his family
Since when is it a bad sign to call your father sir? That's how we've always done it in my family
@@meiisbei5974 Well, it's mainly the fact of how tense things are.
Itâs also so interesting that the same actor is doing Moxxie and Crimson, because that means Moxxieâs inner voice sounds like his dad
I am impressed by Moxxie's actor's acting range.
â@Passions5555 Well he IS Zim.

No way
An important thing to remember about confronting violent people is that Moxie is a professional assassin who is there with his wife (a professional assassin) and his boss (a professional assassin.) Any given person reading this is probably none of those things.
This is one of the saddest episodes of the series and your analysis did it justice.
Oh that means so much to me thank you

I am sorry you had to endure that I hope things are well for you now
Mox having such a happy, loving marriage with Millie despite his family situation is so great. Great cosplay as always!
I love this cosplay, especially the suit and hair. I agree that Moxxie's mom's influence really made all the difference in how he turned out. And I'm glad he has Millie now. He deserves so much happiness after what Crimson put him through.
i like the look of the horns just fun. And yes I do think the mothers influence protected him
â@@GeorgiaDowI agree. By the way, how come you didn't mention where Crimson was mocking Moxxie's orientation?
If I do a video on Crimson thats where ill cover his homophobic and mocking nature. This was on trauma and violence
â@@GeorgiaDowAh, I see. Okay then.
@@GeorgiaDow I hope you do! I think there's a lot to unpack there :)
We mightâve found out that Crimson is a worst case psychopath in that episode, but we also got an epic Millie fight scene. One of the people in Moxyâs life that will stand by him no matter what, unlike most people in his life previously.
Watching Crimson's sense of control unraveling in that fight scene as Millie goes absolutely ham on his lackeys is just so satisfying.

This episode made me appreciate even more his dynamic with Blitz too. Blitz bullies Moxxie on the regular, and Moxxie NEVER ONCE let it slide, when possible, he always quips back. I noticed it way back then in the pilot episode, and seeing how Moxxie's been raised, I do appreciate how resilient he must be. Lots of stressors in his life and yet he finds stability and self confidence!
"Raised by a Psychopath" FAX! đ
Millie and Moxxie, Fizz and Ozzy are my absolute favorite couples. They round each other out so well!
I so want a Millie in my life.
I like that every time she does something like this she does a small costume to go along with it
I hope we see âUnhappy Campersâ because I wanna know why Moxxie always feels he has to be perfect and fit in and has a desperate need for attention.
I loved that episode and I felt like a lot of people didn't understand what was happening with him during it.
Moxxie had just finally stood up to Crimson, but wasn't strong enough on his own and had to be rescued.
He is feeling weak and desperate and dives headfirst into what is supposed to be his personal power fantasy.
Moxxie is going to perfectly execute an elaborate plan that impresses BlitzĂž.
Moxxie is going to be the sassy, popular, artistic, dominant, feminine "Moxxine", a charicature of everything that Crimson tried to beat out of him.
But the fantasy fails to materialize and his self esteem crashes and he lashes out at Millie, and when he does he reminds himself of Crimson and it terrifies him.
The first time I saw this HB episode I was just so shocked by Moxxie's past, especially the scene on the boat. The fact that he turned out so nice is amazing!
That scene triggered my rage x10 as much as seeing Valentino mess with Angel. I definitely want Moxxie to wreck Crimson in the future.
Moxxie's responses to the stressors in this episode feel authentic when you've lived through similar traumas -- everything from his fight-or-flight reaction on arrival to his withdrawn anxiety while there, and _especially_ his near-silent breakdown, come across like they're either very well-researched or directly inspired by personal experience. You can _feel_ the weight of the trauma he's carrying, which makes it all the more powerful when he finally stands up to the man at the heart of his trauma.
Honestly when Crimson killed his mother it couldâve been all down hill for Moxxi. I honestly want to know how he became such a loving person being raised by Crim.
He probably vowed to never become like this
He's honestly way too well adjusted. Unhappy Campers highlighted many toxic traits that he usually suppresses. So we know he isn't at all over his childhood trauma. But him being able to control It most of the time, grow as a person to treat Millie in the most respectful and loving way he can, and be the voice of reason for Blitz, It's honestly impressive. Many wouldn't have been able to survive this, mentally. Blitzo, in my opinion, crumbled for less, and wasn't stable even before his mother's death. Not to be unfair to Blitzo, people have different levels of sensitivity, and that's ok. It's just to notice the great mental strength that Moxxie possess.
22:30, In this sense, Blitz has actually been very good for Moxie. Yes he's a (sort of) authority figure who near constantly picking on him & shoving him around (& yes, he takes it too far sometimes), BUT in a way that Moxie feels comfortable enough to argue/push back, something he's probably never done before! In a roundabout sort of sense, Blitz's bullying has kinda of helped Moxie to practice, slowly develop a more sturdy backbone and help learn to stick up for himself more.
lutes horns really apply with almost every imp character in the show
I usually enjoy rewatching Helluva Boss episodes. This is the only episode I haven't been able to rewatch. When I first watched it alongside my husband, I wound up curled into a ball on his lap and sobbing. The episode could have had better trigger warnings and brought me right back to being a terrified child. From the mother helping him cut his food to the simmering rage Crimson directs at Moxxie when his mother helps...
When you first talked about moving onto the Helluva Boss universe but weren't sure about the interest, I expected that you would cover BlitzĂž and Stolas as they are arguably the two main characters and the ones with the most baggage. But I never expected that you would cover Crimson and Moxxie's upbringing!! What an absolute treat, and your outfits are perfect as always. Thanks so much for doing these!!
Yup. The repainted Lute horns even look exactly like Moxxie's!
She did cover those two
@@tahraethestoryteller6079 right, I meant that I figured she WOULD cover them, and that would probably be all
Moxxie's childhood was heartbreaking. I'm glad that he's starting to recover. It also puts some of the season 1 stuff in a new perspective.
After everything that Moxxie's father put him though he deserves to be with someone like Millie
He turned out well despite that issue in his life, i mean it couldve been way worse
M and M are a good couple, even when they're struggling they still turn to each other as soon as they get a moment to think more clearly.
Imagine being thought that kindness is weakness, watching your mom suffer the consequences and then still choose to be kind.
It's funny how every helluva boss video you've made so far are about terrible parenting
I mean, it has been shown to be a pretty running theme in the show.
Even though I think a lot of the criticism it gets for this is pretty overblown (which is sadly pretty typical at this point for anything Vivziepop makes. People just love to descend on that poor woman like a pack of rabid dogs), especially considering Mommy and/or Daddy Issues are the New Black for 2000's media, there really are a lot of bad parents/parental-type figures (like Mammon) that are just every shade of awful in this universe.
Which is also literal Hell though, so that also tracks.
This could just be me and my personal issue perceiving familial relationships, but i swear Crimson is really... creepy towards Moxxie.
Just because itâs a cartoon doesnât mean that it needs to be light all the time. Animation is for everyone, and the show is especially good at its characterization.
Truly horrific. I could always kinda tell Moxie had some kind of a sheltered childhood, but this was way worse then I had been expecting watching the show. He even hinted at it in the very first episode and it flew past me.
The plastic tips at the ends of shoelaces are called "aglets." Their true purpose is sinister.
Spill?!
@@Passions5555 lol It's a quote from The Question, from Justice League Unlimited, while he's being tortured. He never actually explains what that purpose is. đ€
@@ChaoticButterfly I haven't watched that show in years. đ
Moxxieâs upbringing definitely explains his high moral code because heâs seen the worse of demons and wants to not be like his dad. He also brings up being from Wrath because his mom was from there, even though he was raised in Greed, showing who he valued more.đâ€
Also, I loved that they hinted to Moxxieâs dad all the way back in episode one about him thinking it might be okay to off a mobster or a crappy dad.đ
Moxxie became everything Crimson wanted. He is a good assassin, has business acumen, and married a killer wife. But Crimson will only see Moxxie as weak.
I feel like Therapists are often poorly equiped in treating people with episodes of severe trauma.
Especially people from the type of environment that was showcased with Moxie.
For a person that is severely detached from normal and civil setting, they're outward Persona will be tailored in more detailed manner to be able to ineract with people from society.
By treating them from Pathological behaviors and unlocking different traumas, Psychotherapist (unknowingly) can expose them to people in they're environment who they can't trust, but treat them as friends or are dependent upon them.
You need to find a good specialist for sure and one with experience in its treatment thank you for sharing this important info
Well, Georgia, I was never related to any violent psychopaths by blood...but I did date a few. = ) So yes...they can be female as well. Challenging, because I was understandably not interested in meeting violence with violence involving a lady. However, with the male violent psychopaths I have encountered...I had NO hesitation in confronting them.
sorry about that and yes can be female as well
â@GeorgiaDow why thank-you Georgia! MUCH APPRECIATED!
The plastic tips at the ends of shoe laces are called aglets; their true purpose is sinister.
hehehe thanks for letting me know
A person of culture, I see
Poor Moxxie man. I watched my dad hurt my mom and my sisters and I when I was a kid and just confronted him about it literally last week. I'm happy to say because of that I've now gone no contact. He couldn't take responsibility for his actions and blamed my mother and tried to gaslight me into thinking my memories weren't real. I know I have ptsd and am claustrophobic because of actions he did while I was young. Sometimes thr best thing you can do is cut them off so they can't hurt you in any way anymore. I'm truly sad about it, but I know in my heart in the long run, it will be better for me emotionally.
That Moxxie has grown up to be such a loving and compassionate person despite his father's influence is a testament to the true strength of his character. I also love how the backstory shown in this particular episode gives more insight into why Moxxie was so reluctant to kill a family (a mom, specifically) in the first episode of the first season. He and Millie are such a healthy relationship, and stand out in contrast to the far less healthy ones all around them. I do hope you do an episode on their relationship, but also Millie's relationship with her sister Sallie Mae, now that the short's come out.
Moxxie's story isn't over yet. He still need to settle the score with his father. He needs put Crimson in his place. Crimson proves he's a coward and his control is very fragile. If IMP can get rid of Crimsons' bodyguards then Moxxie can fight him in a one-on-one fight. Moxxie has been bullied by everyone. Moxxie has proven to be a dangerous assassin his own right. Moxxie has some flaws; however, unlike Blitz, Moxxie is able to set things right. He has some things that Blitz doesn't have. I can see Crimson underestimating Moxxie if the two fight each other and Crimson will try to cheat, but Moxxie with the help of IMP defeat Crimson. Moxxie will disarm Crimson. Moxxie shoots him and injures Crimson. Crimson would expect Moxxie to finish him off; however, Moxxie refuse to kill him and thus humiliating Crimson. By defeating Crimson, it would be Moxxie taken back his power what his awful took from it. Moxxie will show him that Crimson will no longer control Moxxie no matter what. What can happen that Crimson snaps that he lost everything and tries to kill Moxxie; however, either Moxxie or someone kills him or Crimson accidentally gets himself killed. Crimson dies and before he dies he see Moxxie alive and well.
We need to more of Moxxie's full story. Moxxie shown that he's nothing like his father.
Moxxie doesn't need that. His revenge is living a happy, fullfilled life with a loving, supportive partner and a wonderful romantic relationship and having people around him who truly value him as a person, while it's obvious Crimson will go full orobourous and destory himself with his own greed and ego, dying alone in a ditch somewhere.
Violence or a giant cinematic showdown against your abuser is often the last thing that someone who has been a victim of abuse needs. In fact, taking that route often leads to the abused becoming abusers to others themselves.
@@AnInsideJoke Well there is a problem, Crimson isn't going to leave Moxxie alone because he didn't like that Moxxie defy him. In order for Crimson to stop, Moxxie will be forced to fight him. If Moxxie can beat him and humiliated him, not kill him, Moxxie would spare him just like Vaggie did to Lute. Crimson's pride and ego would be completely destroyed. Crimson can die by his own flaws after Moxxie defeats him. As long as Moxxie showed him not to mess with him again. Sparing Crimson would be very humiliating and adding insult to it that Moxxie surpassed his father in skill and being a better person.
I never said that Moxxie needs to be an abuser! Read my comment carefully. đ
I remember when I first saw this episode and was surprised that such a heavy topic was being shown by the show. But it only made me enjoy the dynamic that Moxxie and Millie have with each other all the more. I can only wonder just how imperative her relationship was with Moxxie in helping him adjust and cope after he left.
Trauma is stored in the limbic system
I can't wait until Millie's video, please incorporate the shorts with it
My dad refused to get treatment for his ASPD or to even acknowledge it, it led to an extremely toxic relationship with my mother, and an incredibly abusive relationship with me and my brother. So you doing this feels like Iâm being called out through moxie. I love my father and I know he loves me, in the way he is capable of loving, but he is an incredibly terrible man.
Yeah, this is a dark one. I'm just grateful that the full episode has liberal amounts of really silly humor inbetween these really heavy scenes, and a cathartic fight scene at the end. It would have been much too grim for the average viewer otherwise.
I'm really grateful that you dug into it and shared your professional insight in how these situations can play out in real life.
I would love to see a deep dive into the newest episode and Fizzarolli's issues with his self worth, his indebtness to Mammon, and the fact that he has two faces, Fizzarolli the performer, the face that everyone sees and loves when hes on stage or with his fans, and Fizzarolli the person, the real face underneath the mask that only the ones closest to him see.
I love how his boss is shown to care more then he lets on. He often acts aloof, but he used sex as a tool to gain information that allows them all to resolve the situation later. His experience tells him a direct attack on someone as dangerous as this is not often the best response.
I went threw that. I turned to art, art and music is the only thing that brings me peace.
Can't sleep without music, if it's to quiet my mind goes to bad places.
I think you should totally do a therapist analysis on the amazing digital circus. There's just twwo episodes right now, but as it goes on and we learn more about the characters, I would love to see that!
Agreed! I'd prefer she wait for more episodes to come out, but once they do I'd love to see some analysis on the characters.
A warning to people who have dissociative disorders, digital circus can trigger massive dissociative episodes.
I know my body physically sat through the show. I didn't get much out of it though.
In your last video you asked about Blitzo and horses, and you can see his fixation with horses on the whiteboard and on the photos in the first two minutes of this episode
He also constantly carries tiny horses on him which is kinda funny.
"MY RESEARCH!!!" đ
In the boat scene, I've read a comment that says that the mom says "i love you" over and over, knowing Moxie was there
That wasn't his mom, it's a male imp I thought he said "please I have a family". His father took Moxie's mom to the lake earlier hence why she was missing.
The new addition stirred up the lake to release stuff at the bottom
Growing up like Moxie I can assure you that sticking up for yourself mostly just leaves you clinging to life after a near escape. If Iâve learned one thing in life itâs that sticking up for yourself means death but itâs worth sticking up for others.
I love how soft and gentle your tone was in this episode, not that its ever the opposite but you could really tell The care and consideration you wanted to put into the points you made for a topic as messed up as thisâ€
Thanks so much it was a rough episode Iâm happy I was soothing about it
Beautiful cosplay as always and perfect character analysis as always
Thank you so much = )
I would love to see your analysis of âunhappy campersâ season 2 episode 5. I feel like what happens between Moxxie and Millie in that episode and within themselves is completely misunderstood by most people who watch it.

Please do character analysis of The amazing digital circus if you get a chance. They have so many classic trauma responses and coping mechanisms
Someone pointed it out last time, but you're REALLY getting your mileage out of those Lute horns lol.
Hope you do one on Striker. He doesn't have too much screen time, but he reveals a lot about himself and his mindset in a short amount of time.
Plus a chance for a cowboy cosplay!
I have cptsd and childhood trauma. Iâve watched this episode countless times and it had such an impact every time but I didnât fully grasp that it was because I was so deeply connecting to Moxxie until watching your analysis of the episode.your videos are amazing thank you for doing what you do!
Another thing about crying alone scene was he was doing slient. I used to do it my abusive parent would come into my room and yell at me more.
When I watch this episode, when it originally aired, I knew why I related to Moxxie so much, this is maybe two days out of a childhood.
Moxxie is still abit broken but has done well. Finding Millie and even Blitz helped, but so did the fact he was strong enough to get out and find a better group for him.
Also IIRC after this episode he seems to have more confidence (unless the writers want to be lazy about that like the camping episode)
Making yourself better isnât always easy. For every good days, there are bad ones. I like the head cannon that unhappy campers comes before Exs and Ohs; mostly because it would give a greater meaning to Moxy saying that hurting Millie is worse than fearing his father
I really like your cosplays of each character maybe I should pay you to make my Halloween costumes đ
The shoelace plastic piece is called an aglet
I had the fun of being 'raised' by a narcissistic psychopath father. Took a couple years of therapy and cutting him out of my life to get back to an even keel. I'll still mention things and my husband and friends will tell me "that's not normal."
This makes me feel better about how Moxxie behaved in Unhappy Campers. Dude is extraordinarily well adjusted after all of that!
Moxxieâs one of my faves from the show. His coffee order was ridiculous đ
12:05 Anyone else started singing the aglet song from Phineas and Ferb?
One of the most interesting things to me is that Moxxie's mom did teach him to use gun BUT on dummies which means she wanted him to learn how to protect himself. NOT to be a killer/murderer.
I'm starting to see why I'm always waiting on pins and needles, waiting for the next disaster, waiting for the next instance of bad new, always waiting for something to happen.
I really love how compassionate and kind your analyses are! I'm so glad you decided in favour of doing Helluva Boss too!
Glad you like them!
Moxxie Episode lets GOOOOOOO! he's such an underrated character, and its been said before but I'll say it again- not all animation/cartoons are kids appropriate, and can get as dark and mature as this does. Well done.
You can tell that the program is strong when even a therapist is impressed XD
The warning is very tender, taking into account that we already know what the program is like
As someone who had a narcissistic father who abused his mother to the point she gave into alcoholism for nearly two decadesâŠ
Moxxies episode hit so close to homeâŠI managed to not fall into the same trappings but god it was so hard. Not feeling loved and helpless made me seek out that love in relationships which went about as well as a wet fart in church and people could tell I was dealing with issues.
Iâm lucky I found my Millie about a year agoâŠbut she also hasnât met my father because I cut him off since he couldnât go one message without being racist and my wife is Asian.
I found caring for Guinea pigs and my dogs gave me the affection I needed.
YESSS MOXXIE!!! finally someone talking about him
I hadn't expected a Moxxie video, but I'm so glad you focused on him. Loved the analysis!
13:48 This is called forced perpetuation, abusers in organized abuse love to do it to kids as soon as possible so they belive that if they go for help they'll be in trouble too.
Sometimes as a kid in these situations you'll grow up with the memory of being forced to kill several people, or worse. It's something I'd only wish on the people who do this to kids. I know people who were victim to this, both living and some who died in the process.
It's sweet how you felt moved by Moxxie's situation. This episode was so heavy. If you do further episodes on Helluva Boss, I'm very curious about your analysis on how Moxxie has difficulty on socializing due to his insecurities and not learning it properly on his childhood, like you said that could happen with Stolas.
One of the most important things someone said about my disorder (DID) is that its your brain doing its very best to keep you alive. And i can't hate my brain for having done that. The fallout isn't ideal, but my brain got us here, even if it did so in pieces.
Unrelated, but Richard Horwitz is absolutely awesome as a voice actor. He voices both Moxxie and Crimson, and does an amazing New York accent.
Watching this analysis of Moxxi's relationship with a sociopath/psychopath brought to the fore some of my own trauma and dark, overwhelming thoughts
Thanks to you i just discovered what "compound trauma" means.
I knew i was underestimating my trauma. Thank you!
yayyy 30 minutes long video on Moxxie!
the fact moxxie and crimson is voiced by the same guy Richard Horvitz and he can do it so differently is amazing!
This episode explains alot on how he reacted to killing the cannibal mother, how he reacted at camp but also the sheer ruthlessness precision with hand to hand combat with a touch of apathy when he fought the desert cowboys in Wrath. The way he strangles one of them, fills up the van and checks his phone so when hes not being judged hes a skilled killer like his dad. While when there are others around hes more comfortable with guns and is a bit more meek
very true !!
I'm really thankful you're going through these heavy episodes. The show can be really raw, but that might be the aesthetic that really connects to some people. And after so many videos, you're someone we can trust to go to the places we are not that comfortable with.
