    I bought mine 2 days ago in an Indian wholesale supermarket (that’s open to the general public) it was hard, green and knobbly on the outside. I’d left it in my bag and when I picked it up to fridge it 36 hours later, it fell apart in my hand so had ripened very quickly - had to eat it there and then !
    Mine was a pale yellow colour inside with big black seeds, lovely custard flavour and very sticky ! Going to plant my seeds - don’t expect any fruit off them because it’s not warm enough in England, but if they make a nice looking plant, that’s all that matters ! At least they will be a talking point in my little garden !

    To me it's a similar case as cheese, the texture is kind of weird(to me) but the taste makes up for it greatly. Definitely worth a try.

    In Sydney Australia cherimoya seldom available ready to eat. Good point Kimberly - once blackened seldom edible. So - how to ripen - some say: just leave at room temp (20 Deg. ish) until feeling softish. Another suggestion is: place in a paper bag with lumps of charcoal at room temperature to regulate ethylene environment- seemed to work but not sure that it is better than leaving at room temperature.

    I bought one today and watched your video when trying to find out what the hell to do with it. It's fucking amazing!!! Expensive here in England, though.

    If you dryvyhe seeds out take 500 and let them dry out and crush into a powder.. Then cook down the powder with a tiny little syrup.. Then drink it. In a while you can't walk. It's good if your in a wheel chair on pain. No pain from neck down.. Cool to eat aswell..

    It's like a super smooth heavenly pear, not grainy what's so ever like pears though

    • @Splexsychiick
      @Splexsychiick Před 4 lety

      Depends on the sugar content of the fruit and the type of sugar apple. The flesh can sometimes become grainy. Especially the lumpy skin ones.

    • @cokaneds
      @cokaneds Před 4 lety

      Like a pear? Nah it tastes way better than a pear and the texture is super smooth, closer to mango (if it's ripe enough). It must be super high in sugar because it's the, if not one of, sweetest fruit I've ever tasted. And I've had many.

      That is amazing! I have a number of trees in pots - only a few years old. I'm hoping one day I will get some fruit. Problem is I'm in Canada. It never seems to be quite a long enough hot season for them. Do you use the leaves for tea or medicine, by chance, Mukesh? Kimberly

      @@shamsta21 lol this is a more accurate interpretation of the fruit flavor. Lol no way would it have a flavor similar to a mango or kiwi. Still yours was probably over ripe. Yours sounds like the one grown in the Carribbean and west indies. Sugar apples ripe really fast.
