My brain was literally melting during the whole live 😭
I’m very glad that Beach House has gotten the recognition they always deserved. I remember when Devotion came out, me and my ex girlfriend used to be like kittens in a box listening to that album. In my opinion, it’s their masterpiece. And that was what… 2008? For a while, it seemed like the entire planet was sleeping hard as could be on BH, then one day I started seeing their songs in skate videos, started seeing vids of theirs getting tens of millions of views, and it felt good, since it hurt my feelings thinking Victoria and Alex were not even making a living off this lush glorious art.
Then one day, BAM! They are doing it.
Same exact thing happened with Tame Impala, Innerspeaker came out (again their masterpiece) and me and my friends listened that album to death. I went to see them play a show, and there wasn’t even maybe 100 people there. 10 years later and they are HUGE.
Granted both bands grew to styles unlike their origins, but their early stuff is so amazing that they didn’t have to make another note for me to be content and for their mark to have been made in me.
I’ve listened since 2015 and devotion is my favourite from them, still love their other stuff. But there’s something about devotion that I just love
Facts, I found both of these bands because of movies and TV shows, after that, I knew it was a matter of time for them to become famous, a Tame Impala beach house collab could heal the world

I found them back in 2015 when a friend kept spamming me with Wild Nothing clips. I sort of liked the vibe and branched out from there and discovered space song, and have never looked back. I don't even talk the dude anymore, but I'm forever grateful to the fellow for unintentionally bringing beach house into my life
This is so Devotion. I fell in love with them on that album also. This song is so dreamy 🥰

Things will get better. I was there a couple months ago. I tried to focus on mini accomplishments and see how they built every day. I noticed they grew every day and I found an individual confidence that I seriously lacked at the time. Hope you can try it out if you’re still in that state and see if it helps. What an opening track for the new album. They keep evolving and growing, yet stay true to their own unique sound. Find another group that consistently brings it like they do. I've known them since the very beginning, and 14 years later they're still bringing me so much joy.

There is something hypnotic about the synthesized bridge of this song. It brings something so visceral to my heart. I absolutely play this song on repeat. I can’t explain it , but it guides me through many emotions. I love it.

The animation here really reminds me of how memories seem to look. Details blinking in and out as they’re being remembered- and perhaps equally imagined- with mostly black and white and speckles of colour here and there. Kinda surreal, I like it.

I loved this song the first time I heard it. When I arrived back home, I did some internal research & googled Beach House & located this tune that is etched into my mind. I stated to our daughter, Kelly, that everything is "googleable" & she just started working there. We all hope for a Beach House in the future & reference to this tune. Humble comment

I've loved beach house since their beginnings, they came to Washington to perform and get this new album out for fans, I was so broke and wasn't able to get the tickets on time for me and my little brother, omg it had to be on the worst month of my life that they were here, I was so sad we didn't make it but I got up and walked just right past the venue around the back doors where the tour buses we're and I heard Beach House through the walls jamming to "Once twice melody" and my brother and I felt as if we were there right in the front rows, it made my night! Just seeing the happiness light up in my brother and his gratitude of being right next to his favorite band made me so happy! Beach House is the best band out there! So original and Raw talent! I don't think they'll be in Washington for another few years but I'll try to see them in California some day.

Trippy gorgeous, layered masterpiece
Victoria and Alex make music in such a way that feels like a side job. As if there are numerous, deeper projects inside their lives that are cradled by their music. These songs act merely as a script, for us, (the outer world) to hear, decipher, & choose who they are for US, and who we need them to temporarily be for us. There's a million streams in these songs.
I don't think I would ever want to understand beach house. It wouldn't appeal to me. I prefer it this way.
