Resistance bands are the next big thing, especially with more people now working out at home. When people think of working their abs and core, they don’t think of using resistance bands. Well today, I am going to give you the 5 best resistance band exercises for abs and core. A lot of you have been asking where you can get the resistance bands, very easy, you can find them on Amazon and get them in no time. 4 of the 5 exercises today will have the anchor placed at the top of the door. Now, let’s get started with these 5 resistance band exercises for abs and core.
Exercise #1: KNEELING CRUNCH. Start away from the door with your knees on the ground, having the bands preloaded with tension. Bring your head to handles of the bands, and you are going to focus on bringing your elbows to your knees. When you crunch, hold the squeeze for a couple of seconds. Control the resistance bands throughout the full range of motion, and it is okay to have a rounded back in this exercise. Don’t focus as much on pulling the handles down, but more on squeezing your abs.
Exercise #2: HIGH TO LOW WOOD CHOPPER. This is a unilateral exercise, with 10-12 reps on each side. Have a wide stance with this exercise, and you are going to pull down and to the side. This is a great exercise for you to work your obliques. Focus on keeping your arms locked in front of shoulders, making sure to twist your chest while contracting your abs.
Exercise #3: STANDING ALTERNATING KNEE CRUNCH. Start with the bands above your head, and you are going to crunch down while bringing one knee up at the same time. This is similar to a machine you would use at the gym, except with this exercise, all you need are resistance bands. Really squeeze and hold the contraction at the top of the movement.
Exercise #4: KNEELING SIDE TO SIDE CRUNCH. This exercise focuses on your abs and your obliques. As you bring the bands down, you will be touching your opposite elbow to your opposite knee. Hold the position at the bottom of the crunch movement to really feel the burn in your abs and obliques.
Exercise #5: LYING KNEE TO CHEST. The anchor is going to be at the bottom of the door for this exercise. This exercise requires very little resistance. Bring your hands to the side of your head, and you want to crunch and bring your knee to your chest.

Here’s the thing. czcams.com/users/postUgkxS7ex6L4sMqpaTn4LnBPyBmRQsSingL8y These are not meant to be stretched to 12ft or 14ft or whatever else where you’re a 6ft person, stepping in the band and trying to do standing shoulder presses. If they tear, (assuming they’re not defective) then you’re trying to stretch them way too far. For a full body stretch, bands should be like three feet long, doubled over. Don’t buy the bad press. A fully extended reverse fly is avoid as far as you should stretch these. If it’s too easy, use more than one band at a time.Not rocket science.
I'm 67 and just started on bands. I have found some videos on CZcams but yours are far the best. You explain everything clearly, even what your muscles are doing. And don't need a ton of exercises. Thanks a bunch. By the way, I hope I'm not insulting you when I say you resemble G W Bush.

I love working with resistance bands. I’ve been doing it for about four years, and I’m 69 now. This is a really good demonstration. I’m going to try including theses exercises in my routine. I want to humbly suggest that the breathing needs to be coordinated so that we exhale through the exertion movement, rather than when the movement is finished. Again, great demonstration! Thanks!

I first found you looking for shoulder workouts at home and purchased fitness bands. Just getting started but seeing results after about 4 weeks. Your advice about EVERYONE having shoulder issues is what impressed me most. Putting a routine together still but each day feeling stinger. Added Zinc Magnesium and Tongkat Ali daily and feel more energetic. At 60 and a vet I know the results won’t be overnight but I will get there. Thanks for the great videos!

Love your videos! Great exercises for me to do! My problem is that I have two arthritic knees so I can’t kneel so what is your suggestion for me?
I bought a set of bands that came with 2 sets of handles and one door anchor. I bought another anchor online and I set up with an anchor at both the bottom and the top at the same time. I can then set up for different exercises from both anchor points without having to move the anchor.

Yes I like your resistance bands workouts videos I resistance bands training all the time and you can also do leg raises with anchor bottom of the door
If you really want to get a pump resist the band from pulling you back. I've been doing these for a while and find if you slow the recoil you really get that feeling in the abs. Slow out and slow back.

Breath in at the beginning of the movement and exhale at the end will cause your stomach to collapse and really work the core. You cane do this anytime and for exercise of the core.
I think I have to use the 50 pounds both because this resistance not doing much

Thank you that was a very detailed video of each exercise explaining in detail what each one does but only one thing all resistance bands are not created equal because I ordered a set and they did not have much range of motion at all they say you get what you paid for I paid like $18 for the set but now I'm purchasing a set for $32
