It worked out perfectly. Our little one had a little trouble and came out 5 weeks early. This content plus the birth coaching classes I took really took the labor and delivery to the next level. Ours is 2.5 years old now and is perfect. I shared this with my husband, however, what I found in labor was that I needed peace and quiet. No one to bother me, no one to talk to me, I had to focus on breathing and I was able to remain calm and peaceful throughout labor just by simply being left alone lol
The only thing that I requested my husband to do once in a while was to do the hip squeeze, but his squeeze was not the strongest and I had to squeeze on top of his hands to show him the strength....but eventually he got it. By the time he got it we had to go to the hospital, but all in all it was a great experience.

I can relate to your husband maybe he wasn't feeling exactly this way but, I think mom's forget how foreign pregnancy is to us. The last thing we want to do is cause you pain, injure/bruise something, or hurt the baby. Mom likes the hip push and belly lift but it takes a minute to get it right because we don't want to hurt her or baby.

    • @anam.aria.
      @anam.aria. Před 2 lety +2

@@3d1k3 yes, for sure, and I understand this. I was the same with my first labor, I couldn't be touched at all. For my second labor which was absolutely amazing I was the same. Even my midwife tried to press on my back by her glove was too cold and I didn't like it and she didn't try it again. Some women don't like touch in these moments, some need to be held, etc. It's all different and it's all ok 🙂

    1) Help Oxytocin Flow (be intimate with her to help flow the love hormone) this will help progress delivery.
    2) Set the mood. (For her to relax) Candles, bath, music, dim lights.
    3) Recognize her emotions. If she’s happy, be happy with her, if she’s playful, be playful with her. If she she’s angry or concerned, reassure her.
    4) Move with her (help her reposition or move from spot A to B)
    5) Help find her comfort. (You know her best) get her comfortable.

Thank you so much for all your videos. I had a great labor without any anesthetics, just having my husband and positive energy and thoughts as support. I’m German but gave birth in France where 85-95% of birth are not “natural” and the mid wifes are not used to unmedicated birth. My hubby was doing everything to keep me in a great atmosphere with calm music and positive thoughts. I dilated from 2-8 cm in only 3 hrs and 1,5 h later our baby boy was born.
I felt full of energy and had no pain during pushing. Your affirmations and CZcams videos were a great support during all pregnancy, especially during Covid-19 period without any direct support. Thank you for your positive spirit! :)

They induced her at 6pm that day, we couldn’t eat after 12am and then the next day they gave us the epidural too early and we were forced to have a C section because things weren’t working. After watching this video my husband and I got extremely excited about labor and delivery this time around. We strongly believe we can make this one a much better experience! One thing I remember from my last pregnancy that I would tensed up and required absolute SILENCE along with holding my breath. This time around I strongly believe that I will breath through the contractions and would we ok with listen to songs my husband dedicated to me during our dating stage. ^__^ I love the idea of him holding me or giving me a soft touch on my shoulder or legs. I love getting goose pumps from him!

Hi Bridget, thank you for your educational videos to empower us mamas and soon to be mamas like me.
I feel more confident with my pregnancy and I know how to better prepare for what comes next, from the knowledge you’ve been sharing with us.
Before I got pregnant, I was all about epidural and c-sec if they need to, any method to safely deliver the baby. Thought it’s a no brainer, whatever is painless is the one I’ll pick, but reality is different.
Now that I’m 25 weeks pregnant, I realize that it is not easy to make a decision. I want to be able to have control over my labor, but I don’t know which method is right for me.
I feel silly, but I simply can’t pick either vaginal (drug free/with epidural) or caesarean. Would you please make a pros and cons video of the available labor methods and the recovery.
Hopefully from there, us new mamas would be able to see which one is more suitable for us and help us have a more positive birth experience. Thank you in advance Bridget! ❤️

While you are a very good and informative speaker, I think you should know, that I’ve skipped video topics you cover (even when I prefer you to other speakers on birthing topics), because you interject your videos with WAY too much self promotion. This video had multiple interruptions for only 5 tips, and you even separated the partner support topic into multiple other videos that you ALSO recommend. We only have so much time each day to prep for baby, and just getting together at the same time to watch videos to prepare is a challenge. Nearly 13minutes for only 5 simple tips and multiple self promotion interruptions is excessive.

@@Rae-kw4ov I like how your barely functional little brain thinks because someone disagrees with you, they’re doing it for attention. I know your people like to ruin things cause that’s like your little thing but this is a place for moms and partners to get support, not for you to push your ridiculous agenda and cause drama. For the sake of your child I hope you mature. This will be my last reply because I don’t want to feed into your negativity and help you further ruin this environment.

@@theflyingegg3557 I wasn't being negative at all, though?? simply stating that trans and non binary people give birth too and it'd be nice to be recognized. Not sure why someone would think that's a negative thing.
you're right though! this is a video for moms! and that includes non binary and trans moms, because it's a Fact, not my "agenda" that they're mom's too!
Please reread this interaction because if you take a step back it's plain to see that YOU are the one being negative, causing drama, and spreading my "agenda" (like, really, who seriously says that kind of thing LOL) by coming into this video, rolling your eyes passive aggressively, and then saying I have a tiny brain because I didn't like you being a jerk to me.
I just I love her videos but being constantly misgendered sucks. I'm just speaking from the non binary pregnancy experience. If something about that "ruins" anything you, simply put, you're a transphobe/TERF.

Changing language to cater to a SMALL minority of people is a really ridiculous expectation in a video like this.

Honestly Generic bullet points , thanks for wasting time telling me to watch 10 of your other videos to really find the answer I was hoping to find in this one. Remember this is men searching for these answers we don't need to be told to 'set the mood' during a childbirth. I think that is a given ...
