- Not much to say here... I bought this untested Xbox 360 from Goodwill, and when I opened the box up, it had a very interesting smell...

Those stickers came free in some copies of Gears 3, so there would have been a lot of them about.
The Gears 3 stickers came with all he copies of Gears of War 3. So basically, anyone with an Xbox who played gears got those stickers. I still have mine on the sheet in the game case.
It could possibly smell like that if the previous owner had a wax melt warmer on at all times in the house cinamon is a very popular scent

Those stickers came with the gears of war 3 common case game, that´s why everyone has it in their consoles. i put mine on my firts sony LCD TV
Another reason it might smell like cinnamon. I wonder if that Goodwill had some of the holiday cinnamon pinecones around the console and the dust inside the console soaked up the smell or the card board packaging was around it either or.
3:19, it actually is possible to get an Xbox 360 Slim with an NXE dashboard, however the Xbox 360 slim has to have came out in the very first months of the slim coming out and it needs to have never been updated, the NXE dashboard was still the latest dashboard when the slim came out, it's very rare to find a slim with the NXE dashboard though.
Hi there; usually capacitors may make the smell, from my experience - I would suggest looking at that just in case !

I had a console similar in smell. Its from someone using a carpet dusting product near an xbox while its on. it sucks the dust in and it stays there. or its some sort of incense
I have one that smells not like cinnamon but it has kind of a sweet smell to it and I don't know why. Bought it last year as untested because of the special controller and because it's a phat jasper with internal storage and I have never seen a phat console with on board storage. Only saw that on the slim console. adapted it as my Main 360. I cleaned it out and gave it new paste and it still smells like that. But no leaking capacitors or anything.
The 360 you kept at Grandma's house, she bakes a lot and smokes clove cigarettes.
Probably had a candle warmer / oil diffuser running in their house, the dust will collect the scent. I've seen this in laptops and consoles I've serviced.

I put the same exact stickers on my 360, almost identical to that. One of the Gears of War games came with those stickers. If your still wondering.

No jacob he has 13000 gamscores but the amount of gamescores he could because of the games he played. Let's say the game has 1000 gamescores you can get, but you only have 400 it would say 400/1000
Why gears of war 3 stickers? It is because gears of war used to be a huge franchise, and the hype was huge with the 3rd release. The 3rd game came with stickers, and a bunch of us kids didn’t know what to do with them, so we plastered them on our Xboxs lol. My Xbox has gears of war stickers on it. I’m gonna take some alcohol to it eventually and get them all off

Gears was the game to play with your group back in the day. PVP or Horde, that shit was fire. Some of my best memories. Even i had a GOW sticker on my og console. haha

LOL you did the same thing i did with the xclamp removal tool. You tried to pry against the motherboard. you insert the tool in the slit between the x part and where clamp makes contact with the board. had a tool for years but used a screwdriver till i sat down and actually learned how it worked. this was about 6 months ago

The reason you see so many gears stickers is becayse some versions of gears 2 and all of gears 3 came with a tickers anyone that was a fan basically stuck that shid on because to a late teen/early 20 yr old a skull was cool!

I picked up a xbox 360 slim in a thrift store for like 20$, it only has a single problem. While it reads discs and while you play it makes a loud sound, installing the games makes it disappear, but weirdly enough some disc games doesn't make the sound.

When you bought Gear of war 3 you would get stickers so that’s why so many Xbox 360 have them
Those Gears of War stickers are probably from a game because some Gears games include those stickers.
My 360 phat (Jasper) started smelling nutmeg "ish" 6 months before it RRoD. In fact the smell filled all my room.

Bro, no joke, mine is exactly the same right down to the sticker placement and the glossy black finish. This is reinforced by the fact when I got the Slim back in the day I had a plug in air freshener that I put cinnamon scent into. I had to give my console a double take to make sure it was still in my closet. Even more hilarious, just like yours, mine has suffered the red dot of death (the slims variant of the red light of death) so it's been sitting in my closet awaiting an eventual repair.
Weird, when I buy my GPU's from them, I get the same cut up boxes and I swear I tasted egg and cinnamon.

Ok here's my theory. I bet this came from someone who lived with their grandparents in an old log cabin. Old ppls homes usually smell funny and the counsel was sitting there collecting old ppl skin flakes that are now all over ur room.
