I find it quite interesting that the wood in some of the small bunkers was in such good shape. Glad you have the stamina to make the hike onto the island. The exercise and fresh air must be good therapy for your lungs! Thank you for taking us along for the adventure guys!
First we thank YOU for your great support my friend. Then yes there are still some very interesting places out there and very glad we can share them with you. Thanks and we send a greeting your way :)
When I hear Eagle Eyes thanking everyone for their amazing support you know what a difference you guys and girls are making to HH and EE. Amazing location and great footage, stunning location. Thanks everybody.
You're the best and yes EE is really doing so well out there and that is thanks to all the great people :)
@@WW2HistoryHunter Cool video! Respectfully, there is too much focus on support and thanking. It's better to do it once per video at the most. Just letting you know because probably no one else wants to be the a-hole who says it. I say this with helpful intent. You can delete this message.
When you said stinging nettles, it brought back a great memory. My cousins and me were in the field with grandma and she would stop at a plant run in and over her hands grabbing the plant in her hands and she asked us to do the same. Most were nothing , but she did this with stinging nettles. We grabbed the plant once and NEVER AGAIN and today.. Thank you HH and EE for this wonderful memory. I'm quite sure the soldiers serving there were more than happy to leave this island and any invaders would turn tail and run once they hit the nettles. What a perfect way to use flora as a means of protection saving ammunition. Great video my friends thanks for the memory, now remember to stay healthy, be safe and be careful.
There you go the elderly knows best :) Such a great explore and thanks for your great support Ted :)
Thank YOU for bringing me along!! Incredible location.! Looking forward to the rest of this road trip !
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic and beautiful location . Thanks so much history hunter and eagle eyes, all the supporters 💜💜💜💜👍👍👍 glad you are starting to feel better.
Very glad you liked it and thanks Wendy :)
You are absolutely right. What a stunning view. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
You are very welcome
What a beautiful place. Soldiers must of loved being there.
Great explore and we loved to share that :)
Probably not so nice in winter.
Depending on the mosquitoes, they probably hated it after awhile. But I bet they would rather be there than on the Eastern front playing with the Russians.
They hated it. These were young healthy men. No women.
Yes, but not in the winter then Lofoten is hell on earth😀
What a beautiful island. I'm glad you made it to your dream location. It was nice to hear EE saying thank you to everyone for helping. You can tell he loves being out there exploring with you. Thank you for the tour and can't wait for part 2. Stay safe my friend.
So am i and yes EE is very grateful for the incredible things he get to do out there and that is thanks to incredible people like yourself Allen and we thank you for that :)

Hi my friend
Simply breathtaking, the view just takes your breath away. Thank you and EE for letting us walk along with you.
Glad you enjoyed it my friend and yes sometimes it can be very scenic at some locations and loving that. Greetings from us and be safe out there :)
A beautiful, but most likely a lonely duty station for the German troops! The place must have had an incredible amount of fencing material based on the rusty piles of barbed wire. I would think the barrier between the water and the defensive positions would have been very formable! Especially with the land mines in place! Thanks for taking us around on the island and showing us all the trenching and bunkers, great history lesson! Stay safe and stay well!
If I was a German soldier back then I would rather have been there instead of brutal
battlefields .
It would have been a delightful posting .
The choice of 'stunning' is spot on. What beautiful scenery and expert use of the terrain and best of all, so untouched that we get to see original wood still in place. Thanks for braving the nettles and mosquitos and the rough terrain to bring us this unique experience. EE it must feel like the mozzies hate you when they descend on you in droves!!! Stay safe and well. Looking forward to part 2.❤
So untouched it's unbelievable can't wait to see more from the site great work you two.
Thanks so much!
Stunning is the word. Beautiful location. I love how you paint the picture of the background information that helps us understand everything. Thank you for the huge effort you make to get to these tough locations.
Thank you so much!
What stunning views. I love this location and I'm so glad you got to see it. Very cool 🙂
That island and the views, oh my gravy!!! Absolutely loved it!!! Thanks for sharing this remote area; such a stunning area!!! Stay safe and well....smile
Thanks you so very much Colleen :)
Spectacular location! I can see why it was on your bucket list! Looking forward to the next episode!👍👍
Thanks! 👍
Must have been an incredible experience being on that island all alone. Glad that you got to make your dreams come true.
Incredible it was and we thank you for your great support :)
Cool hat EE. 😊 Such gorgeous scenery, but right you are EE, you don't want to be tortured by stinging nettles and mosquitoes. That one area did look like a lunar landscape. There sure was a big pile of thin German barbed wire. Quite a network of trenches still intact. Once again the Germans used the natural resources in that area to build their bunkers, anti-aircraft gun positions, etc. Thank you for the mention. I hope your lungs continue to heal and that your means of income is back to normal. Thank you for taking us inside of the bunker. That place IS stunning. It is an untouched gem. Must of have been so exciting for you. Looking forward to learning more. Stay safe you two. ❤
EE is wearing any has like a king i feel :9 Such a great place to see and experience. Thanks so much for your incredible support and be safe out there :)

What fabulous views! So green as well. Definitely not used to seeing that deep a green here in the high plains desert. Thanks for sharing this wonderful adventure with all of us.
Thanks so much James and more to come :)
Ha, I follow a guy who does vids exploring ancient sites in Utah, Colorado and so on, as well as Wonderhussy and her life in the Nevada desert. I find them fascinating because I'm in a temperate zone which is lush and green (UK).
@@user-se7es6uc8v Love Wonderhussy's adventures. Lots of great places to explore unfortunately until I get knee replacements I'm stuck enjoying the discoveries of others.
Such a very very beautiful place!!!! Fantastic video guy’s😎👍👍 Thank you so much Guy’s for your dedication for history!!!!

Fantastic views. I hope you feel better.
Great video, thank you.
Appreciated my friend :)
Beautiful location and excellent history! Thank you, my friends!
Glad you enjoyed it
This island must have been a lonely duty post for the German soldiers. The terrain looks rough and I would expect it was quite cold in the winter. The huge piles of rusty barbed wire were so easy to see in the terrain, it took a lot of labor to pull it all down and gather it into the piles. That bunker with the original wood in it was impressive! The scenery in the distance was quite beautiful with the snow covered mountains. Thanks for hiking all over the island and taking us along and showing us this location! Stay safe and stay well!
Yes Donald , must have been quite a task during winter times. This is pure beauty i think and it was a total experience to be there and see what the Island was all about. Loved it and part 2 coming soon. Be safe and greetings from us.

This is just the beginning my friend. We shall share greatness for you to enjoy. Thank you for your incredible support and that enables us to go out and find and share even more great history. Thank YOU and be safe out there :)
Brilliant video about the lost island
Thanks for watching.
Such a beautiful area. This place was an amazing explore. All of those fortifications just so they could have the control of the waterway. They were very intelligent in their defensive measures. 💖💯
Loved it and we thank you Julie for being here with us :)
You were right with your discription, this place is amazing. Nature takes it back, and preserves it for us to see. EE, you and HH are most welcome to our small contributions, as the reward for is, is to hear you so happy, and to see some amazing history. I cannot wait fpor part 2 from this island fortess, thank you so much for sharing. Stay safe and well my freinds
We agree , that location is truly stunning and beautiful to explore and look into. Thank YOU for your fantastic support towards what we do. Be safe out there in you mission with the kadets :) Greetings from us.
What a view of the mountains from the island would love to be there with you , did you find other German artifacts while you was exploring? Can't wait for part 2 thank you HH EE for all you bring us.
We found lots of interesting things and will share more later. Thanks.
Another great video.
Thanks again!
What a stunningly beautiful spot. The view alone would be worth the trip. But, it still amazes me to see the time, and effort, that the Germans put into fortifying even the most remotest part of the coast against the Allies. I would hate to think what that island was like in the middle of a winter storm. Definitely not somewhere I'd like to be stationed during the cold northern winters. HH and EE, kudo's to you guys though, for ploughing your way through all those nettles, and the mosquitos. That would not have been easy. So glad that we could make this trip happen, and that you finally got to see "your island", and that BBG and EE, achieved some of their dreams, with you. Many thanks to you all. Looking forward to Part 2!
Yes come winter and things are totally different indeed. EE is doing so well out there and loving that. Thank you for your great support and more coming soon :)

This place is fantastic so HH what did think of you dream island ? I know it was a beautiful place ! EE it’s good seeing you in the front Leading good job !! Be careful! Be safe! 👍🏻👍🏻waiting on the second part can’t wait. 👍🏻👍🏻
Such a scenic location Mark , just loved it and so interesting details there even today. More to come and be safe out there.
love your videos !
Thanks my friend :)
It’s wonderful that you bring us these out of the way locations that others don’t go to. Am sure as a youngster growing up you heard different stories about the war and now you’re able to go out and see these locations. Did the Germans build and supply this location from the waterway or did they have to wait till the tide went out? This is one of those locations that time and nature are slowly recovering. While the gun placements look crudely built, they may have been something to see back in the day. Looking forward to part two.
Agree , it is so important to go out and see history like this. We think the Germans built from both land and sea side here. There is even rumor about a little wooden bridge but we did not see remains of that. Thanks Anthony.
🐰🤳
perfect island for metal-detecting🥰! Thanks for sharing the video!
Great place to explore and thanks for being here :)
Phenomenal! Can I please suggest that when HH, EE, and BB go exploring in areas like this place with a lot of overgrowth, that you use a walking stick of some sort to poke and probe the ground ahead of you to make sure there are no hidden holes that you could trip in, or even larger ones that you could fall down into. I am a bit concerned that you could get hurt, especially if you're overcome with enthusiasm and rush towards something.
EE often carry some sort of stick and very glad for that. Thanks for watching.
Wow thank u
I have admiration for your keen interest
So nice of you
Beautiful scenery, just amazing.
Thanks for that :)
More great stuff !!!

Hi man, n ee how you doing? That's good enough for holiday brochure lavish scenery excellent sunbathing (in summer) was ww2 view point and sea areas
Great place and thanks for watching.
good video/blog.... nice photos. lots of rusting barb wire. Way too much concrete had to be poured and moved around. Yikes.
My thoughts exactly and what a great explore that was. Thanks.
Thank you for the cool channel.
Thanks.
What a place. Your dream island was a must see HH. Pleased to hear that BBG, EE and yourself were able to fulfill some of your dreams/longheld wishes. Can you stay overnight on that island HH? The Germans did a phenominal job of setting up all the structures needed for an effective defensive system. The gravity fed water supply system was an ingenious invention. That was something to see the orignal wood in that one bunker still in really good shape. Like your cool hat EE and enjoy your humming in the background. Did you keep the bird feather and shell that you found EE? The sound did look picture pefect. Buns looked yummy. 😋 Can I have mine with a cup of tea please? Looking forward to seeing the artillery firing control station and more bunkers and trenches in P2. Thank you for the mention and you are most welcome. Thank you EE and HH for taking us there.💞
yes this place is totally awesome and so much more we shall share from this incredible journeyy that YOU made possible and we thank you for that :)

I was looking on Google maps for this island (couldn't find it) and came across another small island with interesting ground works. Just wondering if you could shed some light on it? The island is called Nigehörn. There is a huge circular impression on the island. Intrigued 😊
Nigehörn was constructed in 1989 as a land fill to compensate for ongoing land loss on nearby Scharhör. Thanks for watching.
Im not in a position to give you super thanks, still thank you for what you do..and salute people who do super thanks here..

It seems they utilized every inch of the beautiful island. Countless sites for everything from mg site to a water reservoir. The problem seems to be too much to check out. What a marvelous problem to have!

Nice spot for a holiday ----- maybe, how did they get all/any heavy supplies on to the island, was that a road where you crossed over. Thank you for another great video with the view and history.
I have wondered about that myself actually. There were no roads there at all and no bridges so very strange it is. More to come soon :)
