Physician Associates are part of new health and wellbeing services in NHS surgeries

Hear from Physician Associate Simran Bhardwal who explains how people in this role help residents of Nottinghamshire and Nottingham. The service offers specialist support in:
• diagnosing and treating certain health conditions.
• arranging tests and analysing results.
• performing physical examinations.
New services from General Practice Teams
These are just two of over 400 healthcare professionals recruited for local general practice surgeries since April 2019, working alongside GPs, Nurses and Healthcare Assistants. It’s part of the NHS Long Term Plan to personalise care and provide the right services, at the right time, in the right place.
Having a range of professionals at your general practice means you receive the most appropriate care as quickly as possible. You can often see these specialists straight away. For an appointment, just check your Practice website or discuss your needs with Practice staff.
