Nice mention for Benidorm. I love the first three series of it. I can easily watch that on repeat.
Ah, nice. Yes it's almost impossible to watch just one episode!
Father Ted is a chef kiss of a series, good shout! My list always changes depending on my mood. Sometimes I could be in the mood for a classic like Only Fools and Porridge, then maybe a clever comedy like Yes Minister and Thick of It. I could then be in the mood for surreal comedies like Young Ones and Mighty Boosh, or dark humour like League of Gentlemen and The Day Today. I genuinely think comedy tastes depend on your mood on any given day.
Yes, that's definitely true. There's certainly something odd about Christmas and Only Fools and Horses for example.
Python's Flying Circus isn't a sitcom or you'd have a riot. However, Blackadder should replace 12 episodes of Fawlty Towers, as much as I love John Cleese.
Blackadder is of course quality. I missed Friday Night Dinner when I did the list as well so that goes in my top 5.
@@benedictineonchessable What you really need are a lot of "ties" so you can squeeze 8-9 shows into your top 5, you sneaky boy.
@@WowbaggerTheInfinitelyProlonge Fantastic idea!!
@@benedictineonchessable LOL - then add a few "honourable mentions" and no one will want to hurl tomatoes at you.
@@WowbaggerTheInfinitelyProlonge Brilliant. As Donald would say 'absolutely!'
Crap, I forgot Friday Night Dinner! I'm putting that no.4 and Fawlty Towers has to drop out
Yes Minister / Prime Minister
Blackadder 2, 3, 4
The Young Ones
George & Mildred
It Ain't Half Hot Mum
That's a few votes now for Yes Minister and The Young Ones.
Hancock Half Hour.
Ah, good shout. I remember watching repeats of those.
Take out Benidorm and put in Dad's Army
Dad's Army. Yes, that's not one I ever really connected much with but I was younger when I watched some episodes.
yes, it IS your list so the title should be "my top 5", If 'Allo 'Allo isnt there, the list Is moot to me. Plus, Father Ted isn't British, it's IRISH.
Well, I did say it was my list. Hmm, Father Ted Irish, yes I suppose.
@@benedictineonchessable it doesnt say it in the title though, was my point.
@@johnmullens2857 Yes, I get that but putting 'my' in doesn't sound as good.
@@benedictineonchessable leaving it out makes it a self-important lie.
