Since he’s been on the leafs Zack hymen has been my favourite player. Guy grinds, kills penalties, scores goals and supports the big guns. One of the most underrated players.
Hard to call a guy underrated when everyone sings his praises. I've never heard anyone say a negative thing about Hyman.
Legit, he's sooo good, I love him on the oilers, especially in the playoffs.
Can we stop talking about Hyman as a grinder. He’s a legitimate top 6 forward.
can we stop talking about the leafs as a legitimate team
wojowestcoast if that makes u feel better lol but they are buddy
@Rick Gross nylander has scored 90 percent of his goals this year from the area in front of the net. He's not a sweetheart like the media has brainwashed you into thinking
@@wojowestcoast Mindfucked 😂😂😂😂
wojowestcoast can we all just please stop talking
Zach Hyman is a BEAST... by far my favourite player on the team... He reminds me of my favourite hockey player of all time Dave Andreychuk... I remember last season or the season before when the Leafs were playing the New York Rangers and Zach Hyman went behind the net to get a puck and three rangers players jumped him and who comes up with the puck passes it up front to Matthews to score but none other than Zach Hyman himself... We need at least two more like him
@betterdays I compare them to the fact that both were willing to take on the work horse role....Zach will go into the corners with multiple opposing players and work his ass off to get the puck...Andreychuck stood in arguably the hardest place on the ice surface (the front of the opposing net) and took beating after beating to get the job done...I realize that skating ability Hyman is far superior as well as almost every other metric...but Andreychuck worked harder than almost every other player on his team...just like Hyman
Zach Freaking Hyman now that's a guy who should be getting payed guy is a Tank
Do not resign hyman for over 3 my god
@@cjmllvv might get a 3yr 2.8mil maybe
Every good line needs a gritty guy who will go into the corner and get the puck, or take a hit to make a play and that's what makes the line succeed. If you think of all the top lines in the NHL, each one has that gritty guy who is severely underrated. When you put a guy who plays the game the right way along with 2 guys who have insane talent, you get a superstar line.
Mackinnon and Rantanen have Landeskog, Backstrom and Ovechkin have Wilson, Pastrnak and Marchand have Bergeron, Matthews and Marner have Hyman.
SPOT ON
I call them "complementary" players; they do a lot of things well and, in context, they can be 1st liners even if you think they aren't, in a vacuum, top line players.
(Bill Simmons likes calling those guys "glue guys", which can be thought of as denigrating them as merely role players, but he means in the way that he can fit in and connect the rest of the players in the lineup/line.)
I'm a Caps fan; your example of Wilson is spot-on (he's very fast, has a heavy shot, and he's developing into not just a smart passer - as he's been for the last few seasons - but a really nifty passer too), although Oshie is also a phenomenal example of a player who can do it all.
Mike Knuble is the platonic ideal in many Caps fans' minds.
You need to realize MacKinnon, Pasta, Backstrom all play a more gritty physical game than do Matthews or Marner. Then Ovi is just as physical as Wilson, Ovi just is also one of the greatest goal scorers of all time as well. Matthews and Marner are talented no doubt, but they sit back and expect the puck to magically come to them. It's one of the main reasons Toronto probably is going to miss the playoffs. Bergeron isn't a gritty player either, pasta is more physical than him.
ARNIE KUITUNEN facts
Dubas had better move heaven and earth to keep Hyman on the roster.
Well he is signed for next year. Plenty of time to make that decision
Glad to have him in Edmonton!
I remember some "hockey pundits" complaining about this guy playing with Mathews a few years ago. Real hockey fans always saw the work ethic and loved him for it. Toronto fans are famous for loving hard work and toughness over skill. When you combine that in the form of Wendel or Roberts, instant star in the city.
Leafs should offer him an extension now. I think he would take a cheap team friendly contract considering how much love he has got from his teammates, the fans, the fact that he is from Toronto and how well the medical staff has treated him through his injury. 2 year extension 6M lets do it.
He know who he is and never try to play like a star !
Easily the hardest working guy
Someone should write a list of the hardest-working Leafs.
Hyman plays the game right kiddys pay attention
Here’s a question is Keefe making a difference or is it all because Hyman came back 2 games before Babcock was fired??
Easily most underrated player on the leafs! Has one of the best contracts in the league
Also in a salary cap crunch which is coming I'm keeping Hyman before Kappenen and Johnson
Every team needs a Hyman to go into the corners and do their dirty work and open up space for their stars. Bob Probert did this for years in Detroit and made Yzerman and Probert that much more effective.
Mike Johnson is a gem
Matty and Mitchy love him too.
and im a big fan of his
babcock sucked but he was right on Zach
Ray could have used anybody's help on his line for scoring that's why we like him so much :)
Hyman is so sick
My fav!!
Hyman can definitely do 7 goals in the remaining 31 games, if they keep the Marner, Matthews, Hyman line together and stay healthy. He's had 11g in the past 21 games.
And the funny thing is........... Mike Babcock loved him!
Question should be why is John Tavares doing nothing.
Tavares is too busy growing a personality.
Gerhard Symons solid chuckle... 👍
I mean
MARNER MATTHEWS HYMAN
top 5 lines in the nhl if u ask me. Maybe top 3 behind boston and colorado
They need to focus on Andersen and Rielly for July 1st
Leafs first big test tmro-Panthers -playoff atmosphere!!
Is there any other team other than the leafs according to tsn?
if anyone on this team deserves a raise it's hyman.
Hyman is a nice player...i see people making comparisons to R O'Reilly...ahh i got love for the glue sniffers as well...
Hyman will make 25 to 30 goals
So he's Burrows?
He is also playing with fucking marner and Matthews... He gets all the time in the world with the top point getters on the Leafs.
There's two Hymans on the team, Zach and Auston's.
Hey look we can all appreciate a guy who does the dirty work, but plz take a look at the list of players you're comparing him to(GPG), when those players are on the ice THEY are the focus of the other team's D (and forwards)...with all due respect Hyman isnt even the 2nd focus on his own line so....the comparison is nice and all but we see the difference, he should simply be appreciated for what he does best instead of trying to compare him to star players unfairly
They’re not comparing them as players they’re just saying he’s on an elite scoring streak
Gotem at 9
Who's the guy on the right?
Mike Johnson is one of the best
@@foleymaj ya I like him a lot, wish he was a regular
Would love him with Hayes full time.
Mike Johnson. Former Leaf. NHL network regular with tsn hits on TH and the occasional TOR radio
$14 million ufa signing by Toronto
The sexy stats
He played 32 games. Pace don’t mean shit
Coming off an ACL tear.
Keep crying
He's on 35 with 30 of them being empty netters lol
the dudes a plug
Deserves 3.4 a year????? Lol I'm sure he looks at you and says you deserve 80 bucks and a pack of backwoods
How is Mike Johnson still employed? his a opinion doesn't hold value
First
Liar
First like pls respond
What are you 5? 🤣
Hahahahahahahahaahaha Ferraro a scorer???
Ummm yeah 91st all time with 408 goals. He even had a 76 point season at the age of 36. You new hockey fans are so funny.
Too many empty net goals
3..
A goal is a goal
Theirs something to be said that he’s on the ice in situations to score empty net goals though eh?
Objectively incorrect. Are you gonna cry?
That also means u can trust him in key situations at the end of the game when the other team has the extra forward and you are defending the lead.
With doubt there has never been an uglier moustache in the e NHL...guess who it is....
half hymans goals are empty netters
You do not watch the games apparently
Never beats goalies clean with a wrist shot. Not a skill player
More skill than you jealous
