I’m also starting the trail on February 22nd. of 2024.. I’m going lake to ocean though and it’s been raining!!! I’m expecting to slog miles of water, but I’m super excited to get on trail. Thanks for the video.
Planning the OTL as we speak for either January or February ‘22. Would you rather start off at Lake Okeechobee and end up at Hobe Sound or the other way around?
I did west bound because I planned to hike around lake okeechobee after but didnt end up doing it. Looks like most people go eastbound but I think either way is fine.
Thank you for sharing. You guys were fun to watch.
Great video with lots of great information about the trail!
Thanks for sharing! I enjoy that trail. I'll be hiking it again in January. What's up Joe, looking good brother!
Awesome adventure and great friendship! Inspired me to hike this trail :)

I plan on doing this once I get back from Alaska!
Loved the video. Any advise for 5 Gals that plan to hike the OTL?
Just have fun! The youth camp was a great place to stay. Just call ahead to see if they have room. Just be prepared for wet feet.
Thanks

I would think there is more payoff heading east. Once you complete the trail to can jump in the ocean
Cool, how fo you deal with the mosquitos
Don't usually use spray. A head net works wonders. Other than that head for the tent if it gets real bad!
Those are Coyote tracks! 😃
Thanks!
Did you reach out to the youth camp to camp there?
We called them ahead on the trail to get permission to stay there. There were no campers there at the time.
