It's one of the cool delayed harvest areas in northern virginia brother.
What reel and rod are you using?
I use a small ultralight setup. A simple 5.5 foot ugly stik with a pflueger president reel. Hope that helps!

I always get 6lb test monofilament. It works for all species and its clear
