That draw thing is what I really need! I have a folding table next to my used horn sewing desk! just sucks makes it look crappy❤I have the horn model 6280. I believe ? I have a singer school profile cabinet that I use as a cutting table I love 💗 that table❤

After another busy but fun filled day, I get to sit, hand sew on a quilt border and watch this video. Thank you so much for sharing this and I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

The right side that you considered wasted space is where I keep my wool pressing mat with my miniature iron. It keeps it within close reach while being out of the way of my fabrics I’m sewing

Melanie thanks for the video. Very well described! I have final given up on plans to build a cabinet and think the Aussie 2 might be a good choice. Do you know what the difference is between the Aussie “2” and what I assume is an Aussie “1”? The ones I find online look just like yours but seem to be labeled “Aussie” without the “2” designation. BTW, would you mind sharing where you got your chair? It looks really comfy.

I didn't realize there was an Aussie 1. 🙃 I don't believe I've seen that one... The chair in this video came from OfficeMax. :)

@@SouthernCharmQuilts Awesome! Thanks for the reply. Maybe it’s the same one. All the photos from the shops selling it look the same as the one you have. I’m guessing you still enjoy using the cabinet.

I love the cabinet!! It was money well spent for me. Everything has it's place. I have a tour of my space here czcams.com/video/Q-PcbRBHP5A/video.html . This should be the most updated video. I go into some details about the cabinet here. :)

Hi Melanie, I am thinking of getting this cabinet and the one thing I’m wondering about and I think you addressed when you said that you would like more space to the left is this. Is there room for your knees and feet when sitting directly in front of needle? Or does your left knee hit cabinetry? Do you have to sit more to the right then you’d like and subsequently lean to the left? That would be uncomfortable....thanks for reply...

No, my knees don't hit anything. It's a very comfortable fit and I'm centered in front of my needle. :)

Melanie, I watched your video and wanted to say, I too have the Aussie II cabinet. You complained about the wasted space to the right and wanted mor to the left of your machine. However, you didn't show that when you open up the side to the left, you open the door and fold open the top of the cabinet onto the door, giving you ample space to your left. There is also the fact that the cabinet that pulls out can also bee pulled out completely and attached to the now open door on the left, this gives you even more space for your quilting. I think you are selling this cabinet short with your video, because you are not giving full and accurate information. When this cabinet is fully opened you have 8 feet of surface space, that should be enough space for any quilter or sewist.

I love the cabinet and would purchase it again, but I stand by all my opinions I mention in the video and after having the cabinet a year longer, none of my thoughts have changed. It's okay to have differing opinions, each of us have our own preferences and needs.
