Not in the market for a machine but this one looks really good. You’d think manufacturers would make this with a zigzag stitch. I use that stitch to make frankenbatting. Then I’d be sorely tempted.
I'm with you about the Juki. Thank you for this video. Nicely done. I've very recently bought the TL2010Q and do so enjoy using it for all of the reasons you mentioned. This model has a feature to increase or decrease speed - I have it set full pelt but of course can still regulate speed with that beaut foot pedal. One thing you might have perhaps demonstrated was the needle threader. I checked out Juki Junkies and learned an extra tip about this (thanks to Juki Junkies). Also note that the needle is threaded from the left side, not from the usual front. I really like this machine.

I have never heard the expression, "piercing" related to a sewing machine. What does it mean/ Thanks for the help? I did a search online and found nothing. Even on youtube. Typed in, "using a Juki sewing machine for piercing" and found nothing.
@samking4179 Piecing, not piercing (phones are so helpful changing what we type😊), is a term quilters use to refer to sewing all the pieces together to make quilt blocks. HTH

Your review put me over the top and I just ordered my 2000iQ from Sewing Machine Plus. I live in your neck of the middle of nowhere except I am across the river in Southside. I have a Juki DZL-F300, I think. It's also a great machine but after using it for 3 yrs. I am ready for the speed and streamlineness that the 2000iQ provides. I will keep my other Juki since I have about 10 feet for it and oodles of bobbins. And I do some home dec sewing. Thanks again for the push!! LOL.
I just got a Suzuki 2000 QI and I love it but I’m scared to thread it. I’d like to quit too. I’m learning to quit because I had somebody steal my other machine when I moved, but I would like to know if you could do another video on how to thread the machine step-by-step I really appreciate you good to give this video thank you so much😊
I have the TL18 QVP which I bought in like-new used condition at a significant discount. The price of the machine to the number of stitches does create a false economy expectation. Rather, I would flip it to a pro v a con: The machine is fantastic because it does only one thing: a straight stitch..and does it very well (and fast). If you have not tried it yet, consider switching your pedal foot to your left foot so that you can operate your knee lift independently with your right leg. While awkward at first, once the muscle memory kicks it, and it does quickly, the alacrity and precision in which you can operate your machine smoothly goes exponential. I've run across a few people demonstrating machines with a knee lift stating they never use it. As you note it is a wondrous feature. But if one is used to sewing without one, again, it becomes incorporating a different muscle memory (knee v. hand) into one's routine.

I like the way the machine sounds, doesn't seem as loud as 2010 model but maybe in high speeds they are the same. Not sure how that knee bar works or if many use it or if it's convenient or just gets in the way. I guess this machine requires the daily oiling too, like its 2010 sibling. I love your review. I also have this machine and just adore it. One question:I never the automatic cutter because I use a leader and ender when I piece which takes much more time. Can you tell me if you have a problem of unraveling or a bunching up of the thread by cutting the thread this way. Thank you! Love your personality and calmness.
I have been looking at this machine. I have an old Janome 9000 that still runs great, has wonderful fancy stitches, and embroiders beautifully. I also have a lower end model janome I bought , hoping it would handle thicker/layered fabrics…but it isn’t what I was looking for. I don’t do much large quilting, but I do quite a bit of Denim, drapes, pillow tops, horse blanket repairs, and heavy fabric garments. I also do free motion embroidery with dropping the feed dog. Computerized machines are very nice, but I need a machine that can handle more heavy duty jobs, without messing up the timing, and feel confident to go over thick seams like hemming jeans. Maybe newer computer machines can handle these things, but the price is crazy!!! I’m thinking this would be a good choice for what I do?
Love it....very easy to set up and sews great. Took all but 5 min's to set up. I only sew heavy materials, canvas etc. and I only use braided fishing line (normally 5 or 6lb test) much stronger than any of the HD type threads I've used and it actually sews much better. Surprised that the on-board auto thread cutter actually cuts it. No faults I can find with this machine, the thread tensioner is easy to set and foot pedal is very easy to modulate needle speed. For what it does, it excels. Like the metal body, it's definitely a heavy-duty, manual style, purpose-built machine so buyers - buy accordingly. @@SouthernCharmQuilts

Hi, i have the 2010. The lighting is terrible. I see you added a light also. My machine puts out a semi curcular lighted area that has a halo-like glow near outter edge of lit area. This semi circular lights out the lower and left side of the bed about 3-4 inches away from the needle. Also the thread cutter in the foot needs attention. You can inadvertenly cut yoyr thread. A bumbed while quilting. The rubber stopper cost me 15$, so there is a solution, but it should have come as a standard accessory. Finally: no one talks about the interchangability of feet among juki machines. Can one use any high shank juki foot on any hjgh shank juki machine?

It's such a great machine! Your manual will have in detail instructions on how to adjust the tension, but there's a little knob around the area where you thread the machine. If my stitches are too loose, I tighten the knob. If they are too tight, I loosen the knob. I usually only try to do a little at a time until the stitches are just the way I want them. In my experience with this machine, I haven't had to adjust the tension much. My mind tends to always think every problem is tension related, but it's usually something with the way I have it threaded that is actually causing the problem. For some reason, many of my thread spools have had burrs on them and then thread kept getting stuck there. There's also a tension adjuster on the actual bobbin, but I don't think I've every adjusted that.

I’m curious about speed, I hear this machine has one speed but the 2010 has a speed control? Is the speed really worth the extra 300? What about attachments? I hear I can add the same attachments the 1500 dollar machine and the 999 dollar machine on this one this one just doesn’t come with the free motion feet? Idk what to do, I’m supposed to know by tomorrow! Grandma is going in half on a birthdate gift! But I don’t want to spend money I don’t need to. I’m most interested in free motion with free motion rulers
If free motion is your interest go with the one with the speed control, the 2010. Same machine but with speed control. The 2000 has zero speed control. It's capable of free motion quilting, but it will be harder to get even stitches on this machine. I only use it for piecing, binding and some straight line quilting. You want ALL THE FEET you can afford to purchase, particularly in regard to what your interest is. If it's quilting and you want to free motion, you want the free motion foot. The feet can sometimes cost between $30-$100 depending on what you get, so if you can get them to come with the machine that's great. I ended up having to buy the free motion foot and I bought a walking foot guide extra for my machine. If I remember correctly the guide was quite expensive. You also REALLY want a 1/4" foot for piecing. If you can't find one with it, the 1/5" (scant 1/4" foot) will be good enough, but ideally you have both. I hope this helps! Please feel free to reach out with more questions if you need to. There's nothing like buying the wrong machine for your needs to put a damper on sewing. Good luck!
Great video. What's the thickest amount of denim or canvas anyone has gone through with this machine? I need to sew through five layers of 10oz canvas. I am sure this will be fine but just wanted some feedback. Thanks in advance for any help.
Can you tell me if you can sew very slow with this machine? I always hear how fast it is, but lots of the sewing that I do I need to go slow. I know this model doesn't have the speed control on the machine, and that you have to regulate the speed with the foot pedal. But just wondered how slow it will sew and if it's hard to get it to go a constant slow speed. thanks.
For basic straight line sewing, I can adjust the speed with the foot pedal and it works nicely. I have no issues piecing on this machine. For free motion quilting, it's a lot more difficult to slow it down.
I got this today!!!! I tried it out! I went to use the cutting feature. It worked. But then my bobbin thread was under the machine. Is this normal? Lol
I've had more machines with bottom loading bobbins vs. top loading bobbins. I must not have a preference though. I haven't found that one was better than the other... Hope you enjoy the machine!

Not really. I love the knee lift. It's the first machine I used that I enjoyed it. I had one on my Bernina that I purchased a few years into quilting, but the angle was funny or maybe I just didn't give it a chance. I love it on this Juki tho. :)

Great machine. I use the Juki 8700H since I work with heavy fabrics. I slowed it down after trying the 5500 stitches speed. Awesome but way too fast!

I believe all the TL machines use the same feet.

I dislike the needle threader and have trouble inserting the bobbin with machine in table. Other wise love.
I've not found a single machine with a needle threader I found easy to use. I dismiss all of them. LOL.
