Nigeria is super cheap for people making dollars. The US is more expensive... one year rent in Nigeria is my 3/4 months US rent. Then we still have to pay for utilities, house insurance, WiFi and other little bills here and there. Services in Nigeria are very cheap too. 5k to get a whole apartment/house cleaned...That’s a good deal. In the US, anything Labor (cleaning, babysitting etc.) is not cheap. In Nigeria, if you have money, you can live comfortably like a king/queen. I can’t wait to move back. Giving myself another 2-3 years and I’m out of here. Focus now is to save lots of money and have a plan. I can always be back and forth but Nigeria will be my base.

LOL! Chi-town in da howz! I was wondering where you from, you sound very familiar but with an accent. :) I grew up 20 minutes away from downtown Chicago but in Gary Indiana. Found out last year that I am 37% Nigerian (Heyyyy!!!) so really want to get situated there or Ghana. Regardless, getting the hell out of America as soon as I get my business off and running for my source of income. Can't wait, I live in Los Angeles now and the cost of living is super expensive. My only setback about moving is that it will be solo. Where the single women from America that want to make that move! Let's do this! Bless!

I plan to buy my home and not rent, I am a single woman and well educated. I am pretty much firm in what I want to happen in my expectation. I have everything I NEED and then MORE...etc I was told that if I moved to Nigeria I would be considered very wealthy and bougie, while out here in my community it's Average. QUESTION:

Yea that is expensive if you’re making Naira but with dollars seem to go very far like the average American office job could pay living expenses but she excluded a lot. If you’re making Naira God help you that’s all I can say bc she didn’t even include rent which is a lot especially in a big city like Lagos. Transportation that one can be expensive too especially if you decide you don’t want to economize. Now I see why everyone is doing detry December bc you can go to Nigeria with all of your dollars for the holiday and get more than what you could get in America. Like vacation spot of the century.

I’ve been considering moving there for a while. Wondering how hard it would be for an American to adapt. Definitely much cheaper than living in the US

Make sure you secure a well paying job first
You can get a nice apartment for like $3000 a year or rent a mansion for $6,000 a year

Or build/buy a house to your taste though the process is cumbersome but well worth it seeing as $100k will get buy you a nice 4 bedroom detached house in urban yet not so crowded areas of Lagos&Abuja

I have a business here in the States, that would afford the cost of living easily. We just don't know anyone there. That's what stops many American blacks from moving there, we just don't have anyone there as a connection

@@Seanitra I understand you because even you being on ground means you always have to stay updated so that you don't end up in some pitfall. I can just imagine the stress not having a connection here to smooth things over for you
I believe it will end in praise though 🙂😃

Nigeria seems very affordable. I live in Jamaica and your entire month's expense is what I spend on groceries alone.
