I have read about the reliability issues but my personal experience has been exactly the opposite. My 2013 Range Rover sport has 113,000 miles and shows no signs of giving up anytime soon. All i have had to do is routine maintenance (oil, brakes, tires). This is the best vehicle I have ever had and i have had more than I care to admit
The 2013 model year Range Rover Sport actually has favorable reviews. My personal experience with LR hasn't been as great when I bought a low mileage 2015 LR2 that was dealer owned/maintained and within just a couple of thousand miles the turbo failed on the highway. Luckily it was under warranty still but it was a pain in the ass at the time.
Bro, as expensive this vehicle may be, I’d definitely take this off road because off road capabilities and luxury features? Dude, what more could I possibly want?
Thank you for another great review! One thing though, from now on please treat all review vehicles as if they were aluminum bodied, and leave off the irksome, unsightly logo signage.
I'm not sure about the split tailgate design. I would think it would make it harder to reach things that are pushed towards the front, especially for shorter folks like me...
It looks glorious inside and out, but has the reliability and build quality of a 1960s Russian tractor. Mine was a rattle trap by 5000 miles and has spent multiple days in the shop. If you only care about how you look to others, rather than your own experience with the car, then go for it! But for $110,000 (more or less), there are so many superior options. If you want luxury, go for a loaded Lexus LS or reasonably optioned A8 or 7 Series. You can even get a reasonably-optioned Mercedes S-Class for $110,000 which blows this thing away in terms of luxury and even reliability (which is saying something). For me, it's my first and last Land Rover.
He's got plenty of Subs. But the car review Market is stacked. There's a lot of great car channels. And it doesn't require a ton of creativity. You just review cars. Granted Alex is one of the best.
I seen one of those a few months ago in parking lot and the driver was a woman good enough looking to be a supermodel. I thought that was quite a coincidence. But I figured she had a rich husband or something.
Hi there, my name is Hameed from Cape Town South Africa n I have a 2018 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4SD V8 LWB and I go on Fishing Trips with it, drive on the Beach etc.
Highway range? If you want to get rid of the dirty emissions - get rid of all gasoline cars (nano-particulates, DNA-toxic carbohydrates), diesels (NOx), and battery-powered electrics (energy and battery production).
Seriously, they're not nearly as bad as what they were in the 90's and early 2000s. Reliability is still relatively poor, but it's not like the nightmares of the past.
My friend has a RR HSE 2015 with 30,000 miles. 10,000 each year and he never has any problem. Except for the fact that maintenance cost is ridiculous, everything else seems fine
I never owned a 1990s or 2000s edition, although riding in friends versions of that vintage, I can say my 2016 is certainly better. But that doesn't make it good or even acceptable by modern standards. I've owned dozens of cars from various manufacturers since the 1980s and this is, without a doubt, the WORST.
Nice looking SUV. I would ((( LEASE ))) one but I'll never ((( BUY ))) another LandRover again. You'll LIVE in the repair shop and your re$ale will take a serious dump after the factory warranties expire. If you want to purchase an SUV and want to insure longevity and high resale value, go with a Toyota Landcruiser, Lexus LX570 (even though they're ugly), 2019 Mercedes G-Wagon, or the Infiniti QX80 (newest body style).
Why would anyone buy a 50k+ SUV these days is beyond me. In fact, I no longer see reason to even buy any car again . So yes, lease only. But not this car - infotainment of it is infuriating. X5 has a much better infotainment. If someone wants to make a statement for 200k+ - there is Bentley Bentayga and RR Cullinan.
I suppose if one is able to afford one of these, then that person should have no problem taking it off road if they wanted. I mean, if they're wealthy enough to buy a dozen or more of these - and they have a helicopter to airlift them out of the wilderness when the rover breaks down.😊
Ford owned Range Rover for a short period which is why Ford products and designs literally leaped into the present that you see today from them. Without the Land Rover procurement, Ford wouldn't be what they are today.
My friend has a range rover and reminds me of a Ford. These things are overpriced and yet another status symbol for those crazy Kardashians. The dash on the new model is swanky but for all the expensive maintenance that it will need, and non reliable performance I'd look for something more practical and longer lasting. Just my two cents.
Why do people just assume these are unreliable from data from one person from 2008 but discard the hundreds of 2018’ owners like myself and family and friends
"The LX is more likely to be more reliable than the range rover." Likely? Are you kidding? Range Rover is trash in term of reliability. ON the other spectrum is Toyota quality. Why do you think Land Cruiser kill all Land Rover products from places like Africa, Austria, and Middle East a few decades ago? Alex, how did you determine that the range rover is more offroad capable than the LX (LC200)? I've seen tons of videos of LC200 go head to head with the LC79 with rear and front lockers. I think you are bedazzled by the Range Rover badge Alex.
Ford actually owned Land Rover group until few years ago (2000-2008). That is the main reason you will see similar design themes between something like Ford Explorer and Range rover. Of course, Ford explorer doesn't have the history of Range rover behind it so I guess Explorer has borrowed some design cues from Range Rover.
great to haul mum from the estate to the airport and impress the peasants on the way. not worth the money over a Yukon Denali on my 16 mile dirt driveway and the Denali is easier to resell, people actually want them and oh yeah with the high tariff's taking hold buy American
It’s a quarter of a million dollar car because you buy it for 108k and spend another 142k servicing it after warranty. Lol. Lexus LX570 > Range Rover all day
Why no off-road ??? If I can buy this car of course I can off-road and eventually repair : which is the problem ?? All is proportioned at the wallet : I can buy this car I can I can off road too ... ok they are some people that make big Loan to buy this car but this is another issue 😂😂😂
Not appreciated? Why? What does it do to you? He uses it as bragging when he has these vehicles for a week. It’s a way of advertising. Could he take them off before filming? Sure, but is it really that big a deal?
Yep I dislike it very much. It's an annoying distraction. I want to see what the vehicle looks like. It's a car review. He puts his sticker on then I can't really see the car. It comes across as cheap and reaching.
I have read about the reliability issues but my personal experience has been exactly the opposite. My 2013 Range Rover sport has 113,000 miles and shows no signs of giving up anytime soon. How did the 2013 range rover hold up long term?
Love hearing that of course this post is 6 years old. Do you still have it? It’s about the only vehicle on the road I like right now… I don’t know??
There are sooo many LX570 owners who would have bought a RR if RR were more dependable...something LR should take note...
This. I have a 2015 LX and would have bought a range rover if they weren't pieces of garbage.
Bro, as expensive this vehicle may be, I’d definitely take this off road because off road capabilities and luxury features? Dude, what more could I possibly want?
Ive driven Landrovers most of my life, I Love them & the Range Rover is the ultimate
My 2016 HSE TD6 has been very reliable, as was the 2012 before that.
Most likely cursed by witches. A reliable RR? Noo
These things are probably everywhere in Hollywood.
Yes, that and homeless crap everywhere you go.
They are everywhere anyone with money is not just Hollywood
They are everywhere! Also there is an insane amount of G classes or maybe that’s just in Beverly Hills
How is that virtually every premium brand can't built an electronic interface that isn't slow?
The digital interface is fully configurable, FYI, just like the Escalade.
Enjoy all your reviews. Always detailed and very informative. Thanks. Joe
As always, probably the best review. But where is the back seat legroom showcase when the front is adjusted for a 6'5" passenger?
Why is this acceleration measurement 2 seconds slower than the 2016 version of the same car, by your testing?
It looks glorious inside and out, but has the reliability and build quality of a 1960s Russian tractor. Mine was a rattle trap by 5000 miles and has spent multiple days in the shop. alliejr switch to toyota land cruiser v8
Junaid Bangash Toyota look shit
hock liew - Get a Lexus LX 570 if you want bling. Also that Toyota piece of shit can outlast your prostate.
0:15 you forgot about the Toyota Land Cruiser
very authentic dude with review , why subscribe is so low ?
200K subs is low for a car review channel? what planet are you on?
He's got plenty of Subs. But the car review Market is stacked. There's a lot of great car channels. And it doesn't require a ton of creativity. You just review cars. Granted Alex is one of the best.
Hey, Alex!
Can you please do a Land Rover Range Rover Velar?
Thanks!
The Range Rover is the status symbol among luxury SUVs...Point Blank.
He forgot to mention the Bentley Bentayga. Rich people will pursue that as a more family vehicle that goes off road and it's fast.
RR is better than the Bentayga
I seen one of those a few months ago in parking lot and the driver was a woman good enough looking to be a supermodel. I thought that was quite a coincidence. But I figured she had a rich husband or something.
Awesome review again Alex
that was interesting, i can't wait for the full review
Awesome video! :)
Hi there, my name is Hameed from Cape Town South Africa n I have a 2018 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4SD V8 LWB and I go on Fishing Trips with it, drive on the Beach etc.
I noticed the time saving edits. Good idea.
One thing will always keep me away from buying a Range Rover. The infotainment system.
This tester does have adaptive cruise control. He accidentally skipped over the buttons on the steering wheel.
But why would you review a turbo diesel when we are trying to get rid of dirty diesel emissions? I'm at a lost that know one is trying.
Highway range? If you want to get rid of the dirty emissions - get rid of all gasoline cars (nano-particulates, DNA-toxic carbohydrates), diesels (NOx), and battery-powered electrics (energy and battery production).
I think the buyer who would buy the Bentley would be a good fit off-roading since the price point exceeds 200k
Wait, the sunvisors of Ranger Rover don't extend?!!! That's shocking for a luxury car of this price!
I'd still choose the 2018 TLC🙌👌
Can you review the diesel version of the Land Rover Discovery?
Is it still ridiculously unreliable? Does the dome light still leak when it rains?
Yes and yes.
I don't know why they still price it like there was nothing ever wrong with it. They must all be mad!
Seriously, they're not nearly as bad as what they were in the 90's and early 2000s. Reliability is still relatively poor, but it's not like the nightmares of the past.

those legroom numbers are all messed up, please review
Nice looking SUV. I would ((( LEASE ))) one but I'll never ((( BUY ))) another LandRover again. I imagine they send these things right to the scrap yard when the warranty ends.
I’ll put some BFgoodrich ko2 and take it off road
Alex is it really that uncommon to have height adjustable seat belts? I bought a 2009 kia spectra5 for college and even my car has them...
Many BMWs for instance have fixed seat belts.
What person on their right mind thinks "shall I get a Lexus LX 570 or a Range Rover?"
Gimme the LX instead. ETA: the Lexus IS way more capable off road-swap the bumper and put on some tires.
It doesn’t even come with the nice headrests???
Buy a range rover if you want that shit to break on you in 589 miles.
Uh... The RR isn't even the iconic Land Rover... That's the defender.
whats the mpg?
The only way I’m taking a 214k suv off road is if the purge is happening.
You spelled "Lexus" incorrectly as "Lexux" in the size comparison graph. Haha. Great video as usual!
Darn it!
I suppose if one is able to afford one of these, then that person should have no problem taking it off road if they wanted. I mean, if they're wealthy enough to buy a dozen or more of these - and they have a helicopter to airlift them out of the wilderness when the rover breaks down.😊
Beautiful truck...but owning this out of warranty you might as throw a stick of dynamite inside ,close the door, and run
I guess if you spec it like this and you come up next to a full spect version, it hurts, because it just doesn't look fancy enough for 100k
This Range Rover is off-road focused vehicle? I have never seen any owner of this car takes it off-road, except for the guys who do the review
Ford owned Range Rover for a short period which is why Ford products and designs literally leaped into the present that you see today from them. Without the Land Rover procurement, Ford wouldn't be what they are today.
Good but noooot at the price.
The RR Sport is worse, actually
Why do people just assume these are unreliable from data from one person from 2008 but discard the hundreds of 2018’ owners like myself and family and friends
Whats a Lexux ?
"The LX is more likely to be more reliable than the range rover." Likely? Are you kidding? Range Rover is trash in term of reliability. ON the other spectrum is Toyota quality. Sadly the Explorer ruin ed the styling of this by making it popular and cops cars. Played out
Diesel version is not good for me...
You won't stay rich for long if you keep going off road with your new Range Rover.
Is it just me or does the range rover look like the ford explorer?
D Tay I've heard a lot of people say that. It's because if I'm not mistaken, they were both designed by the same person.
No, the Ford Explorer looks like the Ranger Rover.
It's the other way around, lol
Ford actually owned Land Rover group until few years ago (2000-2008). That is the main reason you will see similar design themes between something like Ford Explorer and Range rover. Of course, Ford explorer doesn't have the history of Range rover behind it so I guess Explorer has borrowed some design cues from Range Rover.
D Tay its just you
great to haul mum from the estate to the airport and impress the peasants on the way. not worth the money over a Yukon Denali on my 16 mile dirt driveway and the Denali is easier to resell, people actually want them and oh yeah with the high tariff's taking hold buy American
Im willing to bet that less than 5% uses their Range Rover to go offroading.
If 25 minutes is a quick take then I need to look up the definition of “quick take”.
Lol
Thank God, the Range Rover is aluminum! Alex couldn't put that tacky magnetic A/A thing on it.
They need to bring the V8 diesel to North America instead of this bland V6.
It’s a quarter of a million dollar car because you buy it for 108k and spend another 142k servicing it after warranty. Lol. Lexus LX570 > Range Rover all day
A quarter of a million is 250k
For Women
I just do not like the front of tis car , or never did!
Why no off-road ??? If I can buy this car of course I can off-road and eventually repair : which is the problem ?? All is proportioned at the wallet : I can buy this car I can I can off road too ... ok they are some people that make big Loan to buy this car but this is another issue 😂😂😂
too bad they break down every week
troy smith u own ONE or reading other non owner saying the same shit
u probably own one of these trash they a piece of shit ok deal with it
@@troysmith9007 shut the hell up
Yay Alex can't stick his sign on it. While I like your reviews, the magnetic sign is not appreciated.
Not appreciated? Why? What does it do to you? He uses it as bragging when he has these vehicles for a week. It’s a way of advertising. Could he take them off before filming? Sure, but is it really that big a deal?
Bill Blair I totally agree. I don’t like the magnetic sign either.
Bill Blair agree, I dislike the sign as well. Breaks iip the image and is distracting on the car
Yep I dislike it very much. It's an annoying distraction. I want to see what the vehicle looks like. It's a car review. He puts his sticker on then I can't really see the car. It comes across as cheap and reaching.
I don’t mind the sign at all. I do enjoy Alex’s consistently excellent and thorough reviews.
"Quick Take Review"?
lease range rover dont buy it its a money pit and not that off road worthy like this review mention
Man this thing looks hideous.
Are you for real...I Owen both cars... Lexus way more capable off road
What do you have in your pants?
👌🏻🇺🇸👌🏻💯
It's ugly, and overpriced. Check resale values on previous years.
hermitld u can't afford ONE
Over rated, over priced pile of shit.
Not a fan of this vehicle. Rather have a Porsche.
Porsche is crap compared to this one
