    I have read about the reliability issues but my personal experience has been exactly the opposite. My 2013 Range Rover sport has 113,000 miles and shows no signs of giving up anytime soon. All i have had to do is routine maintenance (oil, brakes, tires). This is the best vehicle I have ever had and i have had more than I care to admit

      The 2013 model year Range Rover Sport actually has favorable reviews. My personal experience with LR hasn't been as great when I bought a low mileage 2015 LR2 that was dealer owned/maintained and within just a couple of thousand miles the turbo failed on the highway. Luckily it was under warranty still but it was a pain in the ass at the time.

  • @alliejr
    @alliejr Před 6 lety +13

    It looks glorious inside and out, but has the reliability and build quality of a 1960s Russian tractor. Mine was a rattle trap by 5000 miles and has spent multiple days in the shop. If you only care about how you look to others, rather than your own experience with the car, then go for it! But for $110,000 (more or less), there are so many superior options. If you want luxury, go for a loaded Lexus LS or reasonably optioned A8 or 7 Series. You can even get a reasonably-optioned Mercedes S-Class for $110,000 which blows this thing away in terms of luxury and even reliability (which is saying something). For me, it's my first and last Land Rover.

      I never owned a 1990s or 2000s edition, although riding in friends versions of that vintage, I can say my 2016 is certainly better. But that doesn't make it good or even acceptable by modern standards. I've owned dozens of cars from various manufacturers since the 1980s and this is, without a doubt, the WORST.

    Nice looking SUV. I would ((( LEASE ))) one but I'll never ((( BUY ))) another LandRover again. You'll LIVE in the repair shop and your re$ale will take a serious dump after the factory warranties expire. If you want to purchase an SUV and want to insure longevity and high resale value, go with a Toyota Landcruiser, Lexus LX570 (even though they're ugly), 2019 Mercedes G-Wagon, or the Infiniti QX80 (newest body style).

    • @igorl8367
      @igorl8367 Před 6 lety +1

      Why would anyone buy a 50k+ SUV these days is beyond me. In fact, I no longer see reason to even buy any car again . So yes, lease only. But not this car - infotainment of it is infuriating. X5 has a much better infotainment. If someone wants to make a statement for 200k+ - there is Bentley Bentayga and RR Cullinan.

    "The LX is more likely to be more reliable than the range rover." Likely? Are you kidding? Range Rover is trash in term of reliability. ON the other spectrum is Toyota quality. Why do you think Land Cruiser kill all Land Rover products from places like Africa, Austria, and Middle East a few decades ago? Alex, how did you determine that the range rover is more offroad capable than the LX (LC200)? I've seen tons of videos of LC200 go head to head with the LC79 with rear and front lockers. I think you are bedazzled by the Range Rover badge Alex.

      Ford actually owned Land Rover group until few years ago (2000-2008). That is the main reason you will see similar design themes between something like Ford Explorer and Range rover. Of course, Ford explorer doesn't have the history of Range rover behind it so I guess Explorer has borrowed some design cues from Range Rover.
