    Billy we are all entitled to our opinions when it comes to the officials. Badger is not up to standard and it has nothing to do with gender. If male refs are fair game so should the females. Standards doesn't have a gender!! The ref that did the Gold Coast v Melbourne game had a shocker too!!

      Completely agree over Badger. She should have sent Mahoney to the bin. Last year she was in the bunker and made the worst decision ever - "Just checking another angle to see if the ball is over the line. Ball is on the ground No try" She like many refs are not worth $300k a year they are paid

Yeah yeah blah blah tell me to go put the boots on. I'm busy doing my job and to an expected standard that I actually meet. Football is for the fans - that's who we wouldn't have a game without. The ref issue stems from the top. The nrl board are run by the lawyers who are looking avoid any potential lawsuits. This leads to the over regulation of the game with constant rule changes, which in turn leads to the refs blowing their whistles every two seconds. Now that is not to excuse the refs; they have become over reliant on the bunker, all of whom make terrible calls based on what they have been told to pick on that week.

    • @BenWick-oc8pv
      @BenWick-oc8pv Před 20 dny +1

      I saw the full incident on a replay. After Badger bins Klemmer for simply yelling his opinion on a shoulder charge decision while running back into the defensive line it goes from bad to worse.
      Klemmer starts walking off and Badger sees a scuffle has broken out on sideline. As she starts walking toward the fray, Reed Mahoney (wearing distinctive headgear - only one on field with all white headgear and one of 2 or 3 in NRL with that colour) runs past her at hands distance NOT arms length.
      When Badger reaches the fray Klemmer engages her in protesting his binning. She talks back and ignores the fray for several seconds. The near touch judge is useless but the far touch judge has come across the entire field and simply tells "Klemmer you're off Leave the field"
      Badger made a poor decision to bin Klemmer. Penalize him and call out the captain for a warning was the right action but she choked
      She then made it worse by being inept and impotent in asserting her authority ti get Klemmer to leave.
      She then tops it off by binning another Tiger's player while ignoring Kikau and Mahoney who were 3rd and 4th man in. At least Kikau did not inflame the situation. Mahoney did which is why a Tiger player was binned
      This incident has nothing to do with gender and everything to do with competence

    • @Slinky599
      @Slinky599 Před 19 dny

      @@BenWick-oc8pv all good points. Only thing I’ll add is Badger already pulled the tigers captain aside in the game and warned about players “coming at me like that” as she put it. So bringing the captain over for a warning as you suggest seems a bit pointless at the stage that this incident happened.
      I don’t mean to defend her. I agree with everything you’re saying. But to be fair she has already done that. That said I don’t think Klemmer’s bin was necessary.

    Yeah I have no problems with Kasey Badger at all, BUT, She lost control of that game in the second half and the refs are to blame, not the tigers players and not the bulldogs players who were simply playing the game in front of them. I am going to blame to refs and touchies because of their poor performance, not asking players to get back onside (for both teams), obvious forward passes and wrestling in the tackles. Of course the tigers are gonna be frustrated when they way the game is officiated changes in a half. I’m proud of how my tigers played considering. The inconsistency in refereeing this year is the MAIN problem in the NRL not kick offs and not the players 🤣.

She did an awful job, and anyone watching with both eyes open, would agree. I enjoy their game - I think it is a more pure form of the game(like the game used to be played - backline movements - legs tackles etc.). They have their own game now - so they can stay away from the men(s) game - We have female commentators giving their expert opinions on everything on the men's game when their own experience is limited to either playing a handful of games or watching on T.V or attending a match. Seriously now their involved - let them do this shot on their own games. If I get a week - end off & want to go/watch the footy.I don't want to be brow beaten by women.
