  • Hey people
    Here I enter 2022 with a bang. This video is probably the most hard-worked video by me. A lot of information and solid video editing - all done by me. A lot of people wanted to know if its worth moving to the US as a Software engineer. I have tried to add as much information as I could. The decision is yours to make.

    Living abroad even if it is for small time is defineltey worth it. It opens your mind, change your perspective. You should trade your little home comfort especially when you are young. It's not just about saving money. If you get a chance then go for it, because you'll always have an option to come back to India.

The savings are 3X in US but if you permanent live there then again you will have the same ration of purchasing power or even less as India is cheaper(much cheaper). Genuinely said but sometimes families insist sending their kids as they don’t have enough finances to further fund even basic job based education . So eventually it’s a money game if you aren’t confident in India that you will be able to buy a place to live and enjoy basic aspects of life with the salary. One should plan a move. As the same support system gets very cruel if you aren’t successful in India.

    • @100GB

      If the aim is to do job just for 5 years in the US then internal transfer is the best option hands down!
      Because you don't need to spend in the US and be in debt for the education.
      If the aim is for a long term job, internal transfer will just give u 5 years. Now it's your luck to get selected in H1B lottery and extend beyond 5 years.

    I don't think its about money or saving that much which in any case going to be higher.
    Its more about moving to a developed country and hoping to settle down there permanently and live a much better and peaceful life. Btw you don't convert USD to Indian rupees when you compare things, that's not how it works.

    • @100GB
      @100GB  Před 2 lety +2

      Yeah, it can actually depend!
      For example, if you want to achieve financial independence in the US, it's very hard because you would need to save multi million dollars which is actually not possible with a job.
      However if u wanna achieve it in India, earning in the US helps.
      If the purpose is just to live in a developed country to have a better and peaceful life (debatable), it is fine to think about long term.
      Life here is not really that comfortable as far as married life (without kids) is concerned. There are pros and cons and hence some trade-offs have to be made.

    Overall nice video !! But you are only showing these numbers from freshers perspective, for taking internal transfer to US in most companies I think you have to work for atleast few years then only you can apply for an internal transfer. And for that level salary is much higher. I have few close friends who are working in US after internal transfer and their annual salary is around 250-300k. So all calculations shown in the video will be different in that case. I am just raising a point. Your videos are awesome !! 😄

    • @100GB
      @100GB  Před 2 lety +2

      Yes and No.
      For internal transfers to US one has to work in the Indian company for atleast an year.
      And yes, I compared the fresher level of India with the fresher level of the US. Even for higher levels the scale (~4x) almost remains the same but yes one ends up saving more.
      FYI, I didn't consider stocks because they vary a lot from company to company!
