Did this on my j11b but broke 2 clips on both sides....now I bought the j12 but I'm not gonna upgrade the turning lights this time ..for one I like them the way they are and second I can't find a CZcams clip on how to proceed....to afraid to damage the mirror caps on an expensive car 😬
You can see on 0:18 that the connectors of the new indicators are male connectors. The connector on the car is female so indeed it didn't need cutting. I did on my tutorial because the first batch had the wrong connectors installed. I send mine to China so they could make good ones. Maybe he just followed my steps here? Anyway I would advice to never cut wires this way; both in one movement. If you do not have the battery disconnected it could generate a shortage! This said, keep posting mate. ;)

If you still have the old lights from the car, just pull the 2 wires from the top..
They would have just plugged together.
