    A few years ago a friend of mine, tied a bunch of these with one difference. Instead of white Ostrich, he used White UV fibre for the body.
    My son was up fishing with me, so for fun I put two of them on his three fly setup! He caught two double headers! A great little pattern for sure!

    This is an interesting pattern. Usually the legs are a definitive marker on the Corixa, but this one depends on the trapped air bubble. I appreciate this pattern and will try a few this year. Thanks so much David, hope you are feeling better.

    If anybody is looking for a good substitute for natural white peacock herl I suggest trying white marabou. Just even out the tips and tie the marabou in by its tips, twist them so the fibers to bring them together. and build the body the same way as shown in the video. You may need to experiment with the amount of marabou, but by using mostly the tip section gives you a similar neat look as shown by Davie and arguably the marabou herl gives a nice extra movement when pulling the fly, if that's something you are looking for. Cheers!

    I did enjoy it, Davie... thank you.
    I've watched this one a few times, moved my laptop screen around to change the color intensity, and it looks to me like the pheasant tail is a different color than the ones I take off pheasants here in Wyoming. Looks like yours are darker and less red (more brown-red). I knew of melanistic pheasant tails (have some from CooksHill) but wasn't aware of color difference otherwise. Am I just not seeing correctly or are there differences?

    Excellent again Davie , how would you fish that ? possibly in a team of three ,Claret Hopper on point ,maybe something like a parachute buzzer in the middle and this one on the top dropper, floating line 12 -15ft co-polymer leader greased does that sound feasible or too much,
    I looked up how to ty a corixa and your was about the best out there thanks Davie

      Hi Stuart,
      It can fish anywhere on the cast though I like to fish it below a dry like the bubble cdc caddis around weed and close to the bank or rocks twitching it to induce a take...
      All the very best Davie....

    Hello Davie,
    I was wondering about the width of the Krinkle Flash... is it like a medium or ???
    Mike

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  Před 8 lety

      Hi Mike,
      It's more a small than medium though you can use a couple of strands to get the width if you need it...
      All the very best Davie

    Davies, I have used bleach to clean the stem of peacock eye to use as a body. I assume then I can't use bleach to get the color out of a peacock feather. What can be used as as substitution for white peacock?
