A few years following my graduation, Evergreen sank to the low of inviting a convicted cop killer to speak at their commencement. once the college is finally made officially non accredited the new owners will need to not only rename the place but demolish the tower and square. put new buildings or park features over it or just bull doze it out. Perhaps a good trade school could do the work themselves. Each graduating class contributing one more erasure of the old to something more beautiful and useful.

BTW riot happened when a professor refused to stay home after marxist students asked White people to stay home to show solidarity with them. Insanity !

I have to agree with you TOTALLY on this one. I moved to Lacey my senior year in high school and went to South Puget Sound Community College to start with. I had several friends go to Evergreen and so naturally I applied. I was going to get my degree in English with a concentration on creative writing. I even had a professor who wanted to sponsor me. I had the grades, tons of writing awards and several letters of recommendations from professors but they turned me down....all because I was a Christian. -GASP- oh my! Heaven forbid I didn’t have such an open mind that my brain fell out! They told me that “if you ever liberate yourself from that antiquated mind control doctrine I could re-apply and they would think about allowing me to attend.” I went to Western Washington University instead. LOVED it. Gorgeous campus, great dorms, best little pizza shop in the center of campus. Breathtaking view from the main cafeteria of the ocean. Fantastic writing and arts programs. Having Evergreen turn me down was the best rejection of my life. Btw...you were lucky you only smelled the moldy people...I was constantly sitting next to the major BO hippies. I had a couple of classes out there through SPSCC...I don’t think about 80% of the student body bathed or believed in deodorant. My classes were in the summertime too. One guy in particular was uber dirty and smelly. Tall scrawny white kid with massive blonde dreds, tan pants he had probably never washed, t shirt with pot leaf on it with frayed holes in it, birkenstocks, dirt under his fingernails, always sipping on some green vegan smoothie so he was “gassy” all the time too. The dude had a smell that is indescribable...it lingered long after he had left. I had to give him a ride one time and I swear it took a month to get rid of the smell. I febreezed the crap out of the seat but it would only mask the stench. Such sweet memories..lol.

As a former state college professor, I find that as twisted as self-grading is it is on some level more honest and transparent than the ridiculous grade inflation that we are now experiencing where professors have pressure to pass kids that did failing jobs. Both ways get degrees to those that didn’t deserve it, but at least one side does it with transparency to the students, their parents, and to future employers.
Oh, man, having to remember gender assignments that change every day? Good Lord, my head almost exploded, listening to what went on there. It explains more what happened in 2017. It's like invasion of the body snatchers. OMG. Glad you survived it with your common sense intact.
My buddy who works in HR has a blacklist with Evergreen college on it. The thing with HR and background check companies is that they share data of bad colleges and stuff to avoid. It sucks that prior graduates get lumped in with the loons but companies don't want that nonsense.
That is absurd. And this is coming from someone who shares some of the uploaders views about the college and had a coworker today left that I graduated from there. And yes I get it, but for one not sure what your buddies company is like, its obviously not science because as I said in my comment, the college is quite respected in those regards. Also in ratings Evergreen is 50 out of 120 in a grouping of colleges in the West. So while it could be better, theirs at LEAST 50 colleges in the wider region that are considered worse. Sounds more like theirs different reasons for your buddies views.

I graduated WWU, in Bellingham, but that was 20 years ago. I'm not sure what it's like now, but that gender stuff at Evergreen would unravel me. No way I could do that.

I survived. (And got to work outside of school to pay my way) but it wasn't easy. It mad me angry everyday to be on campus. Not going to get upset again. It's over and done. I have an inkling you may be a minority. This also explains why in the very beginning when I watched you it seemed you were ill prepared for the stress of life. As a business owner, a college degree is now something I need to sift through and see where it came from and more importantly, what past work experience does this person have. A degree means far less to me now than it did 25 years ago and it's a change fine tuned from reality of college graduates true abilities/inabilities.

These new auto-passed professionals are the biggest cluster, because they still have room temperature level IQs in spite of the pretty participation degrees.

I would assume a current diploma from Evergreen today is nearly worthless. I agree that most things take a while to percolate and come to a head.

No one forced Eric to go there. There are colleges and universities of all kinds that cater to all different types and political beliefs of people. Would you go to a bible college and piss about being forced to be around people that believe in god??
@@jacknimble1 Perfectly fine for a private university. However this is a State University, that is now actually heavily subsidized by the state. Staff there are state employees working on behalf the state. On what earth does the state have the right to tell you to do these things?
Eric, I remember the abuse you went through to finish your degree. Some of those abusers followed you around online spreading hate and lies about you. They messed with your income and ability to make an income. I think you should do an Evergreen State College fact video once a year.

Two years ago the marxist students took over the university. They intimidated teachers , kept faculty hostage, crashed a retirement party, stole the food , barricaded the exists, The cowardice President George Bridges let them do as they want. NOT one student was expelled , total opposite , he gave them positions in race relations and the like. Horrible. BTW riot happened when a professor refused to stay home after marxist students asked White people to stay home to show solidarity with them. Insanity !

I have to agree with you TOTALLY on this one. I moved to Lacey my senior year in high school and went to South Puget Sound Community College to start with. I had several friends go to Evergreen and so naturally I applied. I was going to get my degree in English with a concentration on creative writing. I even had a professor who wanted to sponsor me. I had the grades, tons of writing awards and several letters of recommendations from professors but they turned me down....all because I was a Christian. -GASP- oh my! Heaven forbid I didn’t have such an open mind that my brain fell out! They told me that “if you ever liberate yourself from that antiquated mind control doctrine I could re-apply and they would think about allowing me to attend.” I went to Western Washington University instead. LOVED it. Gorgeous campus, great dorms, best little pizza shop in the center of campus. Breathtaking view from the main cafeteria of the ocean. Fantastic writing and arts programs. Having Evergreen turn me down was the best rejection of my life. Btw...you were lucky you only smelled the moldy people...I was constantly sitting next to the major BO hippies. I had a couple of classes out there through SPSCC...I don’t think about 80% of the student body bathed or believed in deodorant. My classes were in the summertime too. One guy in particular was uber dirty and smelly. Tall scrawny white kid with massive blonde dreds, tan pants he had probably never washed, t shirt with pot leaf on it with frayed holes in it, birkenstocks, dirt under his fingernails, always sipping on some green vegan smoothie so he was “gassy” all the time too. The dude had a smell that is indescribable...it lingered long after he had left. I had to give him a ride one time and I swear it took a month to get rid of the smell. I febreezed the crap out of the seat but it would only mask the stench. Such sweet memories..lol.

As a former state college professor, I find that as twisted as self-grading is it is on some level more honest and transparent than the ridiculous grade inflation that we are now experiencing where professors have pressure to pass kids that did failing jobs. Both ways get degrees to those that didn’t deserve it, but at least one side does it with transparency to the students, their parents, and to future employers.

My buddy who works in HR has a blacklist with Evergreen college on it. The thing with HR and background check companies is that they share data of bad colleges and stuff to avoid. It sucks that prior graduates get lumped in with the loons but companies don't want that nonsense.
That is absurd. And this is coming from someone who shares some of the uploaders views about the college and had a coworker today left that I graduated from there. And yes I get it, but for one not sure what your buddies company is like, its obviously not science because as I said in my comment, the college is quite respected in those regards. Also in ratings Evergreen is 50 out of 120 in a grouping of colleges in the West. So while it could be better, theirs at LEAST 50 colleges in the wider region that are considered worse. Sounds more like theirs different reasons for your buddies views.

I graduated WWU, in Bellingham, but that was 20 years ago. I'm not sure what it's like now, but that gender stuff at Evergreen would unravel me. No way I could do that.

As an Olympia resident, I can honestly say you are SPOT ON about Evergreen!
I survived. (And got to work outside of school to pay my way) but it wasn't easy. It mad me angry everyday to be on campus. Not going to get upset again. It's over and done. But I felt I had some things to share with potential students that might change their mind if they search "Evergreen" on youtube from elsewhere.
You know the end is nigh when those who you are not allowed to hold accountable for anything have the power to hold you accountable for everything.

Very brave of you to post this. I would like to say I'm shocked but in 2019 I am not. I am glad you were able to still eek out an education from that place and made yourself a very successful life. I have an inkling you may be a minority. This also explains why in the very beginning when I watched you it seemed you were ill prepared for the stress of life. It's because you were so bombarded by stress just trying not to be singled out and abused while getting an education! Isn't that so true these places say they want everyone to be equal and be themselves.... But really they still had an agenda and expectations they felt you had to adhere to 'or else'. Sick. Glad you are away from there and I can totally understand your aversion to that place.

I am a longtime subscriber.I don't believe I have ever left a comment. I attended a private liberal arts college. It was not nearly as extreme as ESC. I am very aware of what happened at Evergreen in 2017. I follow Benjamin Boyce's podcast who is also an alum and who is also very critical of Evergreen. I respect you very much for making this video. It was awesome.

As a business owner, a college degree is now something I need to sift through and see where it came from and more importantly, what past work experience does this person have. A degree means far less to me now than it did 25 years ago and it's a change fine tuned from reality of college graduates true abilities/inabilities.
@@tlars8569 and back then, many of my peers went to college for 'ONE failed semester', because that's what happened if one wasn't academically prepared for college. These new auto-passed professionals are the biggest cluster, because they still have room temperature level IQs in spite of the pretty participation degrees.
All I can picture is an HR manager chuckling when he sees this school on an application.

Being someone that lives close to that collage ,I appreciate your honesty that so many would never have the nerve to say! Thank you for sending out the warning to the country. Timing was great. We just went through a collage graduation for our granddaughter yesterday. She didn't go to Evergreen Collage! We knew better then to let that happen. Love that you show every side of the fence as you cross the country.
