- Things To Do & Best Beaches In PIRAN, Slovenia. You should visit Piran, a picturesque seaside town in Slovenia. Piran is a popular day trip form Ljubljana and one of Top Tourist attractions of Slovenia. Piran sits on a small peninsula surrounded by the Adriatic Sea and is famous for its medieval architecture and a maze of charming windy stone streets. Piran also has some of the best beaches in Slovenia. Piran is also a birthplace of famous composer and violinist Tartini. For more than half a millennia Piran belonged to the Republic of Venice and was also a flourishing spa town in Austro-Hungarian Empire. Between the world wars it belonged to Italy and after the WWII it became part of Yugoslavia, succeeded by Slovenia. Pirano is the Italian name of this bilingual town where signs are written in both Slovenian and Italian. Hi guys, I am Rok and I’ve spent last 9 years travelling around Europe as a tour guide and I want to show you what to do in Piran Slovenia.

Oh what wonderful memories I have of this beautiful village. Used to spend many weekends there when I lived in Germany. How this American misses it. My very favorite place. Take the hydroplane across to Venice for the day. I think it's where I need to retire...

Slovenija 🇸🇮✌️
how to take beauties from Italy and Venice..
Bellissima cittadina ,inconfondibile arte e cultura slovena . Bravi 👍👏
Thank you for a very informative video. I am thinking of visiting Slovenia, and from Piran I want to go to Venice by ferry. What has been your experience using this ferry?
Thanks for asking. It is a passenger only ferry. I haven't used it as it doesn't run very often. But as far as I know it is quite comfortable and takes about 3 hours from Piran, similar time as a road transport. Poreč in Croatia is also connected to Venice by this ferry.
@@rokgoesaround Oh thanks for replying and for the tip. I have been watching your other videos and they are all great and packed with practical info. Very helpful🙏
Thank you for an informative video. I would like to visit the Istrian peninsula from Trieste to Piran and onto Rijeka or Pula. Is there public rail or bus between these cities? While I don't speak Slovenian, Italian or Croatian, I speak English and German with native fluency. Will language be a barrier for me?
Sounds great! Language will not be a problem as mostly English and also sometimes German will work just fine. Buses will be the easiest way as there is no direct rail connection, although if you have patience you could do it by train. From Trieste you will have to go to Koper first and then to Piran. And once you will want to go further south to Croatia, you will most likely have to go back to Koper. But the two cities are only about 20 km apart.
Flix buses are almost everywhere. Or just ask the local people!
Hi Rok, do you think doing a day trip to Piran from Ljubljana is enough to see the town? Maybe 5 hours or so . Thanks
Yeah I think it can be a lovely daytrip.
@@rokgoesaround thanks 😊
Hi Rok. Hope one day you also visit us in S. America. You will be more than welcome in my coutry, PERU, the land of the Incas.
Thanks Alexis. Nice to hear a comment from Peru. I have been in Peru about 15 years ago and I loved it. Travelled across the country on a motorcycle. I plan to come back one day, but this time I am bringing my camera 🤗
@@rokgoesaround hahaha you mean that 15 years ago when you visited Peru you didn't bring your camera? 15 years is such a long time. It's time to come back over here
2:25 if you look to the right there is a number 4 on a house behind is my apartment 😂
That is wonderful. You are so lucky to have an apartment in such a beautiful town.
There s no sand beaches?
No, not really.
Yes there are 3km away in Portorož
Go to Hawaii with the other idiots.
Too bad they re painted the town a different color which SUCKS
