  • Brantley’s project is an automatic login app. The way it works is a user holds their student ID barcode in front of the computer’s camera, which then gives the user access to one of four SPS websites that students use in their everyday lives. These websites all require a username and password to log in, and first-time users must input their first and last names so their information can be stored in Brantley’s database. (No passwords are stored by his application.) Once the initial handshake has happened, Brantley’s application takes care of opening the sites as well as inputting the username from then on. If the web browser is allowed to store the user’s password, logging into a site can be done simply by swiping a student ID in front of the camera.
