Making a one-handed Wine Master

  • Getting into the 130mm range is exciting. I still need to experiment with it to see about getting a Spyderco blade to fit. But here's a good start. Let me know what you think about the project and about how it turned out. This model of course isn't for everyone, since it's main feature is the corkscrew. So, if you're like me and you don't drink wine, then it is an unnecessary feature.

    Another vote for more 130 or 111mm projects. These Wenger models (I know it's Victorinox, but it's a line made from Wenger Ranger Grips after Victorinox purchased Wenger) were awesome. I like the ones with needle nose pliers like Ranger 74 Grip. My dream knife is Wenger RangerGrip 95 - Rescue II. These were made only 500 for Bulgarian rescue forces. They had everything. I'd like to see you make custom made one with the same tools that RangeGrip 95. Anyway - I love your channel and wish you well!

      I will be making a 111mm Spydernox here in the upcoming month. I will be using the Spyderco Delica 4. This will be my first 111mm Spydernox.
      Building a remake Rangergrip 95 would be exciting.

    I always wondered if adding scissors to a Ranger Grip 55 ( or Ranger Wood ) might be possible. As a bushcrafter I don't need the bottle opener or the can opener all that much, but scissors would be really nice. So maybe that layer could be modified.

    • @MrLordMonkey
      @MrLordMonkey Před 8 měsíci +1

      I've done a Ranger 55 mod to remove the opener layer altogether, and swapped out the corkscrew for the awl. Makes a really nice bushcraft knife: just blade, saw and awl.

    • @FittoSurvive

    Only the best from the best. Great journey mate, you make it look so simple. One of our colleague have been in the Hospitality for decades and has his own modified wine opener or rather a "waiter's friend". Besides making alteration, magnets is in use. Great little gadget but it hasn't a knife. A dedicated knife {Honey Badger) is carried in a modified sheath along with the waiter's friend. We get great ideas from watching your shows. Foil-Cutter: used to get the paper-wraps around the more expensive wine-bottles (sealing the cork) off (waiters cut them, bc the "rip off-thing" tends to fail its job); it is also used to pull the lable off the bottle (you can see wine-collectors asking for the lable if they drank a wine they don't have in their colelction yet)
    Also: nice work :) what is the source-knife for the onehanded-blade?

  • @bijanshahidi3933

    I am not sure why there is so much enthusiasm with the cork screw s . I am not a wine drinker but probably the European guys are. What I would like to see if you could somehow show is to replace the cork screw with that of a Philips screw driver found in my beloved the yellow Evolution S17. I like and collect Victronox stuff but my most favorite one is the E S 17. I wish they did that to many Victronox ones. Is there a way to buy that screw driver and replace the cork screw s. Thanks.

    • @FittoSurvive
      @FittoSurvive  Před 8 měsíci

      Yeah, the typical corkscrew can at least carry some small tools in them. But this large corkscrew can only be used to open wine... So, it really isn't useful for people like me or apparently you since we do not drink wine.
      The philips screwdriver can not usually be purchased separately. Sometimes you can find loose parts on Ebay.

    👍Respect. Recently, I came across an interesting review of a knife manufacturer (on the manufacturer's unfair practices, i.e. on the problem of tempering the metal. The magnacut scandal posted by. SURVIVE! The topic is interesting because there is a chance that it is due to an aesthetic error, which is probably not compromised by God knows how many products This also raises the question of what happened or what will happen to these blades, will they be resharpened into new models or will they be re-released for sale after some time as they are only repainted or disguised in some other way. Is this a problem only with Magnacut? I don't think so.
