- In October of this year, Robert Harley and team visited Shunyata Research in Poulsbo, Washington to tour their factory and learn more about some of their products. Including their just released ALTAIRA grounding hub.

About Robert Harley:
Robert Harley is the editor in chief of the Absolute Sound and the editor of the large-format book series the Absolute Sound’s Illustrated History of High-End Audio. Harley has taught college degree programs in audio engineering in addition to having worked as a recording engineer, a CD mastering engineer, and an audio journalist. That was *really* a great video that the team put together. Also, the video did an excellent job of speaking to some key content/information for viewers. Also, what I think will resonate most with viewers are the wonderful people working at Shunyata. They are all genuine, authentic, and passionate about what they do. Just as that wonderful team that worked all those years with Spirit and Oppy in "Good Night, Oppy", this is what _matters_ to people in their lives. That's a direct result of the _leadership_ that Caelin, Grant, Chris, Richard, and Lena and the rest of the management team provide.
Amazing company, people and innovations. Proud to be a Shunyata owner...

@@2fastdriving I not worry about affordability as you apparently do. I simply have a power system that easily makes your chosen game changer choice that of an advanced novice at best by comparison. I pursue through Designs, Inventions, and Ownership bleeding edge technologies for ultra high end, quite the contrary to your statements.

Yes cables make a difference ,I would spend time and money designing a great room first. Non parallel walls 45° corners and rising ceiling. Good cables will not make a bad room sound good, don’t put the cart before the horse. Have fun and listen to great music

Well done. Interesting to listen to, even relaxing. I just dealt with a hum problem in my setup which I really had to troubleshoot; it came down to the tonearm cable and the turntable's power supply being re-positioned. I can relate to the subject.
I am moving to Poulsbo in January and have a great admiration for this company's products!

There was bad audio, in the form of delayed feedback in some of the footage. Overall, it is clear that Mr Gabriel's ideas in engineering have transformed toward the most important aspects of enjoying, and protecting our valued, and honored systems. We wish him continued progress.
Great company. I have quite a few of their products. Shunyata makes the best power conditioners in the world. The Altaira is also revolutionary.

@@davidcross890 all other power filters are a joke. PS Audio regenerators are pretty good but Shunyata surpasses them. I have owned both. I kept the Shunyata.
@@Fluterra I have had both and tested both Shunyata and PS Audio P20. They both had a limited value for improving sound. Then I used two of the MIT Power Management Consoles that were far better but still were lacking what I needed. I then finished inventing my own circuit technologies that redefine what virtually perfect power can do. Non existent current limiting even for my monster mono amplifiers. I am sure that there are no real competitors to these new proprietary power circuits. They very easily outperform both audibly and MEASURABLY anything I have tested at any price. Heck the MIT PMC each retail for $28,350.00
Would you be for the posting of a public CZcams comparative test of all power products both audibly and measurably with posted results?
@@davidcross890 haha, no, because I have better things to do. I have had both the PS Audio and Shunyata products in my media room and kept the latter. You won't hear it on CZcams anyway ;)
At 21:38, Christopher Sanchez, an R&D guy is explaining the procedure for readying the cables which involves KPIP (Kinetic Phase Inversion Process). Hartley asks Sanchez what the KPIP process involves, and he clearly had no idea and handed the question off to the founder and president Caelin Gabriel, who also had no idea. Clearly, Kinetic Phase Inversion is a pseudo-scientific term that was made up to sound impressive. They should have studied up on the word salad they use in their ads. It also appears that much of their cable line is held together with epoxy, hot glue and heat shrink. Their "special" cables are shown in bulk rolls in the warehouse, without any additional care, nor any indication of why they are so expensive. Richard Rogers, another employee, explains that he doesn't like to put his money into system building. He'd rather spend it on his family and fishing. This is the company that wants to sell you $10,000 2 meter cables..
Alternatively, they both know exactly what it means, and just aren't about to give it away for free. Which is consistent with potting, to prevent people stealing their intellectual property. More often than not the theft comes from people who have little regard for the time and effort it takes to develop products like these. If you can't hear you don't know, and so why should we care what you think?

I am quite aware of several products that realistically in the eyes and ears and minds of many have earned the snake oil thoughts. I am inclined to show by measured metric results comparatively what NON SNAKE OIL in the POWER to components market segment what invented proprietary technologies do in actuality to majorly benefit any system. Results are staggering.

His reasoning is totally flawed. If there are potential differences between different earth points then a proper balanced system will mitigate this as it no long uses the safety ground as part of the signal transmission. This is what properly design studios and pro audio have been doing for years.

went with the name i always thought the owner is japanese.
Hugely overpriced cables of many descriptions. None of which will prove their worth in a double blind listening comparison, or when analyzed at a suitably equipped test bench. But they're impressive looking, and yes the quality of construction is very high. I guess that's what makes them worth their obscene prices. You are paying to be impressed.
The black box/ “we don’t talk about that” stuff doesn’t instill a lot of confidence. Sounds like an outdated mindset to think it’s in your customers best interest to not know what they are buying.
That is explained by Caelin around the 16:00 mark. It’s both to prevent vibration and reverse engineering by competitors. It takes millions of dollars to develop these products so Caelin should be able to protect his IP. And the consumer benefits from the addition of vibration being eliminated.
How anyone after watching this can buy anything from this company is crazy. Where are the electtical engineers? The drs? Kpip (it is a joke Yeah?). Burn in for a cable?.
The r&d gut, No degree just learned on the way.

Where is the research department? Oh yes, it is in a "listening" room.
If anyone watch this and feel "yes" i am happy with spending a lot of money here, you need help.
Kudos to the interviewer for not asking for a drink of water to go with all the bullshit he was being fed.
