From Fremer: Pro-Ject always has a big presence at High End Munich, but this year the company had its biggest display, taking up a large section of Hall 3's center space. I would be attaching the blue to a rega p8. Clearly a better deck and more musical.
Why bother buying expensive audio? DIY your audio.. Be creative Be original Lot's of idea or knowledge you can get from internet. Be yourself..
Respects to dCS audio equipment. My streamer of choice is "more affordable"...the Linn Klimax DS/Organik/Utopik. A one box solution built like a pocket battleship and performance to match.
hand gold leafing sounds awesome but thats probably a huge premium
Great cartridge nothing comes close at that price. Highly recommended
Maggie's always were considered really nice high-end speakers by many audiophiles, ever since the Tympani multi-panel models, and especially when they first introduced the fabulous true hf ribbons in the MG-IIIr model. I liked them a lot, despite the obvious limitations. Thank you for the informative updates video!
Tom, I've enjoyed your reviews of the Dali and the Focal Bathys headphones. After seeing your review, I'm going to try out the Bathys at our local Focal dealer. I'm sensitive to the ear pressure from some headphones like the B&w P7, which I didn't keep due to the headaches they caused. I'm hoping the Focal don't cause the pressure issue. I think I might like their total balance better, and ok giving up a bit of resolution. I don't think there is a Seattle dealer to try the Dali anyway. Hope to see more headphone videos from you.
If you live in a home. And still use line power to run sensitive devices. You don't understand induction and cosmic energy. 😊
Who the hell buys at GS1000x price range and still midrange? lol!
❤❤❤❤
Still got my PD 284 which I converted to my spare SME 3009 Non Detachable Headshell Version Arm of 40 odd years.Sill looks and sounds great!
Cynthia, I would really like you to try putting two of your LISST tubes in the two left hand buffer tube sockets and put two of your 6SN7 tubes in the two right hand gain tube sockets and let me know how you think it sounds. I think they really sound good together. You can get even better sound if you upgrade the stock JJ 6SN7 tubes. I'm currently running two LISST with two Shuguang CV181Z tubes and they sound great together. You get several benefits by using two LISST with two 6SN7 tubes which I have listed below: 1. LISST don’t draw any heater filament current so your filament current transformer only has to supply half of the current it would with four tubes installed. I’ve seen many people say that they have had problems with this transformer failing because with four tubes installed, it is running very close to its maximum output. 2. LISST don’t wear out like tubes do so when your tubes do need to be replaced you only have to replace two tubes which saves you a lot of money. Also if you want to do tube rolling you only need to buy two tubes instead of four which will save you a lot of money. 3. Your Freya+ runs much cooler because you only have the heat from two tubes instead of four.
Hate to break it to you guys, but Class D amps are basically switching power supplies. They just vary the output voltage to track the input audio signal, rather than maintaining steady output voltage or tracking battery charging current. The properties of GaN FETs that make them work so well for Class D (extremely rapid on/off switching and very low source-drain resistance) also make them work well for any type of switching power supply or motor controller. Hell, even the newest F-35 radar uses GaN FETs to modulate the output pulses, because their fast switching makes them able to handle more power without overheating. Not to say that they aren't extremely well-engineered and fantastic-sounding amps, but there's nothing about them that can't be recreated with other GaN FETs once the original sample group is used up.
Hate to break it to you but... a grain of truth followed by misleading narrative is really just misleading narrative.
. Single Drivers make for good mid-ranges though. Acid Jazz, Funk & Brass 🔈🔉🔊
OMG Animalympics!!! I ADORED that movie. Subscribed:):)
Congrats to Tommaso talking so well english... Congratulazioni a te Tommaso per il tuo inglese.
Definitely THE TOP SHELF audio shop in Houston. Great staff. These guys helped me out by facilitating a Luxman amplifier repair and was very pleased with their approach to customer service.
Looked like a fun trip. There is so much to the gear itself, but learning the backstory adds more color and personality. Love it.

Tom, thank you for starting to present on video while you’re speaking a little faster now. In prior episodes I felt that you were speaking very slowly and softly and now you’ve picked it up a bit. Again, thank you.

Audio Club has Italian Air powered turn table Japanese gold cartridge 😮
Tom: Great post on Gold Note.
Art + Science = 🎶
Something seriously wrong with these people. Never happy with anything always looking for the unobtainable. They will never have a happy life and will never listen to music because they listen to the equipment. Get a life sir.
Hi, Michael. I will recommend a Reader’s Digest set titled Scheherazade:Rhapsodic Mood Music. As was usual with RD sets, this one was manufactured by RCA from their own recordings. I was surprised by the quality of the recordings and pressings: perfectly silent surfaces, excellent clarity, air, definition, dynamics. I bought a completely new sealed set in stereo.
Would love to hear your opinion on the HD650 it measures and sounds like a high end headphone at an affordable price.

The answer to your question is **NO**
You didn’t mention the felt mat.
High End speakers playing shit Jazz, high end Snobs don't know music.
I have Martin Logan Motion 60XTi previous generation speaker in red walnut finish! Way more beautiful than the new generation of Martin Logan Motion speakers!
For goodness sake. Peoples ignorance is shocking. I will agree that these fuses are wildly expensive. However, not knowing exactly what research has gone into the product I’d caution a tonne of criticism here. More to the point, YES fuses sound different. Whether that’s worth the money is another question. Oh and btw all you experts with educations, how about you conduct an experiment and actually test these fuses before running away with your “my textbook didn’t tell me this” comments.
Don't let them get to you. Responding not needed.
And if in a thousand years there is no AC, no power. Vinyl can be played with a needle on a spinning platter. Files will be gone and optical of no value.
I suspect that although TL speakers are fantastic in their own right, a separate self powered subwoofer or two with room correction can really help a devoted audiophile dial in their system with the “right” amount of lower end register they desire that is practically infinitely adjustable.
Is that the L1 ? If so fantastic, or another option is the Ayre KX R20
What a cool place! We need more shops like this.
That house in California would be 5 million dollars, honest.
Tom, great review smorgasbord of components -great energy. It looks like everybody was having a blast.
Great video that captures the energy and excitement of the event. We had a fantastic time with our audio friends. 3ma is an amazing experience... The staff treat you like family in a zero pressure atmosphere. More akin to an audio club than a store. It was great speaking with you at the event, Tom! Keep up the excellent videos :)
Which would be great amp to pair with X3?
I need to get down there soon! Great video, Tom!
Don't carry any panels 😮 Alsyvox or Clarisys IWBN
Tom is a really nice guy. I had the pleasure of speaking with him for a bit at the event. 3MA is a great place. Luis and Johnny are both super helpful and hospitable
Tom: This is a great post. Keep up this series. We need more brick-and-mortal stores like this.
I have another store session scheduled for end of June (probably July video). If you know of stores we should cover, LMK.
3mA HighEnd Audio list used on ebay 😮
This is my kind of place. I would be in there all day!
Ironically, measurements (from several different sources) of the E3 show a small _increase_ in frequency response relative to Harman around the 100Hz mark, and Dan Clark introduced this on purpose (to provide the warmth and 'dancey'-ness you mention) - you have the same thing in the Stealth. Maybe he should have gone further with this?
Set up good microphone and demo the sound for the god's sake
you could get 2 Shure V15II for a $100 no tax at J&R
