I just lost my friend who loved this group and this song. He's the reason I love this group too ☺️, but sadly after only 7years of friendship, he passed away Dec. 23 2022 and this song hits me so much more than before and I just wanna say thank you for making this song. ❤️❤️❤️
I love this song but it makes me cry every time. At my wife's funeral we played this and there wasn't a dry eye in the place as they listened to the lyrics and beautiful music. Thank you so much Candice and Ritchie for this. I know she is always in the flame with me.

I listened to this because of an author. The author didn't inform me that I need tear reserves.
I have never decided to listen to this song - it always starts playing in my head as a melody, and I stop to think and figure that it is this song and start singing the lyrics because I know them by hearth. It is always strong moment and comfirmation I made a good choice.
This great song is so underrated!
I can think of no better song to be played as a memorial to fallen 1st responders and military service members - both active and retired as it so wonderfully speaks to what drives them to proceed resolutely toward what everyone else is running away from in order to protect all of those they have made the commitment to serve with courage and honor.

Dandelion wine is genius. This also has incredible lyrics. For a while, Village Lantern was my favorite go-to quote source. I love it. I have been to 7 concerts all over Europe, and it is still impossible to say which is my favorite song. Possibly Renaissance Faire, possibly Midwinter's Night, possibly... all of them 🤗
I’m uncertain if you read the comments below your videos, but in the event that you do find the time I would like you to know that your voice is ardently appreciated. I have been unable to do anything but memorize every original work and rendition I have heard it sing. Among so few voices that can set this off in my head, yours is a shining example. I love every instrumental choice that happens alongside it. I have yet to hear a single dissonant song. Every soul by whom these songs were composed deserves credit for their skill, and I strongly hope that they continue to find it. I love your music.

That's what I was thinking about as well at the time
Not at all. It just sort of reminds me of some of the characters and the overall message of Star Wars. Each verse could represent a different character, like Luke, Obi-Wan, Darth Vader, Padme, Leia, Han. Those are the main ones who come to mind. The point of Star Wars is that hope can always be found, and the idea of a village lantern always shining and lighting the way home gives me that vibe. It's just a little thing that makes me smile while I listen to it. Hope that clears it up for you :)

I was wondering it maybe this was a cover of that. Perhaps that song is the same one and perhaps older than the Princess Bride and is just an old folk song. Blackmores night love their old folk songs.
