Ritchie Blackmore went from heavy metal to renaissance music. Always loved how versatile of a guitarist he was. This song is one of his best.

This feels like a dimly lit tavern full of old friends who have sang this song hundreds of times before and not a single one is sober. A genuine good time, and it's not ending til sunrise. Lots of nostalgia for something that has never happened to me.

This song has a lovely blend of Celtic and tavern style music. A faster/stronger beat than most Celtic, but more contemplative and ethereal than drinking songs. Plus the vocals give the whole thing a mystical, surreal quality. Like this town exists just beyond our perception . .

This is being so inspirational while writing my new novel about witches. I feel so lucky I found this magical and wonderful music
Their songs tend to talk about something just enough to get the imagination working.
I remember my dad always playing this stuff when I was younger. Just now found it after searching forever. Richie Blackmore is a god on guitar & Candace’s vocals just fit it so perfectly. Makes the perfect “renaissance” sound. Has me picturing times with King Arthur and Merlin. That’s what I thought of when I heard this as a kid lol.

I was looking for a 'voice' for a character of mine and wasn't paying attention to my playlist; when the vocal line came in I practically ripped my earbuds out scrambling for my phone to check the song title because I realized that it was how I'd pictured her sounding, and I could so clearly see her singing the song.
