- Whether or not Project Tamriel is real, the Starfield modding scene is likely to see an uptick in major projects being taken on. Between the increase in storage size and money starting to make the rounds, expect big projects to continue to be announced.

also, Project Tamriel is already a thing - they stole the name. PT is collective of modding projects for TES III: Morrowind. This information is a copy-text and google search away.
Can't wait to see the update on this in 10 years when there's barely any progress

Same here. We can wait for the new Elder Scrolls and have a brand new experience then instead of waiting for a 20 year long modder dev cycle just to get an existing elder scrolls with better graphics in the SF engine. I want Starfield related expansions

It sounds extremely unrealistic to me. There is "ambitious" and then there is just being silly and unrealistic. It sounds awesome but I don't think he was has any idea just how much work integrating the quests from just one game into Starfield would be (it could take years), let alone multiple games with all the assets (which he would have to recreate, for multiple reasons not just port).
If you are interested in helping out on one of these major modding projects I strongly suggest you choose to help out and donate your time/skills on a more realistic project.
I mean we have skywind and skyblivion so it's not impossible but it would take years and a big team to do it
What would even be the point, why would u not just play the actual games, the engine hasnt changed much since Skyrim, a game within a game?

That Project Tamriel post was definitely written by ChatGPT. You can tell from the writing style.
That post is definitely written with AI. It sounds exactly like other AI posts. It would also explain the inconsistencies between what is said in one part of the post vs the other.
No chance this will ever come to light. The Skyblivion project has taken many people many years to nearly release. This project sounds 3x as ambitious!
Yeah I don't see it
honestly that star wars overhaul sounds way more interesting than project tamriel anyways.
Idk I feel like if I wanted to play Skyrim I would just play Skyrim. The Starfield UI and stuff would annoy me cause it isn’t Skyrim.
Edit: Apparently this mod is literally just a joke Matty lmao
I bet this “Skyrim mod” will come out before Star Citizen does…
No chance, also why. So you can mod skyrim and oblivion within starfield?

The "project tamriel" sounds like a troll post. On one hand they write about "bringing whole Tamriel" (like Beyond Skyrim) then about "recreating Skyrim Oblivion and Morrowing" with their quests characters etc. (like Skyblivion or Skywind). Have they forgotten that those games are set in different time? Also, a modding project being size of a single game (like Skyblivion, or Fallout London) takes 5 years minimum. They supposidly want to make between 3 to 8 of them in one mod.
Project Tamriel already is a thing. They need another name.
Man, what I really want is what I missed most about Starfield
1- Being able to travel between planets without fast travel
2- Being able to enter planets without fast travel
3- Being able to manually land and take off from my ship

The sooner we stop talking about Starfield, the better
With the way Starfield does the "fish bowl" map thing, you could have a modular release of maps and it's like oh this month we released the Whiterun fish bowl map and 4 months later you have a Bruma fish bowl map and just have it to where different sections are made and released. Doesn't have to be completely open world to be good.
I have an idea that is very very likely for paid mods.
Instead of having mods being sold for less, I think they’ll make the mods much bigger, for the same price.
It's taken over a decade for modders to recreate Morrowind & Oblivion in Skyrim, from different teams, yet even now neither one is finished.
The idea that mod users would somehow crowdfund a viable wage to pay for full time mod teams to make for such huge projects is ridiculous.
If you want a project crowdfunded, & want to sell the product, you are much better off making your own IP from scratch, in a generic engine than modding a game.
Full conversion mods are possible to complete, but most fail to go far & those rare successes take many years of unpaid work by many people.
Where’s the massive rebuild mods on Skyrim as it is. This is laughable that it will ever come out.
The project tamriel thing is like AI directing AI.
Blows my mind the number of people writing off starfield mods. I get this skyrim thing is probably bs but big mods like this are entirely plausible given the mod size limit.
In terms of performance i'm stunned by how well the game keeps running despite throwing more and more mods at it. I have around 150 installed and its pretty damn stable. If bethesda did one thing right it was the way they handled mods in starfield.
Built with mods in mind. 1000 planets!!!
Are you on pc or xbox?
@@skyriminspace I'm playing on Xbox.
@@jamiecurnock2910 i'm on pc but i couldn't get my copy of the game recognised by mod organizer 2. Thankfully, creation club works exactly how skyrim & fallout 4 modding worked on the old ps4, so now there's nothing stopping me.

I assume with xbox that you go through creation club on the Bethesda website?
Good to hear it's stable with 150 though!
The aquarium nature of Startfield's regions makes it much more suitable for a port of Fallout 1 and 2, instead of the 3d games, since those are also aquarium-based.
The reduced scope of those games also makes them better candidates for this, giving them a better chance of actually getting finished.
I would absolutely pay good money for that.
I'm hoping Starfield modding actually DOES take off and modders find their way around with it's modding tools. I'd love to give the game a second try, but there is no way in hell I'm doing it without mods out the wazoo
scam citizen is gonna release faster than this mod gets made lol
There are a hundred Star Wars mods but no Mass Effect?
There is one. As far as I remember
F. Star Wars, Disney ruined the IP so much I don't even want to look at it. Why not give other IP's more love? Like the Mass Effect, Warhammer40k, or even StarCraft.
Even if it is real, which I doubt, it would take years to make a mod that size. We're more likely to get ES6 before it releases, so the question isn't if it's real, the question is why bother?
I truly think that at this moment this is a non story.
It’s more than just the money involved or the 100g file size.
A big part of this is now mods can include other mod content. The starwars stuff is going so fast because it’s ton of different teams all going into on
Even if they're being paid, this won't finish
Can we get a mod where you play as one of the ghouls you shoot into space from new Vegas
Haha nice!
Elder Scrolls 6 will be out before this mod...
Only mod I'd wanna see, is one that gives a steadier frame rate closer to 60fps on console.
what a lot of people don't get is , that starfield allows people to make mods as a side job and make money from it.
We are going to get high quality content.
Starfield mods brought me back to this game. I love it
I can guarantee Star Wars conversions are going to be the big thing when it comes to modding for this game. Planet overhauls, locations, characters, quests, ships. It’s all doable and it will keep the community alive for a long time.
That sounds like a cool mod project, but the Star Wars stuff in Starfield is cool ngl.
How is starfield any diffrent no massive mods came out for bethesdas other games before the creation kit came out.
Man, as much as i want Star Wars mods, i would rather have Star Trek TNG mods. I want a cockpit module that's just the bridge of the Enterprise D.
Not a startrek fan...at all...but that fuckin cockpit from the enterprise is ICONIC id download it.
You have more chance of juggling snot than that Project Tamriel ever surfacing.
Money can be good or bad - I have been playing/watching Bethesda games since Morrowind - one of my first memories is semi-public modding drama, where a talented mod creator had gotten hired by Bethesda and other mod creators were complaining about it.
Also, as a mod creator you can't just copy assets from one Bethesda game to another - Skyblivion has to do all new voice acting after asking Bethesda. Tale of 2 wastelands (fallout3 in the new vegas engine - and you can travel between wastelands) jumps over hoops with verification that the user owns both products - and for a long time you were not allowed to even discuss TTW on the nexus, because of copywrite concerns.
Considering something like this develops on every new Creation Kit release and not 1 has made it to feature release we will see. Still looking forward to Sky... releases.
Probably the worst thing about this is the confusion this is going to create about the existing Project Tamriel, the Morrowind group for province mods (who, while they might not reach their end-goals, has reasonable interim goals and releases) such as Skyrim: Home of the Nords.
I was telling my gf before starfeild release that it wouldnt be long before all of tamreil using the previous games maps are modded in. I wouldnt be surprised if this inspires someone to do it.
thats a big snack. too many big projects for the old games are still in the hopper.
A Fallout mod would be probably better option since they have similar combat. (just no VATS) Example: if they made a vault, you could have it not be exactly the same as Starfield didn't seem to be stuck in a 1950's style culture but IDK maybe have a Vault that they people went into trying to not leave Earth but it failed or something (or even have character living in one IDK) but you could add a Vault Suit as an outfit to wear, even have weapons that look like the ones in Fallout, but have just a single location (not an entire planet)
(Not that I've even played Starfield, only watched people play, since don't have a console/computer that can play it)
they should do a mod that allows you to actually take off and land with your ship like in no man’s sky. shouldnt have even released the game without figuring out how to include that feature. complete dealbreaker for me. never played the game after hearing that it wouldnt be possible
So someone also thought of my idea of bringing the other BGS games into Starfield
I could have sworn that I just saw that this tamriel mod got canceled by the team that was meant to be attempting it.
I mixed that TGS mod with unlimited outposts building so I have 999 outpost slots and unlimited build limit followed by SKs static decoration mod now I essentially just go to each planet crafting my own universe.
That magic system simply does not appear inside Starfield, aside from Magic Effects from weapons/Hazards etc.
Really hopin one of Starfield's DLCs will add mechs so I can lead the charge on a full Gundam overhaul of the game.
That or a complete battletech I need my urbie
I think Star Wars mods will probably get hit with cease and desist from the IP holders.
Has that happened in other games?
@ras6794 it's already happening with some of the mods. If you want an open world starwars game, wait for outlaws this year. The real way I see it happening is if other IP mods start hitting creations store.
@@ras6794 If the mod is in the official Bethesda store, they can take it down, but if it's on Nexus, they normally are treated as fanart, that does not guarantee that they will not take down the mod, it is Disney after all...
@@Jameswilson-xd9nh hmm interesting
It's pretty ridiculous how a AAA rated game needs the modding community to fix it!!! This is the reason why I don't pay for a game when it first comes out!!!
I play on Xbox. When i choose the creations button, my game freezes, i am unable to play with mods. does anyone know what's going on or how to fix this? Again, i play on Xbox.
Good for them. For me personally, I don’t want a single iota of code from Starfield touching anything Elder Scrolls.
What we need is modders to come together and give us the star wars rpg the industry refuses to give us.
I'm sure eventually someone will make a planet Nirn within Starfield even if it's 10 years from now. I could even see them getting the planets map to have recreations of the maps of Tamriel but you cant recreate the games themselves because they dont take place in the same time periods. Oblivion is like idk at least between 2-10 years after Morrowind and Skyrim is 200 years after those games. If I had to choose, I'd just make Nirn as a planet and make the continents and map but have it set like 100 years after Skyrim so you (as the mod maker) could pretty much have free reign on what you put in. If you want to say the empire is gone and the Dominion won you can, or if you want to say Cyrodiil was destroyed by a giant meteor and is now an inland sea, you could. But anyway you do it, it will take at least a decade to make this a reality.
there’s literally no way this is ever happening. they haven’t even recreated oblivion yet. no shot. would that even be fun to play??
everyone: Sounds fake
Me: Sounds plausible if you only do the geography and none of the NPCs and Architecture. but not completely impossible if that's what they're going for but we're really burnt out on all the beyond Skyrim projects.
The other mods on their older games still haven't fully released.
I would love if a team took a planet and made Coruscant from Star Wars.
The only massive project that I'm interested in is the one that turns Stafield into an actual space game.
There's a Project Tamriel aside from the old Morrowind Project making Cyrodiil, Skyrim, and the Illiac Bay? The nerve!
I mean this is cool but I only bought starfield for the star wars mods lol
Now, that would get me to return to Starfield
Now if only Bethesda would bother to do anything with their “most ambitious game yet!” that’s still filled with game breaking bugs
I am also attempting the impossible. By making Fallout songs that would fit any fallout game like a glove...
Project Tamriel is a joke of big mods and gaming journalists
Big mods have announced huge amazing goals and gone no-where or fallen apart so much that now they're met with scepticism, and now this obvious troll is getting reported on everywhere
unless there no loading screens i ain't coming back!
We will all be playing elderscrolls 6 by the time this could possibly come out.
They should convert starfield to the Skyrim’s engine, so we can at least have horses, dismemberment and complete armor looting😂
modders have been trying to do this for so many years with past Bethesda games and I have yet to see any that are anywhere close to release. Highly doubt this one could ever be done in our lifetime lol
F. Star Wars, Disney ruined the IP so much I don't even want to look at it. Why not give other IP's more love? Like the Mass Effect, Warhammer40k, or even StarCraft.
I have serious doubts. Modders have proven that the game engine can't handle multiple sections linking together continuously. This will never see the light of day.
I gotta agree that modders can absolutely reach a larger audience with the increased console mod limit, but the scale of those mods (especially into the future) might be limited by whether the script extender (if one is needed) can be ported to Starfield on console. I have no idea how the new Creation Kit works but every recent BGS game has needed a script extender in the past for some of the more complex/ script heavy mods so I’m just guessing. Great videos as always!
when i read the video title, i thought they were making a "no loading screens" mod. 😭
as a dude that modded some daggers into skyrim years ago; this mod is impossible
What? They're gonna make the game good?
I admit that I heard of the Tamriel mod and I don't go looking for anything involving Elder Scrolls.
We all have ideas that we would like to see as a mod. I've pondered the idea of a Fallout mod based on the area where I live, despite the likelihood of it being nothing but a radioactive crater in the case of a nuclear war.
I'd wish them luck...
I would pay a whole $5 for a mod that makes shooting feel as smooth and fun as destiny or halo.
Bro really got trolled
I thought some big modders already said that Big Mods are not possible in starfield. Because of the script function of the Ship. Or am i wrong
It's suspicious? You don't say.
Either modders have to incorporate, or Bethesda and other serious/ambitious developers have to find ways to scale their companies bigger to make these games. Starfield was shipped at a completion to be expected from a Bethesda which didn’t scale itself to support the development of a game this big.
I think it has to do with the current pricing structure of the gaming industry. Bethesda maybe should make its games increasingly more expensive to support the scaling for games like Starfield.
Matty man, Beyond Skyrim is still in the works and seems so far away from full release, this mod isn't happening. Bethesda has to somehow make starfield fun in the first place, the game simply does not capture the magic Skyrim has...
I've put ~2k hours into Starfield. The Creation Engine isn't big enough for Starfield, why do people think it's big enough for this? I think I'm skipping on this (for now) I REALLY want to see what the do with Creation Engine 2.0. Before than, I can't see ambitious projects like this NOT becoming a buggy mess.
The game needs mods for exploration
Before Starfield even came out I figured someone would attempt this. It was a no brainer. To the point where I thought Bethesda themselves would include some sort of reference to it. For example a planet destroyed by a volcano similar to Red Mountain, or an ancient monument which looks suspiciously similar to the Adamantine tower.
I think it's obvious that this isn't happening; but I think a possible idea would be more reasonable would be to make a planet/cluster that's set for each game. So like each Hold in Skyrim gets its own planet, each with it's major/small cities and settlements (with the core similar to what was in Skyrim, but expanded to be a more sprawling city), with the world procedurally generated to mimic an expanded landscape around/between these things. This is all relative to having the right, knowledgeable people getting involved too. If Starfield is mainly big on console, (just looking at the PC numbers on Steam) I don't see as many big modder types getting in on Starfield any time soon as they're busy with their existing Fallout 4 and Skyrim mods.
I would love to see earth completely re-designed in the fallout universe with iconic locations, weapons, quests and enemies exc. Plus the zeta aliens
