I grew up in Bali, Indonesia eating tempeh, a dish called tempe manis and it’s so delicious. It’s fried tempeh mixed with a sweet soy sauce, garlic and chili. Indonesians make the best tempe! I understand why a lot of people don’t like tempe, it’s because they’re not eating it correctly!!

@@jasmineh617 You can minimize the bitter flavor by boiling the tempeh for about 10 minutes. It softens the tempeh which I have found helps it to absorb more flavors and it also reduces the bitterness.

so not specific to this video, but i just stumbled on your channel, very well done. i know that being vegan can be a challenge but you seem to have really mastered making appealing recipes. i would personally be interested in more vegan adaptations on Indian recipes, as i really enjoy Indian food, and while I 'm personally not vegan, people in my life are, so being able to share the food i make with them would be nice. I've messed around with some random "Indian inspired" lentil dishes, and by that i just mean i use various spices often found in Indian cuisine. I've also done a vegan adaptation of paneer makhani using tofu in place of the paneer and pureed and strained cashews in place of the cream. i don't know if you take requests, but i suppose that would be one, to show some other classic Indian dishes prepared vegan. prime example would be finding a replacement for ghee that isn't just oil.

It's from Annie's! Whole Foods' and Kroeger's store brand Worcestershire sauces are also vegan.
