  • The passengers side wiper arm is not moving at all. Teared spline - the wiper arm linkage working normally. A relatively quick repair with no spare parts needed. Up until this upload a month went by and the wiper arm holds and works. If you like to watch just the repair only, switch to min. 08:40.
Update 5.2.2023 - this repair still works.
    STEPS:
    1. Uncover the wiper arm nuts (passenger side has two)
    2. Unscrew the wiper arm (13 mm socket)
    3. Extract it from the spline (extractor tool)
    3. Make the spline clean by the wire brush
    4. Grind flat the inside of the teared arm hole (small engraving driller)
    5. Heat up the wiper arm material around the holes pretty high (blow lamp)
    6. While still hot, mount the wiper arms back on and tighten up the nut strongly
    7. Cool down the wiper arm by some oily spray, then with cooling spray to make the material shrink
    8. Testing and reassembling
    TOOLS:
    - Flat screw driver
    - Ratchet
    - Nut 13 mm
    - Extractor tool for the wiper arm
    - Wire brush
    - Engraving driller with abrasive block
    - Blow lamp (LPG) or other heater (hot air gun etc.)
    - Oil spray and water or cooling spray
    - Gloves (the wiper arms will be hot!)
    - Luck and time
    Update on 29.01.2022:
    The repair still works ok.

i have a similar problem, the thing is the wiper switch in the car behind the steering wheel doesn't make the wipers do what they should, when i press the switch down for one wipe the motor and mechanism spins many times and then stops in different stopping positions, so the park position doesn't work either, could this be caused by a relay or maybe something that controlls the wiper switch? i'm having a really hard time with this :(

Hi, I dodn't study how the electrical stuff works really, sorry about that. Maybe you can try to look at some manuals on bimmer-service page?
