    I can't wait to try this. I've been using the XVive U2 system with my bass for a couple of years now, and it's performed flawlessly.

      Same here. I used to use the Line 6 G30 but it was so glitchy I had to stop using it it. The Xvive has worked perfectly and the price is lower than the old style wireless systems. Absolutely outstanding. Only downside is that when the built-in battery eventually dies it's not easily replaceable.

      @@rrrripbing how long this u4 unit’s battery longevity? A year or more and in your usage how much you used it each week ? And for how many hours it says 5hrs this is the only downside where can I buy the replacement battery any ideas ? I have hard wired setup but I have the old behringer p1 style iem so it’s passive and I always need a preamp before this wire setup which makes it so much wire but cheap I also used the rolls 50 system nice but heard too much pink noise but did worked , I have used 3.5mm Bluetooth systems receiver and transmitter but they suck after a while month don’t have more than 1feet distance interference signal drops drastic , a cheap Takstar was a failure fm transmiter around the 500mhz no latency but had no headroom nor great output I had to max it and signal was too weak always looked pro but nothing pro inside after hearing it . Have you noticed any frequency drop Bass to 15khz auditable changes from wired ? I had a guitar wireless system 500mhz but this one lags in bass abit as you play anything through it you hear a small hiss noise in the receiver maybe the built in preamp is abit cheap quality . Any bad or great experience with this unit aside from the battery so the receiver and transmitter both have volumen levels ?

    I hear you say that it’s steady because it runs on the WiFi band, but that is what gave me problems with the Line6 wireless systems. When you are 6 people using them in a bar or club it clashes with every card reader and cellphone connected to the WiFi in the house. Problem is that you get complete drop outs with digital systems, not interference and quality drops.
    If Xvive solves this, great, but it’s hard to know until you are already on stage gigging, since the there are more signals in the air then.

  • @manifestgtr
    @manifestgtr Před 2 lety +2

    I’ve been using a sennheiser system with my main band for about 5 years now and it’s been pretty good (a little bit of noise here and there but eh…there’s about 10 wireless devices on stage). I got one of these for the side jobs that I take and it’s been pretty surprising. It’s actually much less noisy than the senn….but it’s also much newer so we’ll see how that shakes out with time. Reliability is always the number one factor. My u2 has been good so if that’s any indicator, these units seem like a pretty good investment. It’s just weird to pay so little for an in-ear system. With this, I think my entire setup is like $700 all in, which is *mental*

    Fantastic! I've been looking for a reasonable in-ear system for our church ... small church with a couple of us playing up front ... can't use wedge monitors because it adds to the house mix .. but if I play electric I can't hear a stinking thing I'm playing. This would be refreshing!

  • @bar_mando
    @bar_mando Před 4 lety +9

    Bought this from sweet water, i was very excited, but unfortunately, two issues have come up
    1. The unit interferes with my wireless guitar system. I have the Shure GLXD6 - they both operate on the same frequency. I was unable to find a frequency that wouldn't interfere at a distance greater than 5ft.
    2. Sweetwater told me they already had a recall.
    I was pumped about this, very promising, but i dont think i can trust the 2.4Ghz frequency especially where we have wifi everywhere

    • @kappyLV
      @kappyLV Před 3 lety +4

      Dan Fox , in over 40 years of gigging, I’ve never had a stereo monitor mix, whether it’s floors or iem. To me, it’s a moot point for stage purposes. Unless you’re in a theater, maybe some churches or a higher end touring situation, stereo is just not necessary. And in those situations, you wouldn’t be using a $225 WiFi in ear system.

    • @billhallsongs
      @billhallsongs Před 9 měsíci

      Kappy, thanks for making that point...I just saw your response from a few years ago. I had asked clarification about my assumption the unit was mono. I think you are right, in most applications unless you are the mixing engineer, mono would be fine and maybe even better for the performer on level. Great point!

    2.4 GHz is going to give issues. That band is massively overcrowded. If you're in a place where it's setup indefinitely and have a relatively quiet 2.4 band, you should be fine. However, if you take it on the road, and run into an audience with phones all looking for the free WiFi, something bound to go on the fritz.

    When you’re talking about a monitor you shouldn’t have random music playing in back ground. You should only play music through the monitor so we can know it works.

    Why would any full band want to use a system that only offers a single mono output for IEMs? To reap the full benefit of IEMs, you need a stereo mix. That means a receiver with 2 XLR outs. Sorry, UVive.

    Mono, mono, mono. This is the most disadvantage for this kit. For that reason I won’t be buying or using it. What’s the point of mono signal REALLY!!!!! What you also didn’t talk about was latency.
    I guess this unit is ok if you don’t care too much for actually enjoying your performance. In real life who listens to mono on purpose.
    Xvive, just make these things stereo and you will have a big market share. Mono is so so off putting.
