Q50 REAL Carbon Fiber Diffuser Installation

- You guys know that I don't like Carbon Fiber all that much and if you've been following along, you would know that I have also grown to like the look of the car without a rear diffuser. However, I couldn't pass up on a good deal and snagged an extra diffuser from a subscriber!
Here is a guide to installing a rear diffuser, not only on a Q50, but on any car you can think of. It takes just a bit of prep work and a few key steps and you'll have a diffuser properly secured to your vehicle in no time! Somehow, a couple of key clips were missed when editing this video. I did use 2 small, self-tapping screws on the underside with flared heads to secure the diffuser to the small bumper brackets. No washers necessary thanks to the flared heads of the screws. You also got a glimpse of the painters tape used to hold the diffuser in place for several hours. I used a lot of tape in the corners and in several directions across the top--even more than you saw in this video. Hope this video was helpful!

Looks great💯🔥
That’s super flushhh! Looks great!
Thanks!
Looking good!
Looks great!
Thank you!
More CF , looks mint, perfect with d rear spoiler. Great work, as always, d king of Q !
😃Your videos are just too simple too informative play by play each step how can a viewer go wrong 👍👍
Thank you!!
Looks great, I wish I changed the tape on mine. Started coming apart on me recently. Probably should have done a light sand as well. Think I'm going to replace mine with a Carbon Fiber and do exactly what you did! Thanks for the video!
Yeah just a light sanding makes a big difference
If you are using tape on paint you should never sand it. Only sand when you are painting. The "slicker" is always better for vinyls and adhesive tapes.
I feel like the new grey wheels make these small cf touches fit in even more. Looks clean. I'm getting ready to take of my diffuser, skirts and lip and re do the mounting tape that hasn't held that great after a year.
Yeah I definitely think the wheels help tie it all together.
To make it easier use painters tape on both the diffuser and car bumper with markings to line it up during the dry fit test. Looks sweet.
Good idea.
Carbon fiber hood, fenders, and trunk would look sick on ur q50,but hella expensive, diffuser looks great though😁
Looks really good! I've been looking for one just like that, but, when I have the money, none are to be found. When I'm broke and low on funds, I see them everywhere.
I know what you mean lol
man i just put mine today too but the gap on the corner was showing and was visible so decided to screw it shit kinda tripping
Hey brody what do U think of the rear diffuser for the 09 infiniti m35
G35 fits on carbon fiber loke 600
the guys channel is 5StarGarage
if U have time let me know
it looks pretty dope
Blessings man take care
Badass
Yeah taking off the cheap tape makes the difference. I had a cheap ebay and had to use vhb and 3md adhesive promoter to make it all come together.
Wish you made one the diffuser with the brake light and how to connect the wiring
Sorry brother!
Where can I find that diffuser
So did you end up using bolts, washers, self tappers? Is that originally from jalisco? Looks good
I’m not sure where it is originally from. I don’t think Jaliscos-he has the brake light. And yes, self-tappers. I thought I showed that in the video.
Hey bro love your content I was wondering how big are your exhaust Tupac
Tips*
Check out my exhaust videos for full details and links, but they are 2.5" inlet 4" outlet dual wall slant cut
I have the same carbon diffuser, but my tail pipes don’t stick out far enough once the diffuser is on-
Yours look really good- is it a full exhaust or did you just extend your tips?
It’s a full system. Check out my SCS Catback video if you’re interested in details.
I want a rear diffuser on our q50 too, but the only issue is it easy to also remove it too if you want to change it up in a few years?
Yes very easy to change later
Very nice. Did you use 1" or 1/2" width 3M tape?
1/2 if I remember correctly
Looks hella good! Carbon fiber trunk next 😄
That’s be sick. Maybe fenders and hood
@@SpeedCultureStudios I think that's the goal for all Q50 owners lol
Trunk , Hood & doors cabron fiber 😂 I have a left leg to trade & possibly a kidney the right one . for that set up 😂
No but really trunk carbon fiber how much n were to get it @
@@oskarkarrera follow @jaliscos_carbonfiber on IG. He’s planning to have some carbon pieces coming available soon.
Have you had any problems with the adhesives on your spoiler or your diffuser? Have they fallen off at all or have you had to reapply ever? Looks great btw, gonna do the same thing to mine!
Never had and issue. Clean surface and tape holds well!
@@SpeedCultureStudios Good to know. Thanks. Another thing is do you know if this type of tape will stay and hold through all weather conditions because I live where it rains, snows, and gets pretty hot in the summer.
@@Ccommandment There isn't a better tape
Did you re-tint the tail lights or is that the same wrap from the older video?
Redone. This is spray VHT
Hey men what spoiler is that ? Great work on it
It's the high kick duckbill carbon fiber. I have it linked in the description. It may or may not be in stock at this time.
What spoiler do you have oh man your car looks crazy blacked out i have a black one but still has all the chrome on it
Thanks! It's just an amazon duckbill carbon fiber, but I wrapped the ends black. Take a look at my other videos. I have pretty much everything documented and linked.
Looks good man, what did you use for the taillights?
Thanks! VHT night shades. 4 coats wet sanded. 6 coats of clear wet sanded and polished. Waxed regularly
@@SpeedCultureStudios 10 4 brother I have a can in the garage I've used it before did not have a perfect result. I think I used the wrong clear coat. Did you leave them mounted?
@@camdadon7677 I just left them on the car, yes. Easier to polish them that way, but overall might have been easier to take them out.
Thank ya man. Happy easter to you and your family. Best VQ channel on CZcams 👌👌
@@camdadon7677 I appreciate it man. Happy Easter to you and yours as well!
Would it look better if I color match it? Or paint it gloss black.
It’s personal preference. I like matte black diffusers. I’m happy with this carbon fiber one though
Excellent ,not use ,screw or zip ties.and push button.
So did you only use the 3m tape or did you also drill some in
2 self-tappers on the underside
Did you end up putting in couple screws as well or just doubled sided tape?
Just the screws on the underside to attach to the bumper brackets
Looks sick yo simple looks with carbon fiber make it look better, what kind of tires are you running
Thanks!
Firehawk indy 500s
whats your wheel set up that fitment is clean
Check out my fitment video for every detail!
What license plate cover is that? Also you don’t have any issues with it being THAT dark? I have a tinted one but yours is probably 3x as dark
Never had a problem. Don’t have it anymore but had it on for 2 years probably
Its pretty cold in canada is it gonna stick even though the weather is like 0 degrees celcius?
Once it’s on its on. I wouldn’t install it when it’s cold but once it’s adhered it won’t come off
You should do new headlights like frosted
I know!
Looks good !!! Where’s the link to the diffuser
There is no link. It was from a subscriber that had an extra
Question…What exactly is the purpose of the rear diffuser? Other than the look does it have a purpose?
Purely aesthetic for these cars. But they help with aero
Where can I buy the rear emblem? On black
Check with @jaliscoscarbonfiber . Mine was carbon but painted black
Did you use the holes for the self tappers?
Yes.
What’s the name of your back spoiler? If possible where did you buy it from?
It’s a duckbill spoiler. Check out my spoiler videos for links
Does it mess the paint if you ever take it off?
No, it should not. Just don’t go crazy taking it off
I can’t get the clips on the brackets off😩 someone help
Just pop the rivet with a screwdriver and use a pry tool to pop them out
Where did you get the diffuser
A subscriber actually gave it to me
Did you drill the holes in your bumper before or after application?
I just drilled holes in the underside once I knew where the diffuser would line up.
Carbon hood next
I stayed the whole vid. Those lights tho hard to see U from the bak u less they on, That is a dope looking lady . she maons so nice
Tail lights are very visible, even in the daylight and are always in. Brake lights are bright-you wouldn’t know they were tinted. Cars now come factory with smoked tail lights. No different.
Where did you get the rear diffuser my guy ?
A subscriber had an extra one and gave me a deal on it. Not sure where he got it
Where did you get this diffuser
A subscriber
Speed culture, U should do a Oil Pan spacer ? wa U think ?
This is a SEXY ASS CAR MAN. U really know Ur stuff.
Hey buddy yeah I’ve definitely considered the spacer. I’ve talked about it in previous videos-one recently actually. It’s a good way to increase volume a bit
Where is that diffuser sold?
I’m not sure. I got it from a subscriber. Sorry!
Hello, Link where you got it from?
No link. I mentioned in the video that I purchased it from someone that had an extra.
Hey where did u get the screws im having trouble finding them anywhere
Just go to Home Depot and get some self tapping screws
@@SpeedCultureStudios thanks
Can you link the diffuser
I bought it from someone. No link sorry
How do you take it off if needed?
Little bit of heat and just work it off. Check out my spoiler install video-removing a spoiler is very similar
@@SpeedCultureStudios thanks bro
Did u just used double sided tape?
Thought I mentioned it, but I also used 2 small self-tapping screws on the underside to secure it to the 2 bumper brackets. You can see them on the underside at 8:36
Did you end up using any screws ?
Yes I put some self tappers into the bumper brackets just for security.
@@SpeedCultureStudios what size or could you drop a link
@@thade6130 I don't have a link. Just run to home depot or lowes and grab 2 self-tapping screws. Probably 1.5"
Do u recommend drilling any holes into ur bumper ???
On the underside, sure
@@SpeedCultureStudios did you ??
@@southpacific916 self tappers into the bumper brackets
Hows it holding up
Perfect!
jersey ? how much to install a diffuser on mine ???????
Free if you install it yourself lol. You can handle it!
@@SpeedCultureStudios i like perfection . so i pay lol .
I hate having to remove pre installed tape, easy but not time I like to spend.
Agreed!
You still wearing that diffuser?
Still wearing the diffuser yes 😂
Without screw:)))from ebay dont fit :(
Does anybody have a link to this specific diffuser? I don’t want to purchase a fake crappy cf one.
You think i can buy your old diffuser haha?
It’s in the dumpster
@@SpeedCultureStudios what??? why did u put it in there
@@SpeedCultureStudios do you know where he got that carbon diffuser?
@@Awsometiger1011 no idea
