Hi guys! Omgeeeee we are still dreaming about those mutton bones 🤤 One of the Top 3 dishes we ate on this visit to Singapore. Hope you’re all enjoying this series, thanks heaps for watching, sharing and for taking the time to comment 😘 Big love! Thomas & Sheena
You guys really are the best food/ travel channel I've found on youtube. You're knowledgable, humble and your videos are nicely produced, too. When the world is safer place I really wanna visit the places you've been to in Singapore and Oaxaca!
Hi Paul, thanks so much for your kind words mate- we’re so happy you’re enjoying our content! Oh gosh- Oaxaca- that place has my heart. It’s something special- those markets, the food, the culture. Hope it’s not too long before you can visit. Thanks for watching and hope you like our NZ content! Cheers, Sheena

Yes! That is the correct stall to get the sup tulang merah! My husband ALWAYS buy from that uncle. The other stalls are not as nice. Great job at finding it!
That stall really is the absolute best right rina aniraz?! The Uncles are so friendly and the flavour of the sup tulang merah is INSANELY amazing! Thanks for watching and commenting mate, hope you enjoyed the video 😄 Cheers, Sheena
Another great vdo, guys! Singapore is absolutely food heaven and that is no exaggeration. It's one of my favorite places to eat. I miss Singapore, its food and culture so much. Watching this episode made me so nostalgic. Glad Sheena didn't wear white while eating the red mutton bone dish. ha.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I actually put on a white tee in the morning then remembered what we were filming! That would have been a disaster 😝 hope we’re bringing back some great food memories for you Minnie C. Thanks for watching and commenting mate. Cheers, Sheena
- *_Tong Fong Fatt_* fits in with a conv I had recently. I don't avoid regional chains if they are well regarded but some are franchised and the quality can vary between restos. TTF used to have a dozen stalls in Singapore. Have you two tried other locations? Just to be clear, I'm definitely not down on chains. Trying to replicate success due to popularity and demand is awesome in some cases. *_Zapiecek_* is a very small pierogi chain in Warsaw. I read some good reviews so I ended up trying two shops. Very tasty. *_El Pescadito_* has a handful of locations in Mexico City as you know. Some of my very favorite tacos in CDMX. A super popular bakery in Paris has 30 locations. That said, you will never find me in a Hard Rock Cafe. 😐😂
I've been binge watching your videos for a while now, and oh my word I'm salivating each time. Thank you so much for this channel - I'll definitely use your channel as a reference when I go travelling. Video close up shots of the food are excellent, well done guys, you're my favourite foodie channel.

Hi guys 🙋🏻♀️ wow that rice pancake with the egg, coconut and sugar looks fabulous 😍 I know that has to be good. That hainnese chicken looks fabulous and love that dessert at the end.
Thanks for showcasing and appreciating funky dishes like this tulang dish. Being able to appreciate things like that makes you feel like you are an adult and true food connoisseur and not a child anymore. I used to stick to the 'safe' parts of the animal and I couldn't really stand the weirder parts, but as I grew older, I started yearning for the funkier parts because I realised they actually have a more mature flavour eg nowadays I tend to bonier parts of the chicken instead of the chicken breast, and I now love the taste of liver, the texture of tripe and intestines etc - things I used to shun. I know that in the west they tend to shun such parts of the animal for the most part, but these animal parts are revered in Asia. Cooking with the bones, the shells eg serving the fish whole with the bones, is also an Asian thing - the bones/shells actually impart a much deeper flavour to the meat and the dish overall. I've also been able to increase my spice capacity to at least 10 bird's eye chillies per meal... :D I believe every cuisine is different and places emphasis on different aspects but in regard to Asian cuisine, I think what I mentioned above is true.
We are huge fans of nose to tail eating A O! Totally agree about that extra flavour that the bones etc add. We came across a lot of it in Italy which was awesome- it was akin to Asia- perhaps even more so. It was fantastic to eat age old recipes based around tripe, spleen, cartilage etc The tulang in this video was easily one of the best things we ate on this visit. I’ve never forgotten how good it was when we first had it so I’m so glad we went back this time. We’ll be back for more on our next visit too! Thanks for watching and commenting mate. Hope you enjoyed this one! Cheers, Sheena
Welcome to Singapore. There are quite a good number of chicken rice in Singapore. Good that you enjoyed yourself. Try to mix the ginger sauce to the chilli and black sauce. That is another heavenly taste.
Thanks so much Hian Hwee LIM! We always love visiting Singapore! Will do the mixing of the sauces next time for sure 😄 we love this stall- we find them so consistent. Where are your favourites? Thanks for watching and commenting, hope you enjoy the series! Cheers, Sheena

Thomas & Sheena, one of the reasons I love your channel is that you guys seem to be so honest in your opinion & you researched on these foods & let us know the ingredients too, which make me want to try everything that you guys tried! Thanks so much for your lovely comment mate- it makes us so happy to know that you are enjoying our content 😍 we are so excited to be posting and have lots coming up so hope you like the future stuff too! 😄 Have a great weekend! Cheers, Sheena
I've been watching so many of your new videos that your older ones keep coming up in my recommendations, so I watch a few of them, too. The red bone marrow looks both amazing and terrifying. Fats and oils are some of my favourite ingredients but eating them on their own gives me the chills. I love simple bread and butter but eating plain butter with a spoon is disgusting. Bone marrow on toast seems the best way to go for me.
😍😍😍 thanks so much Stephen! Hahaha I totally agree- a spoonful of fat on its own gives me the heebie jeebies. But spread it on something and I’m away! Oh gosh- this red bone marrow was amazing- I think about it often 😝 Thanks for watching our old content as well as our new! Have a great weekend mate. Cheers, Sheena
Hi Dolna Macasero Eugenio, we’re really lucky as Thomas’s sister and family live in Singapore so we stay with them whenever we visit. They’re pretty central so it’s super easy for us to get the bus or the train to trip around town 😄 thanks for watching and commenting, hope you enjoyed this one! Cheers, Sheena
Omg it was next level guys!!! I’d fly back just to eat that dish 🤤🤤🤤🤤 thanks for watching and commenting on this one- hope you enjoyed it 😄 Cheers, Sheena
Sheena know how to inhale the taste of the bone marrow. Some food tours host don't know how to get it out, they tried to dig by using a chopstick or a skewer pick. Thomas could pour all that shredded coconuts and orange sugar spread into the crepes, then roll it up like burrito. I thought they would choose Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice Food Court like most food tours viewers because that place is most popular than here. TuTu is a good dessert not too heavy.
A simply delicious video. It's incredible you encouraging me not only to travel but to look up recipes also. That bone marrow looked heavenly. Perfect food vlog.
That’s so cool Rebecca!! So happy to hear it 😄 that bone marrow was next level- I’m still thinking about it 😆 thanks for watching and commenting mate 😘 Cheers, Sheena
You guys sure know how to travel to lesser known places! Hope you guys tried a very Singaporean Chinese "Kway Chap" dish, braised pork intestine, meat etc eaten with flat rice noodle.
🥳 thanks so much Cheong SL! We love Kway Chap big haven’t included it in a video yet- must pop it in on our next visit. Where’s your favourite spot for it? Thanks for watching and commenting, hope you’re enjoying the series 😄 Cheers, Sheena

Good to see someone looking beyond Tian Tian at Maxwell for chicken rice 👍 Plenty of good ones out there. Not tried the one you went to but Pow Sing in Serangoon Gardens is my fave.
😄😄😄 omg so sick of seeing Tian Tian 🤣 thanks so much for the recommendation mate! Will hunt it down on our next visit- always on the lookout for a great chicken rice! Hope you enjoyed this one- thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers, Sheena
Another great food video. Even Singapore has more than tens of thousands of food stall, I really think it's hard to find a stall that serve really bad food. The competition itself will put them out of business in a day. Thanks again for your hard work.
Thanks so much for your lovely comment eknoo! Yes with that much competition you’ve got to be serving some good food to stay in business! Hope you’re enjoying the series mate, thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers, Sheena
Hey you guys, I love this video! Singaporean foods looks so good here that you would love to try it out for sure and by the way, I never had the word 'Hainanese' before.
Hi Jade! Bet you would love the food culture! Yea Hainanese- can be a bit of a tongue twister 😆 it’s the people from Hainan in China 😄 So happy you liked this one mate, thanks for watching and commenting- hope you are having a great weekend! Cheers, Sheena

🤣🤣🤣🤣 it does a bit! That red! It was so delicious- a dish we’ll definitely be eating on our next visit to Singapore! Thanks for watching and commenting Jason, hope you get to sample it too one day! Cheers, Sheena
The bones look really good, I’d scrape the marrow out and butter my bread with it! We tend to use bone marrow on toast as a snack to eat before bed after we had the meat for dinner earlier that day! Beef marrow is a favorite here! Having never done more than roast the meat , the marrow was never more seasoned the onion ,garlic and herbs I used on the meat.. I think I’ll try to remove the bones before I make the roast and play around with spicing up the bones ....the sauce looked like a sweet BBQ sauce , not as heavy as the ribs sauce we use here. Worth a try!
Omg SaRaH Kruch it was such a great meal! One of the best we had on this visit. We love bone marrow on toast too- so decadent and rich 🤤 that sauce had a tomato sauce base I believe. Definitely not as intense as a bbq sauce- very light but loads of flavour 😋 thanks for watching and commenting, hope you enjoyed this one! Cheers, Sheena
😍😍😍😍 thanks so much Tina!! I love wearing spots 😄 Hope you are feeling much better- big love to ya! Thanks for watching and commenting 😘 Cheers, Sheena
Isn't chicken rice the best pramvadee hood. We absolutely love this one and never visit Singapore without having it. Thanks very much for watching and commenting on this video. Cheers, Thomas 😀
Just sharing, I did a little research on Hainanese Chicken rice quite a while ago. History says Hainanese cook in water but doesn't dunk it in cold water(if u see Thailand's and Hainanese Chicken isn't as tender cos they kept the old traditional style of cooking). However the cantonese in the region dunk the chicken in water to stop the cooking process which keep the chicken tender and juicy(that's why u see the inside bones of the chicken still pink at times)! So the hainanese chicken rice u see today is a hybrid of 2 different dialect groups putting in their cooking methods to get that great effect!
Hi Ernest Kwok! Thanks for sharing that info! It’s fascinating- love hearing how cooking techniques morph over time and cultures! Hope you enjoyed this video, thanks for watching and commenting 😄 Cheers, Sheena
Yup, it seemed Hainan island's chicken rice dont taste as good. The Wenchang chicken on Hainan island is where the famous Hainanese Chicken rice originated. They probably have the better tasting birds but I still think Malaysia and Singapore Chinese did a better job with their rice, soup and especially the unique chilli ginger sauce which I dont think the Hainan island versions if they do have can match.
The dishes in this video look absolutely amazing. The color of that sauce! Meanwhile Sheena, please share your secret. What lipstick do you use that it does not smudge when you bite into foods???? I need to know, LOL. Karen
Hi Karen!! Hahaha it’s a great lippy! It’s a lip lacquer by this Korean brand called Too Cool for School. I think they sell online in the US. This was such a great day of eating! Thanks for watching and commenting and hope you enjoyed it 😄 Cheers, Sheena
Kueh tu tu was my rage when I was a child in Singapore. It is much more common in Singapore then its counterpart putu piring. Both must be eaten very hot though, especially kueh tu tu, because they will harden as they cool. I still prefer putu piring, which is much softer, has only solid morsels of gula melaka inside (melts and explodes in your mouth like in ondeh ondeh!!) and is served with salted grated coconut on the side. Once I discovered putu piring, which my grandma introduced me to, I couldn't go back to kueh tutu. I'm so blessed to have learnt to make my own at home with great success! Some say there is a 'racial' variation when it comes to this dessert: the malay one is the putu piring, the chinese version is the kueh tutu, and the indian one is putu mayam. All use exactly the same ingredients but look and taste different, especially the texture. The amazing part about east and southeast asian desserts is that they are virtually plant-based, or if you like, vegan, so you don't have any complications that some might experience when eating dairy.
It’s sooooo tasty right Abel Campos?! One of my favourite things ever! Thanks for watching and commenting mate, hope you enjoyed this one! Cheers, Sheena
It's not a must but the traditional way of cooking chicken rice is to fry the aromatics in rendered chicken fat (instead of oil) before mixing the rice in to steam. That's why it's so moreish :) I also love how for chicken rice they whack the chicken before serving to make it softer so it's easier to eat. I love how you know your stuff and you explore the 'unknown' essentials - that's how you impressed and won the hearts of your respective native audiences... :D
That's such a kind thing to say, thanks so much A O! Love the extra info about the aromatics and cooking them in the chicken fat before adding to the rice. OMG!!!

We don’t find the chicken at Tian Tian as smooth or as silky as the chicken at this spot! Thanks for watching. Cheers, Sheena

Hainanese chicken rice (SG version) to be exact☺
Kueh tutu looks so good fresh out of the steamer
It’s so soft!!! Mouth watering! 😋
nice to meet peeps who actually eat...and great to have a 'eating' partner...lucky couple
😍😍😍😍 thanks so much lee jim! We are very lucky that we both love to eat just as much as each other. Hope you enjoy travelling and eating with us! Thanks for watching and commenting 😄 Cheers, Sheena
The apam is new to me. There are still a lot of Indian and Malay dishes I am not familiar with
So happy we were able to share it with you in this video Sean 😄 definitely try it if you get a chance- they’re delicious with curry too. Thanks for watching and commenting mate- hope you enjoyed this one! Cheers, Sheena
Soup Tulang looked awesome and out of this world, in fact it looked like a meal you would see in an alien movie ! Love to try it though !
Cheers, Sheena
love your polka dots and pink polish Sheena!! so cuuuuute
😍😍😍😍 thanks so much Tina!! I love wearing spots 😄 Hope you are feeling much better- big love to ya! Thanks for watching and commenting 😘 Cheers, Sheena

hi other great foods u guys I love rice and chickens u guys best love ya

Great way to wake up!!!!
😄😄😄😄 thanks Leann! Hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and commenting, have a brilliant day! 😘 Cheers, Sheena
Bone marrow 👍 can’t miss love it!!
OMG!!!
Chasing a Plate - Thomas & Sheena 😊I thought you somehow did not receive a notification for this and another comment of mine on this video, because I noted that you replied my first comment quite quickly but not this one. Finally you did 👍😊
