- This beautiful vast ruin sits in the North Yorkshire Moors, between the villages of Wass and Coxwold.
Dating back to 1135, this abbey is a fantastic example of gothic christian architecture, most of which you can still see today. The west wing, with the remains of its circular window, was the inspiration for the York cathedral window. On the east wing, part of the original mosaic tile floor still remains, as well as the raised platform where the alter was positioned.
The most amazing fact about this beautiful gothic ruin is that you can visit it for free, and spend an hour or two exploring the abbey remains.
Great video and fantastic shots.
I am aspiring to be able to produce footage of this quality with much more practice.
Thank you and keep up the great work.
Cool shot I've hit the sub button
This is a very interesting video. Thank you for showing us your part of the world.
Yorkshire is rich in history and amazing ruins, well worth a trip.
Epic flight in ruin!
And it was free!
Imagine the labour to build that! Great video!
Especially in those days, but they certainly knew how to make things last!
🍻 👍
What a vast sight, well done for capturing it all. The dynamic music to add tension, especially at the beginning. A magnificent site and sight, Well done sir.
Thank you, the shear size of the site did make it challenging. This Abbey is a must see if your in the area, and it is free to visit!
In truth this is on the list for me and is highlighted as one of the close ones to fly. As the 61 sites on the site is a bit much for one trip lol. @@PhantomandtheDrone 🤔
