This is Brad's story. His Mom found a real man. A real Dad. It has nothing to do with blood. Just the â„
Close. It's actually about his co-writer's experience being a step-dad. Brad came to him to recommend they write a song about it.
Paisley and Kelley Lovelace co wrote this as a true story, but itâs actually Lovelaceâs story. Not Paisley. CMT reported on it incorrectly as Bradâs story back in the day. Thatâs why itâs commonly believed that this story is about Brad and a real life step father.
I danced with my Dad to this at my wedding. We met when I was 5.
This is how it happened to me and my son. He was 12 when my now husband came into our lives. My son and I were both scared to death, but we took a chance and my husband was the answer to our prayers. I made it clear from day one that we were a package deal and my husband accepted that fully. My son and my elderly father both gave me away at our wedding đ. Now my son is 34 with 4 kids of his own and he's such a good father. We owe it to my husband. He was the father he didn't have to be. Thank you for your reaction. Blessings to you!
This is my story too. I was a single mom with a 5 yr old daughter and a 2 month old son when we started talking and writing letters and one month later he asked me to marry him. 5 months later we got married and he adopted my two and then we had a son. August will be our 25th Anniversary. No one thought we would make it past 6 months. But with Jesus at the center of our relationship, we are still hopelessly in love. He didn't have to accept my kids, but he became daddy to them and never looked back .
Thatâs amazing â€

It's nice meeting you here
just read this now funny enough its august 25th HAPPY ANNIVERSARY lol đđ
This song reminds me of my sister and her husband each one became not a step parent but a parent to the others kids and the kids think of each other as brothers and sisters not step siblings. They've been a family since the mid 90's.
In 99, when this song came out it hit he hard. Here I was having my 6th daughter, and standing next to me at the nursery was my dad. A man who wasn't blood, but our bond was much deeper. As he raised me as his own. He was not perfect by any means, but he meant well and was always there. And although he's been gone 3 years now, at 54, I still hope to be half the father he was with me.
This is the song I danced with my âDadâ to at my wedding! Heâs been my dad since I was 6 years old, even though he didnât have to be!! â€
Brad has a way of singing either a funny song ( Iâm gonna miss her) or a story song, that grabs you by the toes, and pulls you inside out, with emotions.
Check out his duet with Alison Krause, âWhisky Lullaby â. (Make sure you watch the version with Ricky Schroeder in the accompanying video.) , a real tear jerker.
He actually reacted to that fairly recently!
This and waiting on a woman will kill you with the tears. My two all time faves of Brad
Once in awhile this song will put a tear in my eye's. My dad became a step-father to my Oldest brother, and if he didn't I might not of been born.
Songs like this give us a better understanding of who AB is and what HE's about. Add them up and you see he's not only a good reactor but a good human đ.
Was a single mom, my son was 8 days old when my now husband told me that we were his forever, and 32 yrs later still the only man my son has ever called dad. This is their song, literally. Xo
His song âmud on the tiresâ and âticksâ are my two favorite of his
When I get where I'm going by Brad featuring Dolly Parton is another great song and video
I was an On-Air personality when this song came out. It is so relatable for so many people in this divorce culture world we live in.
My son told my husband-his stepfather- that this song was how he felt about him. It brought tears to my eyes.

That is the sweetest thing. đ„șâ€ïž
So I whould play this song every year on Father's day for my dad. He met me when I was 4 and when mom and him split he keep me and I have his last name. I lost him this year on January 7th. It'll be the first Father's day without him. I miss him so much. đ
This song makes me cry every time I hear it. I was a single mom and this song hits home. Thank you for playing!! I love your reactions

Brad is truly a good person. He recently wrote a song to help fund the war in Ukraine, (which had a cameo of President Zelinsky).
I played this song at my dadâs funeral. This was how my dad was for me.

One of my favorites I love brad paisley thank you for another amazing one kingâ€
Being adopted myself, this song always hits me hard
I'm adopted, too, and absolutely slammed by wonderful memories when I hear this song. I'm still very much Daddy's Little Girl even though Daddy will be gone 30 years this March 17th...
This is a great song about life today. And if it doesn't get you in your feelings, you ain't got any feelings
I've listened to this song dozens of times, not a single time did I get through it without tears. Such a beautiful story

You said it right. That man was a real man.
Iâve loved this song since it first came out in the late 90âs
This is the true story of the co-writer.
I was thinking it was something like that...... Could not remember if it was co-writer or friend......
@@CoastalNomad both, friend and co-writer
This song really hit me in the feels when it came out. My stepdad - who passed away last September - was in my life since I was 1. He never legally adopted me but he's always been the man I called dad. Now, many years later, I found that I cannot have children of my own, but I am a stepmom to my husband's 2 from previous relationships. My son gave me a "Mom" necklace for Christmas one year and I broke down into tears. It means so much to a child to be raised and loved by someone who didn't HAVE to be because they were born to them, but instead CHOSE to be.
â€â€â€â€â€đđđđđâ€â€â€â€â€đđđđđ In this day and time a lot of people can relate!! Very emotional song!! Great reactionđ
This is such a great song and Brad Paisley has plenty. My favorites of his are Part Two, Then, Remind Me (with Carrie Underwood), He Didnât Have To Be, Letter To Me, Ticks, I Wish Youâd Stay, Who Needs Pictures, Iâve Been Better, Holdinâ On To You, Alcohol, Celebrity, I'm Still a Guy, and Water.
PLEASE do âSheâs everythingâ by Brad Paisley, thatâs another one that will tug them heartstrings
There are step dadsâŠand then there are dads who stepped up. (donât remember where I heard this quote, but it says it all!)
I've never heard that but absolutely love it! Gonna make sure I tell my husband that first thing in the morning.
You need to hear his song with Andy Griffin âWaiting On A Womanâ
This song always brings instant tears. Bradâs songs always do that to me. Heâs a national treasure.
This is my story also, sort of. I married a woman with a 7 yr old daughter. She is my daughter. Her mother and I divorced a long time ago, but she remained my daughter. Last year, my second wife and I adopted her as a 46 yr old adult. It took me long enough, but we made it legal again.
One day I will not cry when I watch this. Maybe
Great Reaction to this Video.......
This is one of Brad's early song/video's........
Me and my 3 siblings felt the exact same way when my mom met my stepdad. Unfortunately we lost him 10 years ago when I was 12 but I was so thankful that I had him for the 6 years that I did. My mother has now been dating the same guy for the past 9 years and I have not developed the same bond with him that I did with my stepdad. My mom's boyfriend treats her and my siblings like complete s*** where as my stepdad treated us like royalty even though we didn't have a lot of money for him to do so.
You need to check out Billy Curringtonâs âWalk a little straighterâ and Jordan Davisâs ânext thing you knowâ amazing! Love this song!!đ
I lost the man i called my dad 8 years ago to cancer i miss him so much
Please react to Brad Paisley singing "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive". It's not his original song but his version is my favorite. And I'm partial to it because Harlan is in Kentucky and I'm from eastern Kentucky. But either way it's a beautiful and sad song. â€
This is my story. I met my husband when my son was 5 and he didnât know his dead beat bio dad. Now we been married 21 years and my son is 27 and would go with his dad anywhere. He isnât a step dad heâs dad. Heâs the man who stepped up. He even takes his side over mine no matter what is going on đ

Great reaction AB...
Another similar tear jerker song is "My Boy" by Elvie Shane...
Would love to see your reaction...
You need to watch his video celebrity. It's a roll on the floor one đ proud to call him a fellow WVian
The guy playing his dad in this video is Lee Majors from the television show The Six Million Dollar Man. I've never seen this video before so it was a surprise to see him.
Wow.. thanks for sharing that info..
Finally some one who recognized Lee Majors.
@@ritamead6318 You're welcome.
@@edithdavis2848 I was surprised that no one else recognized him too.
My dad has 7 kids but only 3 of us are his biologically. He raised my older sister from the time she was 2 and when my parents got divorced he kept raising her. Then he met the woman heâs now married two and raised her 3 also. My dad suffers from PTSD and was an alcoholic for 30 years and he still managed to be a dad to all of us when the other âfathersâ were never in the picture. Iâm grateful heâs my dad but I can never be as grateful as the others who would have had no dad at all if not for him.
Absolutely love ur reaction to this amazing song... â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Canât suggest enough When I Get Where Iâm Going with Dolly Parton
Great song!

Is it just me or has AB's sound been really low lately compared to the music? I can hardly hear him talking.
I agree. I have to have my volume all the way up to be able to hear him.
You know the saying of taking the kid to get to the mom? My husband of 25 years used to joke around with me and my 13 year old that he took the mom to get a son lol (in a non weird pedo way.. Have to make that clear now days) He took on a ready made family and became what we both needed and still need.

I absolutely love your reactions. Another great song that will get you in the feels is there goes my life by Kenny Chesney. It always makes me tear up a little czcams.com/video/xP-Sxfntdb4/video.html
I knew you'd like that song. :) Check out "I Don't Call Him Daddy" by Doug Supernaw its a new artist for the channel
@ABtheKreator Your voice is very hard to hear and the song is louder just so you know. You were hard to hear.
Also, This is my Huband now with my girls. I know Im blessed to have a husband like this. I had a stepfather that was the complete opposite. Let's say my husband had a lot to prove before I would let him near my kids. He understood why and was willing to do whatever I need to and I laid it out, without changing it up on him. and will be brutally honest, when it comes to my kids I still have the final say. He respected it and understood why, but I don't ignore his thoughts if he has them, yes he does change my mind from time to time. But I learned the hard way to stick to my guns when it comes to my kids.
My son's father didn't want anything to do with him my husband know took over the row as his father my son was almost a year old when my husband came into his life
