  • Law Lock Tools in the UK is making some fantastic picks. This video looks at their main kit - the Increment Pro kit, plus the smaller Tipene Hooks, and also briefly touches on the Nessie rakes.
These picks were clearly designed with the working locksmith or law enforcement practitioner in mind and have a solid, no nonsense approach to their construction. The handles in particular are almost indestructible and provide excellent feedback but are definitely more suited to picking locks in a "pins up" configuration, like Europrofile locks. Versions more suited to hobbyists are in development.
You can buy their picks at: www.lawlocktools.co.uk/
and for those of us downunder: www.pickpals.com.au/

Thanks Michael for a great review and the picks are evolving on a weekly basis. Thanks to guys like Tipene and yourself and the locksport community as a whole.

andy123law So when can we expect to see all pick styles in the plain handle? I will be looking to supplement my new Valyrian pick set. 😁

Personally I like the pro set handles better than the echo wave style because they are so incredibly comfortable to hold

That is a truly beautiful set. It is far beyond my needs but it looks great for those who need such a kit.

Good review Michael. You tell it like it is. Fair, unbiased, practical and you explain a lot. You could’ve gone on longer and I still would watch it. This kit, hell anything that Andy Law has come up with. His collaboration with Tipene, the Locksport, Locksmith community. That speaks volumes from a potential purchaser’s point of view. I have heard a lot of positive comments on these and other pick tools from Law Lock Tools. Excellent picks. May have to get some in the future. Take care mate.

AS a beginner I decided to try a few picks from a number of makers. I like my Law lock picks but I do a lot of
more open keyways and would like some more stout profiles. Enter the VALYRIAN set. Just out they have .025"
thick shafts that are a heavier profile. This will probably end up being my first actual kit.
    Thanks for the review.

Nice breakdown of the offerings on hand, Michael. The Tipene hooks look to be an interesting alternative to the SSDeV designed trio from Sparrows. Intrigued to see what Andy does with the shorter handle design in the near future.

Great Review👍 Awesome kit and love the bigger handles.
Really nice set of profiles I have to say thinking about getting a set after seeing them now.
Great for even a mid level picker looking to advance to the next level of locks.👍😀✌️

A great review there! I have the EDC Pro kit and I love it. I have some Nessies and a few new picks due soon (all of the tipene picks) 😁 I do like the handles too, they are a bit odd at first but I’ve gotten quite used to them 😁🥚

Thanks for the in depth review! I need to take advantage of the currency conversion and get a set of these!!! Odd, though, hearing a bunch of my favorite profiles called old and me only in the hobby 2 years. ;)

I always love your in depth reviews, they have quite often swayed my opinion on certain things.
Will you continue the MTL tutorial series?!? I have one I can get the outers but need some help on how to modify my Goso picks for the inners.
I think you may have done a Souber review which will help though :-)
