  • This video articulates three essential Biblical components of becoming Christian:
    1. Repentance in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Luke 24:47 KJV).
    2. Holy Baptism. (Matthew 28:19).
    3. Eating the flesh and drinking the blood of Christ. (John 6:53).

Are there any similarities with Buddhism and Christianity?

Some, such as Theosis and Enlightenment. I have a chapter on that in my book. “The God Vacuum”

@@TCGriswold_ICXC what is enlightenment in Christianity? I am a Buddhist dipping his toes into orthodoxy.

I practiced Japanese Buddhism for 25 years and was even ordained. I find Orthodox Christianity to be far superior. I talk about this process in my book. www.audible.com/pd/B09KMHGD22/?source_code=AUDFPWS0223189MWT-BK-ACX0-282689&ref=acx_bty_BK_ACX0_282689_rh_us

I think the eating of the flesh is more symbolic. I'm not too sure that what was meant was strict adherence.

Then what does the Lord mean when he says if you don't eat his flesh and drink his blood, "ye will have no life in you." Orthodox Christians follow all the commandments of the Lord. We don't pick and choose which ones to follow and which ones to discard. That is why so many new Christian sects are so watered down.

@@TCGriswold_ICXC if you accept that in its literal meaning the statement makes no sense because there is no body for me to eat or blood for me to imbibe. We are then left with a symbolic interpretation. If it is to have symbolic meaning it must pertain to our souls. Why do I need to go through the physical motions to receive the body and blood of Christ into my soul?

@@digitalfilmreviews7843 Sin is committed in the flesh. Alternately, holy sacraments are also done in the flesh. Action is the manifestation of the mind and spirit. Mind, body, and spirit are one.
