The biggest issue with protestantism, is that to defend your faith and your dogmas, you have to rely on church fathers to show that the trinity wasn't made up centuries later, or that some dogmas are inherent to christianity, from the beginning. But when asked, the church fathers taught Catholicism, orthodoxies and other dogmas that are part of all (or most of) apostolic churches. Then how can a protestant defend his dogmas using 'heretic' writtings? You end up hitting the wall full speed. You literaly can't defend your dogmas without using catholics or orthodox teachings, ressources and church fathers. So when you need it to defnd your faith you use it but when you are looking for other dogmas that none of the early churches taught, these church fathers are not valid anymore?

I know a Christian that is believing heretical ideas and when I try to clear it up through scripture it's impossible. So I can take the tact of saying, Catholics, Orthodox and early protestant churches all believe this theology:__ The problem with this is the media is so dishonest for people that want Christianity and they see it... so they look at church fathers with the same scepticism.
It puts me into this weird position of being someone pushing mainstream 'lies.' The church fathers weren't corrupted by corporate interests or communist ideology sneaking in.

May I suggest some reasons why there is decline ?
1 ) Complete disregard of the scriptures ( King James Bible) regarding the doctrines and practices.
2 ) Almighty God does not dwell in temples made with hands.
    Acts 6 : 13-15 , 7 : 42-51, 17 : 22-25 , Hebrews 8 : 2 , 9 : 11& 24.
3 ) The rejection of the Pure and Preserved word of Almighty God in English ( King James Bible ) and embracing evil , satanic , vatican approved books based on less than 1% of the extant mss.
Almighty God CANNOT empower the evil heresy and lies of ALL modern ( post 1881 ) books.
4 ) Temple worship and sacrifice along with the priesthood are pagan practices. They were completely abolished by the Lord Jesus Christ at Calvary.
Hebrews chapters 7-10 KJV. The catholic cult carried on with this heresy when it was invented in the 4th century and still do to this day with their satanic sacraments.
5 ) In summary. The Holy Ghost cannot empower so called Christians who deliberately defy the true scriptures in matters of faith and practice. "All are welcome," say the notice boards in flagrant violation of the New Testament teaching. Church gatherings are for SAVED PEOPLE ONLY. 2 Corinthians 6 : 14-18 KJV.

    *What is the Problem?*
    1. Anyone religious leader (clergyman, church father) who relies on King James Bible or any translation other than the original Greek version, preferably the Alexandrian text, is teaching a false gospel. @2:18, "viewing the original" is a false claim. That text is most certainly unoriginal and has its fair share of errors.
    2. Church of England is not traditional. It came into existence because the Henry VIII wanted to practice polygamy (simplistic explanation). @1:55
    3. A claim that every religion is false except my religion is a sign of arrogance. Arrogance is one reason why people leave churches. @3:55
    4. Archaeological evidence is also lacking when it comes to many claims made in the New Testament, so the Book of Mormon cannot be held to a different standard. @4:00
    5. The "real" bible and "mountains and mountains" of archaeology and history, is again a false claim. Speaking of mountains, @4:05, for example, Saint Paul, in his letter to the Galatians, claims Mount Sinai is in Arabia, when in reality, Mount Sinai is to the West of Judaea Caesarea and Arabia is to the East of Judaea Caesarea.
    6. Other "false" religions is another manifestation of arrogance why people leave churches. @5:20, The reason why people migrate to eastern religions is because (1) they are polytheistic and allow for multiple schools of thought, and (2) they are not centrally controlled by some politically backed pope or patriarch thereby allowing freedom of thought, just like Graeco-Roman Polytheism was. Of all, Agnosticism or Atheism seems to be the most logical destination.
    7. Disillusionment with Christianity happens. @5:24, for example, (1) to preach monotheism, and (2) to preach that the god of the New Testament is the same god as the god of the Old Testament, is guaranteed to drive most logical thinking people away. Monotheism is a political ambition. Polytheism is a cold hard reality or nature.
    *What is the solution?*
    8. Clergymen should get a job in the private sector because god-business is not gainful employment.
    9. People should realize that no fallen human has any special access to god and that nobody can guide one to heaven.
    10. People should quit acting like toddlers. I.e. to say "my religion is better than yours" is like a child saying "my toy is better than yours." Alternatively, saying "my god is the only true god" or "my theology is the only true theology" is a sign of jealousy and is a sinful act that most clergymen are guilty of.
