I have both, and i need to admit that mafia 2 is AWESOME and better than gta 4. (I have them on xbox 360 btw)

Mafia 2 - highly optimised , good looking water , the story , the little details( turning on the lamp ) , better police , nice voice acting.
GTA 4 - best rag doll physics , physics , the way the people react when touched with a car , better missions , better explosions , bigger map , can swim , better road accidents unlike mafia 2.

Mafia 2 was set in 1950's the story is fantastic and relatable too... The cars were great the guns were accurate for that time the voice was great but in case of gta iv you can go to strip club and do other unnecessary stuffs which in case of mafia 2 is no applicable the classic clothes coates and hats gives you the feeling of a true gentleman the car sounds and gas station, running out of fuel thing is also new and only in case of open world games..... By far i've played both mafia 2 and gta iv and i'll go for mafia 2 anyday...... And also another big advantage of mafia 2 is it's size and hardware recommendations old pc's can easily run mafia ...... but gta iv ..... no way

For me, GTA 4 and Mafia 2 are both terrific, two really great games, but I feel like GTA 4 is just slightly overrated while Mafia 2 is vastly underrated

In my opinion, those who choose gta 4 are those who depend on the gta series. Mafia 2 is always different than Gta 4.

1 (6.). The gas station shooting - Mafia II wins because the smoke and fire lasts longer than GTA IV. Perhaps more realistic.
2. Well, for car physics, Mafia II wins because it uses a more realistic driving especially for a 1950 car. In GTA IV, they all drive in more boat-like.
3. In ragdolls physics, I like both. In GTA IV, the ragdolls do react to anything that touches them. In Mafia II they dont react to physical attacks (car driving over) until the pedestrian is dead of which the body becomes a ragdoll. Either way, I like both. Both are hilarious :P
4. The car explosions is more nicely done in GTA IV.
5. I didn't understand this part.
6. There are no boats in Mafia II so we can't compare it with GTA IV boat abilities. However, Mafia II has boats parked by the fish shores or sort while GTA IV doesnt.
7. In Mafia II, you can turn off the water, lights, open windows, etc. GTA IV doesn't have them.
8. I like the rain effects both of the games. It's weird however how some pedestrians dont have umbrellas in Mafia II.
9. The fire effects are good both games.
GTA IV and Mafia II games are both good and both are entirely different games. GTA games are more Arcadish that appeal to younger audience while Mafia games are more realistic and on serious style that appeal for mature audience. Change my mind.
Well,gta iv is the single gta which isnt as arcadeish or tries to appeal to a younger audience
I mean, in GTA IV, cops dont care if you are showing your weapons publicly (In M2 you get arrested for that), you wont die if you collide into an environment this hard (You do in M2), the cars behave like boats (In M2, it's more realistic how we drive irl) and so on. I mean, it's difficult to say the GTA series are not taking on more Arcadish level. I am not saying they are bad games, they are good games but they lack realistic and serious styles on many levels.
@@Thekillergreece If you draw out your weapon in GTA IV the cops say to put it away. So there is a reaction to the player having a weapon drawn out.

Yup, that's an another big problem. Mafia 2 is half-finished game which does great job despite of that state.

You got a new subscriber because of this video. In my opinion mafia 2 is what i like and gta 4 is what i love because of the realistic things and unrealistic things you can do in the game
i prefer Mafia 2 why? cuz the game is well optimized for potato PC it runs about 20-30 fps in MED settings with average of 18-25 fps which is good and no lag
while GTA 4 med settings about 10-15 fps which makes you RAGE the game Lags like hell
but GTA 4 so far outplay the mafia 2 in the storyline still i recommend Mafia 2 cuz it is well optimized for potato pc while

In GTA 4, on low settings, i get 25 to 30 FPS on my potato pc, while Mafia 2 on medium, i get 40+ FPS, Mafia 2 is indeed more optimised.

There are so many buildings in Mafia 2................ and yet 80% of them don't have anything in them and you can't go inside or interact with any of them. That is such a shame. Sure, I get that there are memory limitations......... but come 2020-2025, I think this game needs to be revisited, remastered, and expanded to include all the things that would really make the game as immersive as we all want it to be, if not more than what we actually got. We can't even go into the barbershop, the cinema, or the bowling alley!
Mafia II was a medium budget game, and more than 50% of the intended content was scrapped out because they ran out of money. It would be impossible for them to do that. And even so, it is almost a miracle that the game still had that insane amount of details.
The driving in Mafia 2 is fun. That alone makes it 2x better than GTA 4.
I find it annoying.. Gta4 physics and driving is much better.. Mafia 2 have extra weight in cars

No,you cant.gta IV optimization sucks so bad.even in lower graphics you would still get 20 FPS.unless you use a program or something.

GTA IV is fairly rated and Mafia II is damn underrated. Both games have different features. GTA IV is better in ragdoll physics while Mafia II is better in vehicle logics. But ngl Mafia II is slightly realistic than GTA IV

The only thing i don't like about Mafia 2 is that when you die, instead of beint discharge from the hospital, the game just starts you from the beginning of the chapter like ftw
The only reason why I don't like Mafia 2 is is when you die you have to go back to the beginning of the freaking chapter

In GTA IV you have a great story,phisics and a high level of details but you still have the freedom of a GTA,while in Mafia II,the game always remind you that its a more serious game and you should focus in the story,still,a very well made game that can easily run in any computer,with an also great(but sadly,too short) story,epic characters and a huge level of details too.
